There is a big difference between Robert Plant and most of the legendary rockers, Plant is restless, can not stay in the same place for a long time, uncomfortable comfort, changes, evolves, takes risks, and at this stage of his career that is more how admirable.
A decade ago his creative renaissance was captured on the album "Raising Sand" (2007) with the talented Alison Krauss, followed by the project "Band Of Joy" (2010) and "Lullaby And ... The Ceaseless Roar" (2014 ), all were more than interesting proposals. The former singer of Led Zeppelin and The Honeydrippers, now comes with "Carry Fire", an impeccable production of good bill.
For "Carry Fire", Plant takes sounds that he discovered traveling around the world, elements of Aboriginal music, to which he even added oriental rhythms and textures. It also gives rise to more traditional rock in "New World ..." and a declaration of love in the acoustic "Season's Song". The best songs contain elements taken from rock and the most primitive, such as "Queen Of May", guitars from "Bones Of Saints" and the desire of "Bluebirds Over The Mountain", which has the vocal collaboration of Chrissie Hynde (The Pretenders).
The other guests in "Carry Fire" are the Albanian Redi Hasa (cello), Seth Lakeman (viola and violin) and the current band that accompanies it, the Sensational Space Shifters.
Lyrically, Plant looks nostalgically at the past, as she sees her aging and the proximity of death as a theme that occupies her head. "And now the carnival is over, someone turned off the light," he sings in "Dance With You Tonight." This is a recurring theme in "Carry Fire", even when Plant does not say it explicitly, there are songs that are linked by this theme, a kind of reminder about the cycle of life. "The seasons change, and once again our world will change," he sings in "A Way With Words."
The roars in Plant's voice are no longer so present and appear only in high records, already left the days of "Whole Lotta Love" and seems to be okay with that. "Carry Fire" has the same musical bases that were effective for Led Zeppelin, such as the blues and oriental influences that we had previously heard in, for example, "Kashmir" (1975), only now adopting them naturally thanks to the experience that the years gave him.

Plant led Led Zeppelin until its disintegration in 1980, since then it carries out a successful solo career alternated with its passage by other alignments like Priory of Brion, Robert Plant and his Strange Sensations, and the present The Sensantional Space Shifters.
Robert Plant has a new album and seems to be determined (for the moment) to frustrate a possible return of Led Zeppelin to the stage. Donovan (born Donovan Philips Leitch; 10 May 1946) is a Scottish singer, songwriter and guitarist. He developed an eclectic and distinctive style that blended folk, jazz, pop, psychedelia, and world music (notably calypso). He has lived in Scotland, London and California, and, since at least 2008, in County Cork, Ireland, with his family. Emerging from the British folk scene, Donovan reached fame in the United Kingdom in early 1965 with live performances on the pop TV series, Ready Steady Go!.
Having signed with Pye Records in 1965, he recorded singles and two albums in the folk vein, but after a new contract with US CBS/Epic Records his popularity spread to other countries. After extricating himself from his original management contract, he began a long and successful collaboration with Mickie Most, a leading British independent record producer, with hits in the UK, the US and other countries.
His most successful singles were the early UK hits "Catch the Wind", "Colours" and "Universal Soldier" in 1965. "Sunshine Superman" topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart (number two in Britain), and "Mellow Yellow" reached US number two the following year, with "Hurdy Gurdy Man" in the Top 5 in both countries in 1968. He was the first artist to be signed to CBS/Epic Records by the new administrative vice-president, Clive Davis. Donovan and Most collaborated on hit albums and singles between 1965 and 1970. He became a friend of pop musicians including Joan Baez, Brian Jones and The Beatles. He taught John Lennon a finger-picking guitar style in 1968. Donovan's commercial fortunes waned after parting with Most in 1969, and he left the industry for a time.

Donovan (horse)
Donovan (1886–1905) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. In a career that lasted from 1888 to 1889 he ran twenty-one times and won eighteen races. He was the leading British two-year-old of 1888 when he won eleven of his thirteen starts. At three Donovan won the Epsom Derby and the St Leger: he failed to win the English Triple Crown owing to a narrow and probably unlucky defeat in the 2000 Guineas. He set a world record by earning a total of £55,443 in win prize money. Donovan was a modest success as a stallion. He died after being injured in an accident in 1905.
Background
Donovan was a dark-coated bay bred by his owner William Cavendish-Bentinck, 6th Duke of Portland a Conservative politician and landowner. Among the Duke’s other horses were the undefeated St. Simon and the 1888 Derby winner Ayrshire. He was sent into training with George Dawson at his Heath House Stable in Newmarket, Suffolk.
Donovan’s sire Galopin was an outstanding racehorse who won the Derby in 1872 and went on to be a successful and influential stallion, being Champion sire on three occasions. Mowerina, Donovan’s dam, won sixteen races and produced several winners including the 1000 Guineas winner Semolina and the colt Raeburn, the only horse ever to defeat Isinglass.

