Been so looking forward to doing this squat variation, and yeah it's so much harder than it looks! Hence baby weights. Upper back, quads, and even glutes (or maybe just cause my poor glutes have been taking a beating lately!) feeling it all. Especially upper back of course, was limiting factor with this exquisitely despicable device that is so much fun :D
Don't think I looked too silly doing it for the first time, form was pretty solid after my warmups. Did this after sumos, can feel how this can help with that movement as well. Hopefully I can up weights on this pretty quick as I get used to it.

After heavy T&G; Bench session to 140 x 1. Spinals a bit crampy when holding heavy weight tight for long, so dropped for "moderate" reps of 2ct pause bench.
115 x 4 @9 - #2 a bit too quick of a pause, otherwise form and shoulder great. Back fine too. Up weight a hair to go for 2-3 reps.
120 x 3 @10 - Form held on good, though RPE up there. Maybe one more, but form would be degraded for sure. Pretty happy with this after long/heavy benching session.

After heavy T&G; Bench session to 140 x 1. Spinals a bit crampy when holding heavy weight tight for long, so dropped for "moderate" reps of 2ct pause bench. 115 x 4 @9 - #2 a bit too quick of a pause, otherwise form and shoulder great. Back fine too. Up weight a hair to go for 2-3 reps. 120 x 3 @10 - Form held on good, though RPE up there. Maybe one more, but form would be degraded for sure. Pretty happy with this after long/heavy benching session.

Been so looking forward to doing this squat variation, and yeah it's so much harder than it looks! Hence baby weights. Upper back, quads, and even glutes (or maybe just cause my poor glutes have been taking a beating lately!) feeling it all. Especially upper back of course, was limiting factor with this exquisitely despicable device that is so much fun :D
Don't think I looked too silly doing it for the first time, form was pretty solid after my warmups. Did this after sumos, can feel how this can help with that movement as well. Hopefully I can up weights on this pretty quick as I get used to it.
