a How-To installing kodi tv on a usb flash drive. Parts
One and Two combined in this video. (not for tvs; for tv use go here: www.tvthatsfree.com)
Basically put an operating system on a flash drive and then install kodi on flash drive
.
... If you don't want to do these instructions, feel free to visit my website and i'll do it for you: http://www.tvthatsfree.com
1.
USE A 3.0
USB FLASH DRIVE (
INSERT AND HAVE
READY TO USE) I RECOMMEND USING AT LEAST A 16GIG FLASH DRIVE ALTHOUGH YOU CAN USE SMALLER TOO.
2. DOWNLOAD Universal-USB-Installer (OR SIMILAR
SOFTWARE; THIS ONE IS
FREE)
3. DOWNLOAD ZORIN
LITE ISO (FROM HERE:http://downloads.sourceforge.net/project/zorin-os/9/zorin-os-9-lite-32.iso?r=&ts;=1459090056&use;_mirror=netcologne )
3B.
MAKE SURE TO
NOTE/REMEMBER WHERE YOU'VE SAVED THE ZORIN ISO
FILE.
4.
LAUNCH THE UNIVERSAL-USB-INSTALLER.
5. IN
FIRST DROPDOWN
BOX IN THE universal-usb-installer,
SELECT ZORIN (ITS ALMOST TO THE BOTTOM OF
THE LIST BUT NOT QUITE THAT
FAR)
6. IN THE SECOND AREA LABELED "step 2" , BROWSE TO FIND/SELECT YOUR ZORIN ISO FILE... AND SELECT IT WHEN FOUND AND CLICK "
OPEN"
7. IN THE LAST PULLDOWN
TAB ON THE universal usb installer SOFTWARE, MAKE SURE TO SELECT THE USB DRIVE LETTER THAT YOU ARE USING. (MAKE SURE TO CAREFULLY SELECT THE ONE THAT YOU ARE PLANNING TO
PUT THE OPERATING SYSTEM ON).
8. WHEN YOU SELECT THAT, YOU WILL SEE A "step 4" ON THE
SCREEN ALLOWING YOU TO USE THE
SLIDE BAR TO
CREATE A PERSISTENT FILE. I RECOMMEND SLIDING THIS ALL THE WAY TO THE RIGHT.
9. NOW CLICK THE CREATE BUTTON AND
SIT BACK AND
WAIT SEVERAL MINUTES FOR IT TO DO ITS THING.
10. WHEN TOTALLY COMPLETED DOING ITS THING YOU BASICALLY NEED TO RESTART YOUR
COMPUTER WITH YOUR
SPECIFIC COMPUTER'S
BOOT MENU OPTION . (FOR EXAMPLE: MY COMPUTER NEEDS ME TO
HIT THE
ESC BUTTON ON
COMPUTE STARTUP TO CHOOSE THE USB OPTION FOR BOOT; ANOTHER OF OUR COMPUTERS REQUIRE TO SELECT F2
UPON START UP TO GET THE BOOT MENU; AND
YET ANOTHER REQUIRES
F12 UPON START TO UTILIZE THE BOOT MENU; YOURS COULD POSSIBLY BE SIMILAR TO ONE OF THESE OR EVEN DIFFERENT AGAIN... I HAVE
MINE TO AUTOMATICALLY RECOGNIZE A USB BOOT
DEVICE SO THE USB FLASH DRIVE ACTUALLY BOOTS AUTOMATICALLY WHEN I START MY COMPUTER - YOU CAN
SET YOURS TO DO THE SAME IN THE BOOT MENU
OPTIONS OF YOUR COMPUTER IF YOU
RESEARCH YOUR SPECIFIC COMPUTER)
11. YOU NOW HAVE AN OPERATING SYSTEM ON A FLASH DRIVE!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
12. ONE OF THE
BEST USES FOR
THIS, IS TO
INSTALL KODI MEDIA CENTER ONTO THIS PORTABLE OPERATING SYSTEM, THUS ALLOWING YOU TO CARRY PORTABLE FREE TV WITH YOU IN YOUR POCKET WHERE EVER YOU GO. pRETTY cOOL!
