Every time we come across a track by Stephan Bodzin, whether it's an original or a remix, we know it's going to be something special. And by special we mean high quality. Bodzin can be quite diverse in his productions but he always manages to maintain a certain kind of sound. You could call it a 'drive' combined with melodies that carry meaning, depth and unpredictability. This remix is showcasing exactly that. In the first three minutes, the listener already experiences an intro, build up, break and energetic drop. You could argue that Bodzin puts his cards out on the table too soon. But after those three minutes the fun really starts. Because what follows is a huge break with several build ups, that lasts for about three minutes on itself! Should we even be calling it a break if it comprises almost half of the entire track? Goosebumps at the 4:30 mark where delays and reverbs create yet another build up, but instead of leading to a massive bang, alternatively there's a whisper. After which Bozin slowly incorporates other elements back into the track. The anticipation towards the end remains intense. Stephan Bodzin is such an accomplished and experienced producer, he knows exactly how to pull his listeners into a track without the use of simplistic song structures. Perhaps it's because of his background in classical music, maybe it's the fact that he used to produce music for theaters earlier in his career. But the fact remains that this guy is very, very good in converting human emotions into high quality music. - DW.
