I've talked about this subject before but with regards to an Asian man in New York City that was successful but white women there weren't interested in him either. It has a lot to do with social status and socialization. White women are conditioned to believe that Asian and Indian men will bring down their status so they stay away from them. But a large part of why they stick to white and black men has to do with what's socially accepted and promoted. I think part of it is also cultural because as you said it's cool, hip and trendy for them to be with black men. Plus if you watch adult content online you rarely see Indian and Asian men with white women. If more content like that was produced and put online it would have the effect of making it more socially acceptable for women to be with men from different backgrounds. Life imitates art and women follow the actions they see in popular media and culture. And being born and raised in Canada you were socially conditioned through television, films and commercials to pursue women from a Western European ancestral past. That's why I believe you are interested in them and less interested in women from your own background. The same goes for me even though I'm of a mixed Eastern European background.
