The Stonehenge Conspiracy
A reexamination of the theory that the stones at Stonehenge were carried by Neolithic tribesmen from sites far away, including West Wales. It is concluded that this is nothing but a popular myth; that the sarsens were collected locally; and that the bluestones were in all probability carried by glacier ice to the vicinity of Stonehenge. There they were collected up over a wider and wider radius --

Stonehenge -- Secrets of an Ancient Monument

More than 5,000 years ago, the farming people of what is now southwest England began an epic construction project. Its creation would span one and a half millennia, in stages that saw it grow from a ditch-encircled earthen mound to a mighty circle of colossal standing stones -- some of them brought from the mountains of distant Wales.

2004 Documentary - Naked Science Season 1 - Who Built Stonehenge?
Naked Science is an American documentary television series that premiered in 2004 on the National Geographic Channel. The programme features various subjects related to science and technology.
Stonehenge, England's most mysterious ancient monument, on a site older than the Pyramids of Ancient Egypt. 85 massive stones, some weighing more than 40 tonnes, stand guard on a remote and wind-swept plain. Why is it here, what is it for, how was it built? The answers are lost in the mists of time. Myth links Stonehenge to England's mysterious druids, Celtic priests said to have practiced ritual sacrifice. What we do know is that some of the rocks at Stonehenge were transported more than 200 miles across the waters of England's widest tidal estuary. Naked Science demonstrates how these stones could have been carried such a vast distance, and raised into place, using just the primitive technology possessed by Ancient Britons almost 5000 years ago. And, for the first time, the film employs modern forensic investigation techniques to examine human skeletons found near the site and recreates the face of one man who may have worked on the construction of this astonishing, ancient structure.

I used to think Stonehenge was cool and mysterious. Now it is as cool and mysterious as gum on my shoe. My video shows that Stonehenge is clearly not an ancient site. Was it once? Who cares? But now it has been taken down and rebuilt a few times just in the last 100 years. So, it is AT BEST a replica. Of course it is still in school books and on National Geographic with no mention of all the concrete filler and cranes used to erect the former ancient site. These photos are from around the mid 1950's when smart guys decided to give Phoney Stoney a little re-do by removing stones, having the ground excavated and digging new deep holes for the stones to sit in with an added READYMIX base. What a joke.
And you can no longer really get very close. They say they wanted to close the nearby road to "restore the dignity of the site". HAHA, dignity was stolen from the site long ago. I would now rank it in the 3,000,000-4,000,000 range of important sites on Earth.
STONEHENGE NOW DATES BACK TO the 1950's. PERIOD.

There they were collected up over a wider and wider radius -- and eventually, the builders lost motivation, ran out of energy and ran out of stones. So Stonehenge was really just an aberration or a folly, and it was never finished.

But why was Stonehenge built? And what was its true purpose?
What prompted them to embark on such a colossal project, without the wheel and with only primitive stone tools? How did they move and raise the gigantic blocks that make up Stonehenge's celebrated circle? And what do the alignments of the stones, which track the Sun and Moon with pinpoint precision, really signify?
This fascinating film delves deep into the mysteries of our long-lost past in the search for clues -- and comes up with answers that are as surprising as they are thought-provoking.

Stonehenge is an icon of prehistoric British culture, an enigma that has seduced archaeologists and tourists for centuries. Why is it here? What is its significance? And which forces inspired its creators? Now a group of international archaeologists led by the University of Birmingham and the Ludwig Boltzman Institute in Vienna believe that a new state-of-the-art approach is the key to unlocking Stonehenge's secrets. For four years the team have surveyed and mapped every monument, both visible and invisible, across ten square kilometres of the sacred landscape to create the most complete digital picture of Stonehenge and the surrounding area over millennia. Known monuments have yielded more data than ever before, revealing hidden structures within, and new finds are revolutionising the very timeline of Stonehenge.
Operation Stonehenge takes the viewer on a prehistoric journey from 8000BC to 2500BC as the scientists uncover the very origins of Stonehenge, learning why this landscape is sacred, preserved and has been revered by following generations. Evidence of war and conflict, as well as the cultivation of ideas and industry, is explored to reveal complex communities with international trade links as far-reaching as Spain and central Europe.
Using CGI to reveal the monuments hidden beneath Stonehenge and featuring factually sourced dramatic reconstructions, the stories of the buildings and the people that occupied this sacred landscape over four millennia ago are revealed in comprehensive detail.

Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located in Wiltshire, England, about 2 miles (3 km) west of Amesbury and 8 miles (13 km) north of Salisbury. One of the most famous sites in the world, Stonehenge is the remains of a ring of standing stones set within earthworks. It is in the middle of the most dense complex of Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments in England, including several hundred burial mounds.[1]
Archaeologists believe it was built anywhere from 3000 BC to 2000 BC. Radiocarbon dating in 2008 suggested that the first stones were raised between 2400 and 2200 BC,[2] whilst another theory suggests that bluestones may have been raised at the site as early as 3000 BC.[3][4][5] More info visit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stonehenge

About two hours from London, Stonehenge (http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/visit/places/stonehenge/) is truly an incredible place to visit. For my first visit, I did a luxury day trip from London in a luxurious new Mercedes E-class from Executive Connection (http://www.executiveconnection.co.uk). I was picked up from my London hotel, and we went first to Bath, then to Salisbury Cathedral and finally to Stonehenge. The driver also served as a tour guide, telling us all kinds of interesting information along the way. Afterwards, he drove us back to the hotel. No waiting, no rushing to catch trains and waiting for taxis, it was seamless and wonderful.

Despite being relatively small, Malta, an island that lies in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea between Sicily and Africa, offers the travelers lots of natural beauties and historical monuments. There are some megalithic temples, which resemble Stonehenge, a mighty fortress system, romantic cities, and breathtaking baroque and renaissance palaces. Most of Malta’s settlements were built by the knights of St. John of Jerusalem that is why the cities resemble each other so much. Among the natural beauties stand out the Blue Grotto Cave of Malta, and the Azure Window of Gozo. The docks are full with colorful boats. The mild climate and the crystal clear water make Malta a place, worth spending the holiday
