My name is Gloria Castellanos I am a US citizen however, I grew up in Tijuana Mexico, in a poor community, with limited resources. It gave me an unconventional and compassionate perspective of life and others. I started to assist underprivileged children and families in Tijuana, Mexico since 2006. I, like you, believe every penny raised should go directly to the people in need and that is why I have started this endeavor. I gather donations from friends, family and my personal hard earned money. I do what I can with what I have and receive from others each time, we provide food: beans, rice, flour, spaghetti, canned goods, clothing and basic necessities: shoes, school supplies, hygiene products, toys. Through a core of volunteers and working closely which local churches and their representatives. I believe there’s need everywhere, however, I also believe you should start by giving where your heart leads you, and my heart for now is where I was once raised. I visit Tijuana every quarter. We average 150 children and adults. These past few visits we been limited on quantity of resources as everyone around me including myself is affected by this economy. We have not been able to provide as much as I would love to. With your contribution we can bring some of these resources back to the kids and their families and reach out to more. My personal financial resources can only go so far. With your contribution we can fulfill and go wider in reaching lives. Whatever donation you can provide would be a blessing to the kids and families we help. I would like to start a proper nonprofit foundation and one day build an orphanage; however I do not have enough funds to start my own non-profit 501 c3.
