Beyond it’s massive C+ high gain and impact, the JP-2C also shines for mid-gain rhythm and crunch sounds at lower gain settings as well as delivering the classic vocal and sustaining Mark series solo tones. This playthrough showcases lush harmonic layering that remains even, detailed and crisp for modern rock rhythm sounds, tight punch and attack for palm muted rhythm, tasty clipped clean sounds with the gain and mid cranked in Ch. 1 (with the Tele), and the smooth, soaring Mark IIC+ lead sounds with humbuckers. Oh yeah - and some tasty slide tones with a Gold Top Les Paul and some P-90s. Recorded with various guitars and pickups (see below for details) into the JP-2C at 60 watts and a 2x12 Rectifier Compact cab with Vintage 30s. Mic’d with a Shure SM57, Mojave MA-301 FET mic, and the CabClone in Open Back position. No EQ or added post production other than mic & CabClone blending (amounts below).