"And now the carnival is over, someone turned off the light," he sings in "Dance With You Tonight." This is a recurring theme in "Carry Fire", even when Plant does not say it explicitly, there are songs that are linked by this theme, a kind of reminder about the cycle of life. "The seasons change, and once again our world will change," he sings in "A Way With Words."

From the start of their relationship, their intentions in music making was as much influenced by ‘80s pop like Oingo Boingo and Madonna, as it was by the shocking performance art of Lady Gaga.
It was a match that led to their debut, the tellingly titled, but somewhat rough around the edges, Let’s Fall in Love. With the release of last month’s Superdelicious – which they played, produced, and mastered in the apartment they now share – Damn the Witch Siren’s dynamics have sharpened into slick high-energy dance music with a thumping industrial clang. Much of it passes in a blur of neon and glitter, like the sensation one might get from living in a Japanese pachinko machine, but Kitten provides plenty of sticky hooks that prove they’re serious when they talk of aspirations to become legitimate pop stars.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. There is a big difference between Robert Plant and most of the legendary rockers, Plant is restless, can not stay in the same place for a long time, uncomfortable comfort, changes, evolves, takes risks, and at this stage of his career that is more how admirable.
A decade ago his creative renaissance was captured on the album "Raising Sand" (2007) with the talented Alison Krauss, followed by the project "Band Of Joy" (2010) and "Lullaby And ... The Ceaseless Roar" (2014 ), all were more than interesting proposals. The former singer of Led Zeppelin and The Honeydrippers, now comes with "Carry Fire", an impeccable production of good bill.
For "Carry Fire", Plant takes sounds that he discovered traveling around the world, elements of Aboriginal music, to which he even added oriental rhythms and textures. It also gives rise to more traditional rock in "New World ..." and a declaration of love in the acoustic "Season's Song". The best songs contain elements taken from rock and the most primitive, such as "Queen Of May", guitars from "Bones Of Saints" and the desire of "Bluebirds Over The Mountain", which has the vocal collaboration of Chrissie Hynde (The Pretenders).
The other guests in "Carry Fire" are the Albanian Redi Hasa (cello), Seth Lakeman (viola and violin) and the current band that accompanies it, the Sensational Space Shifters.
Lyrically, Plant looks nostalgically at the past, as she sees her aging and the proximity of death as a theme that occupies her head. "And now the carnival is over, someone turned off the light," he sings in "Dance With You Tonight." This is a recurring theme in "Carry Fire", even when Plant does not say it explicitly, there are songs that are linked by this theme, a kind of reminder about the cycle of life. "The seasons change, and once again our world will change," he sings in "A Way With Words."
The roars in Plant's voice are no longer so present and appear only in high records, already left the days of "Whole Lotta Love" and seems to be okay with that. "Carry Fire" has the same musical bases that were effective for Led Zeppelin, such as the blues and oriental influences that we had previously heard in, for example, "Kashmir" (1975), only now adopting them naturally thanks to the experience that the years gave him.

Plant led Led Zeppelin until its disintegration in 1980, since then it carries out a successful solo career alternated with its passage by other alignments like Priory of Brion, Robert Plant and his Strange Sensations, and the present The Sensantional Space Shifters.
Robert Plant has a new album and seems to be determined (for the moment) to frustrate a possible return of Led Zeppelin to the stage. Next 13 of October arrives the new disc of the British author that will be published with the title of Carry Fire. Robert Plant launches the eleventh album of his career and again accompanied by his band, The Sensational Shape Shifter. We had already heard the song "The May Queen" as an advance. Donovan (born Donovan Philips Leitch; 10 May 1946) is a Scottish singer, songwriter and guitarist. He developed an eclectic and distinctive style that blended folk, jazz, pop, psychedelia, and world music (notably calypso). He has lived in Scotland, London and California, and, since at least 2008, in County Cork, Ireland, with his family. Emerging from the British folk scene, Donovan reached fame in the United Kingdom in early 1965 with live performances on the pop TV series, Ready Steady Go!.
Having signed with Pye Records in 1965, he recorded singles and two albums in the folk vein, but after a new contract with US CBS/Epic Records his popularity spread to other countries. After extricating himself from his original management contract, he began a long and successful collaboration with Mickie Most, a leading British independent record producer, with hits in the UK, the US and other countries.
His most successful singles were the early UK hits "Catch the Wind", "Colours" and "Universal Soldier" in 1965. "Sunshine Superman" topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart (number two in Britain), and "Mellow Yellow" reached US number two the following year, with "Hurdy Gurdy Man" in the Top 5 in both countries in 1968. He was the first artist to be signed to CBS/Epic Records by the new administrative vice-president, Clive Davis. Donovan and Most collaborated on hit albums and singles between 1965 and 1970. He became a friend of pop musicians including Joan Baez, Brian Jones and The Beatles. He taught John Lennon a finger-picking guitar style in 1968. Donovan's commercial fortunes waned after parting with Most in 1969, and he left the industry for a time.
