WingsOfRedemption lives about halfway between FPS Russia and I so I had this idea that we should meet up by his house and have a bit of fun. Wings brought a few guns, I brought a few guns, and Russia filled up his truck with enough guns take out an army of zombies.
It was a good day. BTW, I should note that there is nobody on the other side of the lake. This place is in the middle of nowhere, it's all safe.

This pistol wasn't perfect and I had a few glitches out of 350 rounds but it still makes for a good Zombie killer and a load of fun on the range! It doesn't always not work... oh wait, yes it does! It's the Calico Liberty. Before you ask, YES I WOUND THE MAG! IT DOESN'T HAVE FEEDING PROBLEMS, IT HAS PROBLEMS EJECTING THE EMPTY BRASS. This video details my pathetic attempt to buy an iconic pistol I used to lust after in my childhood, and the brutal let-down of meeting my hero. The Calico Liberty sucks for the same reason the Lamborghini Countach sucks: on paper it looks great, it's space-age, sleek, fast, high capacity and built with proven tech.. and yet somehow Calico, like the Italians, managed to screw it all up. The difference is despite the Countach's poor build quality, crummy transmission, aged engine tech and a host of other not-quite-so-practical features, it actually works as a car, whereas the Calico... just doesn't work as anything... well maybe a paperweight. Add to that my equally abysmal experience with Sutton Gun and Pawn in Ozark MO, and you have the perfect firearms shit-storm of ultra-shitty-ness.

This is an update to my previous video, which kind of went viral on Youtube with regards to my Calico Liberty 3 pistol. I want to address negative comments right off the bat: if you leave a hateful comment on this video or the original, I will delete it and boot your rear off my channel. Period. Now for those of you who are looking for a little buying advice and want to see exactly what you can expect with a Calico Liberty pistol, please stick around, this may interest you. Out of the box, the gun does not work with 124 gr standard pressure PPU ammo, which functions well in every other 9mm pistol or rifle I've ever fired. After a significant amount of lubrication, buffing with scotchbrite on the rough portions of the bolt and cleaning, I was able to get it to run about 80% reliably with that PPU ammo. It feeds well, no issues there, but it has a hard time extracting the empty casings. On the other hand it runs really well on 147 gr Federal HST +P ammo, my favorite defensive load. I couldn't get it to malfunction on that expensive, 1$ a round ammunition. So clearly there are some ammo choices that are good and bad for this gun, it appears to like either heavy bullet weight ammos or high pressure ammos. I don't have any 147 gr standard pressure ammunition laying around or 124 gr +Ps, so I'll have to snag a box of each and figure out if there's some reliable middle ground between expensive ammo and reliable function. So just to go on record, because I'm all about truth here, NO THE CALICO ISNT THE WORST GUN IN THE WORLD, it tried hard to be but I wouldn't let it. Now it's somewhat working and I think I may have found a potential solution to the problem.

In 2009 I took a break from deer hunting to run a magazine of various 22LR ammo through a Calico M100. Turns out the Calico did not like some of the ammo. The Federal 22 ammo I used was some pretty low end (way less than $10 per brick). After I tried it in the Calico I remembered why I had it lying around. Turns out none of my 22 autoloading guns will run this stuff. Some editing was done to keep it under 10 minutes and clearing jams. All in all the Calico shoots great as long as you use High Velocity ammo.

This is an update to my previous video, which kind of went viral on Youtube with regards to my Calico Liberty 3 pistol. I want to address negative comments right off the bat: if you leave a hateful comment on this video or the original, I will delete it and boot your rear off my channel. Period. Now for those of you who are looking for a little buying advice and want to see exactly what you can expect with a Calico Liberty pistol, please stick around, this may interest you. Out of the box, the gun does not work with 124 gr standard pressure PPU ammo, which functions well in every other 9mm pistol or rifle I've ever fired. After a significant amount of lubrication, buffing with scotchbrite on the rough portions of the bolt and cleaning, I was able to get it to run about 80% reliably with that PPU ammo. It feeds well, no issues there, but it has a hard time extracting the empty casings. On the other hand it runs really well on 147 gr Federal HST +P ammo, my favorite defensive load. I couldn't get it to malfunction on that expensive, 1$ a round ammunition. So clearly there are some ammo choices that are good and bad for this gun, it appears to like either heavy bullet weight ammos or high pressure ammos. I don't have any 147 gr standard pressure ammunition laying around or 124 gr +Ps, so I'll have to snag a box of each and figure out if there's some reliable middle ground between expensive ammo and reliable function. So just to go on record, because I'm all about truth here, NO THE CALICO ISNT THE WORST GUN IN THE WORLD, it tried hard to be but I wouldn't let it. Now it's somewhat working and I think I may have found a potential solution to the problem. -

Turns out the Calico did not like some of the ammo. The Federal 22 ammo I used was some pretty low end (way less than $10 per brick). After I tried it in the Calico I remembered why I had it lying around. Turns out none of my 22 autoloading guns will run this stuff. Some editing was done to keep it under 10 minutes and clearing jams. All in all the Calico shoots great as long as you use High Velocity ammo. -

WingsOfRedemption lives about halfway between FPS Russia and I so I had this idea that we should meet up by his house and have a bit of fun. Wings brought a few guns, I brought a few guns, and Russia filled up his truck with enough guns take out an army of zombies. It was a good day. BTW, I should note that there is nobody on the other side of the lake. This place is in the middle of nowhere, it's all safe. -

