The super-rich, if you will ... It was their looks that fascinated me ... This was a particular sub-classification of the rich – New Yorkers ... They were all of a certain age – but what age? It was impossible to tell; none of the usual signs was there – they were all firm and lean and toned and had faces like unruffled mill ponds ... It was one of the Guardian’s top stories of the day ... Though there are a few ifs....
