Hey Guys! Happy Wednesday. This video is going to be about the fervor surrounding baseball prodigy Mo'Ne Davis, who was subjected to a disgusting, misogynistic tweet from college baseball player Joey Casselberry when he heard the news that she was getting a Disney Channel biopic made.. The sophomore and former first baseman for Bloomsburg University in central Pennsylvania tweeted this disbelief at the movie and also called the 13-year-old Davis a 'slut.' While we are all entitled to our opinions, the amount of misogynistic vitriol hurled at all female athletes, commentators, and the like, is inexcusable, and Mo'Ne being a young, Black girl makes her especially susceptible to such insults. There is a long history in this country of hypersexualizing Black girls and women, and the sexual nature of an insult directed from a 20-year-old grown man towards a 13-year-old child is clearly a place where racism and sexism intersect.