It doesn't always not work... oh wait, yes it does! It's the Calico Liberty. Before you ask, YES I WOUND THE MAG! IT DOESN'T HAVE FEEDING PROBLEMS, IT HAS PROBLEMS EJECTING THE EMPTY BRASS. This video details my pathetic attempt to buy an iconic pistol I used to lust after in my childhood, and the brutal let-down of meeting my hero. The Calico Liberty sucks for the same reason the Lamborghini Countach sucks: on paper it looks great, it's space-age, sleek, fast, high capacity and built with proven tech.. and yet somehow Calico, like the Italians, managed to screw it all up. The difference is despite the Countach's poor build quality, crummy transmission, aged engine tech and a host of other not-quite-so-practical features, it actually works as a car, whereas the Calico... just doesn't... -

I want to address negative comments right off the bat: if you leave a hateful comment on this video or the original, I will delete it and boot your rear off my channel. Period. Now for those of you who are looking for a little buying advice and want to see exactly what you can expect with a Calico Liberty pistol, please stick around, this may interest you. Out of the box, the gun does not work with 124 gr standard pressure PPU ammo, which functions well in every other 9mm pistol or rifle I've ever fired. Turns out the Calico did not like some of the ammo. The Federal 22 ammo I used was some pretty low end (way less than $10 per brick). After I tried it in the Calico I remembered why I had it lying around. Turns out none of my 22 autoloading guns will run this stuff. Some editing was done to keep it under 10 minutes and clearing jams. All in all the Calico shoots great as long as you use High Velocity ammo. -

It doesn't always not work... oh wait, yes it does! It's the Calico Liberty. Before you ask, YES I WOUND THE MAG! IT DOESN'T HAVE FEEDING PROBLEMS, IT HAS PROBLEMS EJECTING THE EMPTY BRASS. This video details my pathetic attempt to buy an iconic pistol I used to lust after in my childhood, and the brutal let-down of meeting my hero. The Calico Liberty sucks for the same reason the Lamborghini Countach sucks: on paper it looks great, it's space-age, sleek, fast, high capacity and built with proven tech.. and yet somehow Calico, like the Italians, managed to screw it all up. The difference is despite the Countach's poor build quality, crummy transmission, aged engine tech and a host of other not-quite-so-practical features, it actually works as a car, whereas the Calico... just doesn't work as anything... well maybe a paperweight. Add to that my equally abysmal experience with Sutton Gun and Pawn in Ozark MO, and you have the perfect firearms shit-storm of ultra-shitty-ness.

This is an update to my previous video, which kind of went viral on Youtube with regards to my Calico Liberty 3 pistol. I want to address negative comments right off the bat: if you leave a hateful comment on this video or the original, I will delete it and boot your rear off my channel. Period. Now for those of you who are looking for a little buying advice and want to see exactly what you can expect with a Calico Liberty pistol, please stick around, this may interest you. Out of the box, the gun does not work with 124 gr standard pressure PPU ammo, which functions well in every other 9mm pistol or rifle I've ever fired. After a significant amount of lubrication, buffing with scotchbrite on the rough portions of the bolt and cleaning, I was able to get it to run about 80% reliably with that PPU ammo. It feeds well, no issues there, but it has a hard time extracting the empty casings. On the other hand it runs really well on 147 gr Federal HST +P ammo, my favorite defensive load. I couldn't get it to malfunction on that expensive, 1$ a round ammunition. So clearly there are some ammo choices that are good and bad for this gun, it appears to like either heavy bullet weight ammos or high pressure ammos. I don't have any 147 gr standard pressure ammunition laying around or 124 gr +Ps, so I'll have to snag a box of each and figure out if there's some reliable middle ground between expensive ammo and reliable function. So just to go on record, because I'm all about truth here, NO THE CALICO ISNT THE WORST GUN IN THE WORLD, it tried hard to be but I wouldn't let it. Now it's somewhat working and I think I may have found a potential solution to the problem.

In 2009 I took a break from deer hunting to run a magazine of various 22LR ammo through a Calico M100. Turns out the Calico did not like some of the ammo. The Federal 22 ammo I used was some pretty low end (way less than $10 per brick). After I tried it in the Calico I remembered why I had it lying around. Turns out none of my 22 autoloading guns will run this stuff. Some editing was done to keep it under 10 minutes and clearing jams. All in all the Calico shoots great as long as you use High Velocity ammo.

Oh, and fresh bread, and bagels, and pretzels and bunny rabbit shaped biscuits! Buy fresh fish and scallops, and dig in the freezer section for special icecream. With over 100 pieces, most of which need to be assembled and put together and have stickers added, this set is awesome in the true meaning of the word. And the detail on each item is incredible. The Sylvanian Families / Calico Critters families can finally go camping! Well, caravanning and picnicking! This is a value set which includes both the red saloon car and the fabulously awesome retro caravan, there's so much to love here. In this first video we try out the red saloon car - there's enough room for a family of four (or five if you squeeze the kids in in the back seat) and there's even a baby seat. There's picnic food, sandwiches, devilled eggs and a hamper, ooo and for the backseat of the car, snack trays and drink holders. I completely forgot to show it in the video, but there's a nice big trunk that you can store all the picnic gear in, and baby koala can hide in too. I'll have to show off the boot space in the next video.
