Lancelot Richard Gibbs (born 29 September 1934) is a former West Indies cricketer, one of the most successful spin bowlers in Test cricket history. He took 309 Test wickets, only the second player (after Fred Trueman) to pass 300, the first spinner to pass that milestone, and had an exceptional economy rate of under two runs per over. He was, however, a very poor batsman, who never made a half-century in first-class cricket.
Gibbs made his first-class debut in 1953–54, playing for British Guiana against MCC at his home ground of Bourda. In MCC's first (and indeed only) innings, he bowled Denis Compton for 18 to leave the tourists precariously poised at 51/3. Gibbs also took the wicket of Tom Graveney – but by then a mammoth fourth-wicket partnership of 402 between Graveney and Willie Watson had propelled MCC towards an innings victory, so Gibbs did not get a second chance to bowl.
Gibbs played a few more first-class games for British Guiana over the next few years, and some good performances (including 4/68 in the final of the Quadrangular Tournament against Barbados in 1956–57) gained him selection for the West Indies side to host Pakistan the following season. He made his debut in the second Test at Port-of-Spain, taking four wickets in the match, and retained his place for the rest of the five-match series, his first five-wicket haul in first-class cricket coming when he claimed 5/80 in the fourth Test at Bourda.
Gibbs may refer to:
The lance was a pole weapon or spear designed to be used by a mounted warrior or cavalry soldier (lancer). During the periods of Classical and Medieval warfare it evolved into being the leading weapon in cavalry charges, and was unsuited for throwing or for repeated thrusting, unlike similar weapons of the spear/javelin/pike family typically used by infantry. Lances were often equipped with a vamplate – a small circular plate to prevent the hand sliding up the shaft upon impact. Though best known as a military and sporting weapon carried by European knights, the use of lances was widespread throughout Asia, the Middle East and North Africa wherever suitable mounts were available. As a secondary weapon, lancers of the Medieval period also bore swords or maces for hand-to-hand combat, since the lance was often a one-use-per-engagement weapon; assuming the lance survived the initial impact intact, it was (depending on the lance) usually too long, heavy and slow to be effectively used against opponents in a melee.
The West Indies is a region of the Caribbean Basin and North Atlantic Ocean that includes the many islands and island nations of the Antilles and the Lucayan Archipelago.
After the first of the voyages of Christopher Columbus to the Americas, Europeans began to use the term West Indies to differentiate that region from the Indies (South Asia and Southeast Asia).
From the 17th through the 19th century, the European colonial territories of the West Indies were the French West Indies, British West Indies, the Danish West Indies, the Netherlands Antilles (Dutch West Indies), and the Spanish West Indies.
In 1916, Denmark sold the Danish West Indies to the United States for US $25 million in gold, as per the Treaty of the Danish West Indies. The Danish West Indies became an insular area of the US, called the United States Virgin Islands.
Between 1958 and 1962, the United Kingdom reorganised all their West Indies island territories (except the British Virgin Islands and the Bahamas) into the West Indies Federation. They hoped that the Federation would coalesce into a single, independent nation. However, the Federation had limited powers, numerous practical problems, and a lack of popular support; consequently, it was dissolved by the British in 1963, with nine provinces becoming independent sovereign states and four becoming British Overseas Territories.
Alvin Isaac Kallicharran (born 21 March 1949) is a former West Indian batsman of Indo-Guyanese ethnicity who played from 1972 to 1981. Kallicharran was born in Georgetown, British Guiana (now Guyana). His brother Derek played first class cricket for Guyana and later the United States of America. A left-handed batsman and right-arm off spinner, Kallicharran was known for his elegant, watchful batting style. He was a Wisden Cricketer of the Year for 1973. He was part of the 1975 and 1979 teams that won the Cricket World Cup. His highest score is 187 against India in the 1978–79 tour. He also found success with Warwickshire in English County cricket. While playing against minor county Oxfordshire in the 1984 one day Natwest Trophy he scored 206 and took 6 for 32.
