Many of the European countries have some independence nationalist movement.
France and Spain are the European countries with the highest number of nationalism. In the region of Brittany in the northwest, there are political parties that advocate a decentralization of the Republic and the recognition of Breton and Gallo at the same level as the French. Some just want more autonomy and independence other directly. In Corsica we can find a strong nationalist sentiment arising from changes of sovereignty the island has suffered in its history. Corsica was part of the Crown of Aragon and later of the Republic of Genoa, until it was sold to France in 1768 there other nationalisms as the Burgundian, Alsatian, Arpitan, or Caledonian Norman.
The United Kingdom consists of four constituent countries: Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England. It is noteworthy that each of these areas has its own nationalist movements, which often are also independence.
Very close to France we have the case of Belgium, whose nationalist movements also affect the Gallic country. Is the case of Flemish nationalism, which claims (in some of its trends) the independence of the lower region of Flanders. In southern Belgium's Wallonia (French-speaking majority) which also has nationalist movements, but more focused on social issues and labor than a real separatism.
Italy is another case where there nationalistic bias. In the south is very popular movement which proposes the independence of the Sicilian people and stand against Italian centralism. Their arguments proponents of this trend is the existence of a history, culture and own language (Sicilian). However some branches of this stream conform to achieve a higher level of self-government. If the Sicilian nationalism is predominant in the south, it is padano in the north. What drove the Northern League party, which claims the territory's independence of Padania, consisting of regions such as Tuscany (Florence), Lombardy (Milan), Piedmont (Turin), Veneto (Venice) and Emilia-Romagna (Bologna) among others. The other, much better in the north than in the south, fed both Sicilian nationalist aspirations as Padanian. Economic development In Italy there is also a Neapolitan, Lombard or Tyrolean nationalism.

"We want to wish them good luck with the referendum today and we hope that they will win, that the 'Yes' camp will win. But I think we are reaching a new Europe now. A Europe from free states, free nations. That is what we want," said Bart de Valck, president of the Flemish People's Movement.
As night fell, demonstrators lit candles and put them on the giant Scottish flag.

Peter Paul Rubens (28 June 1577 -- 30 May 1640), was a Flemish Baroque painter, and a proponent of an extravagant Baroque style that emphasised movement, colour, and sensuality. He is well known for his Counter-Reformation altarpieces, portraits, landscapes, and history paintings of mythological and allegorical subjects.
In addition to running a large studio in Antwerp that produced paintings popular with nobility and art collectors throughout Europe, Rubens was a classically educated humanist scholar and diplomat who was knighted by both Philip IV, King of Spain, and Charles I, King of England.
Rubens was a prolific artist. His commissioned works were mostly religious subjects, "history" paintings, which included mythological subjects, and hunt scenes. He painted portraits, especially of friends, and self-portraits, and in later life painted several landscapes. Rubens designed tapestries and prints, as well as his own house. He also oversaw the ephemeral decorations of the Joyous Entry into Antwerp by the Cardinal-Infante Ferdinand in 1635.
Paintings can be divided into three categories in his workshop --- those he painted by himself, those he painted in part (mainly hands and faces), and those he only supervised. He had, as was usual at the time, a large workshop with many apprentices and students, some of whom, such as Anthony Van Dyck, became famous in their own right. He also often sub-contracted elements such as animals or still-life in large compositions to specialists such as Frans Snyders, or other artists such as Jacob Jordaens.
The Value of Peter Paul Rubens Paintings
At a Sotheby's auction on 10 July 2002, Rubens's newly discovered painting Massacre of the Innocents sold for £49.5 million ($76.2 million) to Lord Thomson. It is a current record for an Old Master painting. The 1976--1977 academic year at the College of Europe was named in his honour.

Peter Paul Rubens Quotes
I paint a woman's big rounded buttocks so that I want to reach out and stroke the dimpled flesh.
Every child has the spirit of creation. The rubbish of life often exterminates the spirit through plague and a souls own wretchedness.
Painting a young maiden is similar to cavorting with great abandon. It is the finest refreshment.
My passion comes from the heavens, not from earthly musings.
I'm just a simple man standing alone with my old brushes, asking God for inspiration.
Each morning I shoo the beggars and cripples from my door stoop. If God wanted these vermin to eat surely he would provide them with substance.
