Popping Kwon to me is the best representation of Electric Boogaloo Style in the new generation. He has studied with Sam, Pete, and Suga Pop for years and it shows. He really has an understanding of the EB style Boogaloo. He's able to create new routines, and new ways to move within the style.
For those studying this style, this is one of the guys I would watch. His chest rolls, head rolls, shoulder movement, leg rolls, and the fact that he POPS with his rolls, shows he has a high level understanding of the dance. His timing and feeling and groove is all right there.
You won't see Kwon in contests, battles, or events much, but he is there keeping the dance alive and creating great students in the Taiwan/China/Asia part of the world.

Kwon (權) is a Korean family name. Some sources list as many 56 clans, but most of them were merged with the Andong Kwon clan under the Shi'jueng-gong faction soon after the establishment of Republic of Korea.
The Andong Kwon clan was founded by a Shilla aristocrat named Kim Haeng (金幸) who helped Wang Geon, the founder of the Goryeo kingdom, establish himself as ruler in 918. The new king bestowed upon Kim Haeng a new surname: Kwon (權), meaning ‘authority’. The Andong Kwon clan has one of the oldest extant printed genealogies in East Asia.
The Yecheon Kwon clan’s original surname was Huon (昕). However, the name Huon (昕) was chosen for the Koryo king Myongjong’s posthumous name in 1197. To avoid having people using a king’s posthumous name, the Heun(昕) family were directed to change their name to Kwon (權). The head of the Hhn clan at this time became Kwon So, the founding ancestor of the Yech’on Kwon clan. Approximately two thirds of all present-day Kwon clan members live in the Kyongsang provinces. all of Huon(昕) clan disappeared in before Josen.

Popping Kwon to me is the best representation of Electric Boogaloo Style in the new generation. He has studied with Sam, Pete, and Suga Pop for years and it shows. He really has an understanding of the EB style Boogaloo. He's able to create new routines, and new ways to move within the style.
For those studying this style, this is one of the guys I would watch. His chest rolls, head rolls, shoulder movement, leg rolls, and the fact that he POPS with his rolls, shows he has a high level understanding of the dance. His timing and feeling and groove is all right there.
You won't see Kwon in contests, battles, or events much, but he is there keeping the dance alive and creating great students in the Taiwan/China/Asia part of the world.