One of his most noted international innings, a knock of 158 against England, was shrouded in controversy when he was run out by Tony Greig on the final ball of the first day. He attempted to join World Series Cricket, but failed, and was appointed captain of the West Indies in 1977–1978 when Clive Lloyd resigned over the Packer issue. Kallicharan was later involved in further controversy when he led an unofficial rebel tour to South Africa in defiance of the Gleneagles Agreement and anti-apartheid protesters in that country who asserted that official sporting structures were discriminatory. He saw out the rest of his career playing for Orange Free State and Transvaal in South African domestic cricket. He is currently manager of Lashings World XI.

Back in the 80s, few New York City drug lords — if any — had more sway than Lorenzo “Fat Cat” Nichols. At 29, he ruled the southeastern Queens drug trade with an iron fist. He ordered up murders like Chinese takeout. When Nichols wanted Myrtle Horsham killed, he tapped a top lieutenant, Brian “Glaze” Gibbs. Corey Pegues tells how he went from drug dealer to cop in memoir “She claimed she had been robbed, but it didn’t make sense,” Gibbs recalled in one of a series of lengthy Daily News interviews. “He called a hit on her and pulled me aside and told me to do it.” Gibbs told two men from his crew to kill Horsham five days before Christmas. Hilary "Larry" Angelo Gomes (born 13 July 1953) is a former Trinidad & Tobago and West Indian cricketer. He toured England with the West Indian Schoolboys team in 1967 and he made his first-class debut as a left-handed batsman for Trinidad & Tobago versus the New Zealanders in 1971/72. He joined Middlesex in 1972 and played between 1973 and 1976. He won a Benson & Hedges Cup Gold Award. He became a successful number three batsman for Trinidad and West Indies. He was also part of the team which reached the 1983 Cricket World Cup finals in England. Larry's flamboyant "fuzzball Afro" was not matched by flamboyant strokeplay; he regularly kept bat and pad close together. The Packer years gave him his first international opportunity for West Indies and later, when the fences had been mended,...

A thousand years of slavery, coming to an end, and the wars created, destroyed so many men. All those lives lost, in the name of Jesus Christ, believing in blind faith, they made their sacrifice. Destroying cultures or anything pure in it's path, follow the church or you'd face it's wrath. On blood and flesh, your empire was built, for the genocide of nations, fess up to your guilt.
SINNERS REPENT... BOW BEFORE ME!!! YOUR SAVIOR IS NEAR... BOW BEFORE ME!!! GIVE UP YOUR SOUL... BOW BEFORE ME!!! THERE'S NOTHING TO FEAR... BOW BEFORE ME!!!
The forces of nature takes it's course, pride topples guilt, with no remorse. Myth of the century is proven wrong, might masters right, the weak don't belong. Pride and hatred go hand in hand, For centuries of preaching your hate, once again, the lion's den awaits your fate.
Lions, whips, Judeo-Christians, ...LET THE SPECTACLE BEGIN!!! Lions, whips, Judeo-Christians, ...CHEERING ON AS THE COLOSEUM FILLS!!! Lions, whips, Judeo-Christians, ...CENTURIONS FLOGGING YOUR BODIES SORE!!! Lions, whips, Judeo-Christians, ...CAN YOU HEAR THE MIGHTY LIONS ROAR!!!
Claiming to be messengers of peace, but there are so many child molesting priests. Acts of perversions have gone untold, how many lies are bought and sold? Blind lead the blind in search of faith, only feeling guilt with no pride in their race. Who gets saved when their walls tumble down, tell me where the fuck is your messiah now.
WE ARE ALL EQUAL... BOW BEFORE ME!!! IN THE EYES OF HIS GRACE... BOW BEFORE ME!!! HE IS COLORBLIND... BOW BEFORE ME!!! HE DOESN'T SEE RACE... BOW BEFORE ME!!!
