Our one dying wish as the successful 12-season long series of
Two and a Half Men aired last night, was for TV’s most infamous douchey dude,
Charlie Harper (played by
Charlie Sheen) would return just one last time…
So although it didn’t come true, the finale DID answer the burning question: Did
Charlie really get hit by a moving train in
France? And the answer, of course, is definitely NOT.
And it’s no surprise that Charlie and
Alan’s insanely weird neighbor
Rose, played by
Melanie Lynskey, has had him locked in a pit inside her basement the entire time, while he’s been trying to plot his revenge on Alan, played by
John Cryer and Walden, played by
Ashton Kutcher who took over when Charlie left…
The episode featured many other returning characters, like
Amber Tamblyn, who plays Charlie’s daughter,
John Stamos,
Arnold Schwarzenegger and
Christian Slater. Of course, Alan’s son,
Jake, played by
Angus T. Jones, came back for a cameo of his own, who we must say, looks like he was the one who was trapped in Rose’s dungeon this who time…
So even though Charlie was stuck in a pit being force-fed tuna sandwiches and vodka by Rose, he put his manipulative powers to good use. Throughout the episode he terrorized Alan and Walden with texts messages, emails, and signs around the house, but his main form of revenge was to divide his two and a half million dollar music royalties up among those closest to him, minus his brother Alan.
All of these signs eventually led Alan and Walden to speculate that Charlie wasn’t actually dead, aaaand they started making amends with everyone they've ever known and loved, including Alan’s ex,
Judith, played by
Marin Hinkle,
Kandi, played by
April Bowlby and
Bridget, played by
Judy Greer.
And of course one of my absolute favorite characters,
Berta, played by
Conchata Ferrell, gave some of her last hilarious commentary. Nearing the end of the episode, she jokes that if Charlie is still alive, he should move in with Walden and QUOTE, "we can keep this going for another five years."
The episode nears the end after Charlie drugs Christian Slater, leaving him as bait for the police, played by
Arnold, which then led
Alan, Walden and Berta to believe they were free, but shortly after, a helicopter approaches with a piano delivery. We’re not exactly sure who’s idea the piano was but it looked like a plot only lead by someone as conniving as Charlie, himself to fall on top of Alan, Walden and Berta. BUT
WAIT, plot twist! After a Charlie-Sheen-looking figure rang the doorbell, the piano landed on him. AND SCENE.
After the final cut, the camera turned to the
REAL mastermind behind the scheme, Two and a Half Men creater
Chuck Lorre, sitting in his director’s chair, saying the one iconic word to put the show to rest for good:
Annnnd another one bites the dust….
BUT you’re probably all wondering if Charlie Sheen even had the option to return, and we will say that it WAS planned for him to make his very last appearance on the show, but Charlie pulled a Charlie Sheen and took to social media to confirm that it wasn’t going to happen. He said, QUOTE, "
Attention World: If you're looking for my much anticipated cameo on network TV, you'll have to check out
The Goldbergs, Wed Feb.
25th on
ABC!
I go where the love is. #OfcourseI'mnot." It turns out, he didn’t like how the writers would have portrayed his character, so sadly, he was stuck in the pit the entire episode…
Soooo as we bid the hilarious
TV show adoooo, let’s talk about this:
