Komodo National Park lies in the Wallacea Region of Indonesia, identified by WWF and Conservation International as a global conservation priority area, and is located in the center of the Indonesian archipelago, between the islands of Sumbawa and Flores.
Komodo National Park includes three major islands: Komodo, Rinca and Padar, as well as numerous smaller islands creating a total surface area (marine and land) of more than 1,800 km2. As well as being home to the Komodo Dragon, also known as the Komodo Monitor, or Ora (to Indonesians), the park provides refuge for many other notable terrestrial species. Moreover, the Park includes one of the richest marine environments.
See
========
The main reasons to travel to Komodo National Park are the Komodo Dragons, the superb beaches and the unspoilt corals.
Keep in mind that there are also wild pigs, monkeys and horses on Pulau Rinca, one of the two largest islands in the park.
If you return by sea at night, you can also see legions of flying foxes (fruit bats whose wing span may exceed 4 feet) flying in the twilight sky.
At night on the Flores Sea, you also have a magnificent view of the stars.

========

Colombia Destination Guide
Bound by both the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean, the equatorial South American country of Colombia has had a turbulent recent history with its natural beauty and archaeological sites overshadowed by the prevalence of violence stemming from cocaine trafficking and civil conflict. The diverse landscape offers a variety of climates and experiences ranging from Amazon jungles to sun-soaked beaches and modern cities to ancient ruins.
While some areas of Colombia are still considered too dangerous for tourists to venture to, if you stick to the urban cities such as Bogota and Medellin and provincial capitals, while taking precautions and adhering to common sense, the country is relatively safe. If in doubt, be sure to check the current government warnings for any developments.
Warnings aside, there's much to enjoy in the country that brought salsa, cumbia, Shakira and Gabriel Garcia Marquez to the world. The terrain itself traverses coastal beaches, the alpine Andes, central highlands and flat plains. The Spanish-speaking country became independent from Spain in the 1800s and this colonial legacy can be seen in the well-preserved architecture of Cartagena and Villa de Leyva. Visiting pre-Columbian ruins in Ciudad Perdida (Lost City) brings to mind swashbuckling scenes from an Indiana Jones movie -- machete optional!
Colombia is also blessed with abundant natural attributes from the snow-capped peaks and glacial lakes of Parque Nacional de Cocuy to the sandy stretches of beach and deep bays of Parque Nacional Tayrona on the Caribbean coast. Adrenalin junkies not sated by the three-day hike to Ciudad Perdida can enjoy heart-pumping action in San Gil -- the adventure capital of Colombia - with rafting, abseiling and rock climbing among the activities on offer.
To savour the true essence of Colombia, sample the local cuisine and abundance of tropical fruits. Empanadas are a popular dish of meat and potatoes wrapped in a pastry pouch. With coffee and sugar plantations a major part of the country's primary industries, Colombians are unsurprisingly renowned for having a sweet tooth. Locals like to indulge in desserts such as the milk-based arequipe, and drink their coffee black.
Each South American country has its own regional music and dance style and for Colombia that's salsa and cumbia. For a taste of Columbia's renowned nightlife, head to Bogota or Cali, known as the salsa capital of South America. Don't be intimidated by the tricky step changes, locals are more than happy to teach you. For a Latin American destination with a difference, Colombia has all the moves.

Travel Philippines, Season 2, Ep4. Dumaguete City, province of Negros Oriental. It is the capital, principal seaport, and largest city of the province. Nicknamed "The City of Gentle People". Shopping and eating out is often cheaper compared to larger cities if you know the local language and culture. Some people maybe interested in retiring in Philippines to live their dreams. I highly recommend you visit first to explore areas you are interested in. Take a few weeks or months to see if you like it and can fit in. I know successful expats who stayed and have a happy life, and others who left Philippines after a few years. Living in a city long term is not the same as a short vacation. So you will have to get use to local standards. A local standard of living cost can be very affordable, depending on your lifestyle. But a high Western standard like living in America or Australia would cost the same or more than living back home in USA or AU. I've seen other party goers living beyond their means and they get into trouble or run out of money real quick.

City Burger, San Jose St, Dumaguete. Inato BBQ chicken.
Catching up with some local pinoy friends.
Hayahay Treehouse Bar and Viewdeck restaurant, Flores Ave Piapi, Escano Beach, Dumaguete (further up Rizal Boulevard).
Travel Tips:
Everyone spoke English and generally very friendly.
It is important to have photo ID for flights, hotels, and if police ask.
It is common for taxi drivers in Manila and every other city to try rip you off, or overcharge foreigners. Ask them nicely to put the meter on, or negotiate the price from the start. Ask locals what it costs to your location. If you are not comfortable, don't use that taxi. Don't be afraid to move on and find another taxi!
Shopping mall culture, locals love the mall for the aircon and to get out of the heat.
Generally you will notice ash and dust particles in the air as burning trash and charcoal BBQ cooking is quite common. Also if there is a lot of vehicle traffic in that city from Jeepney buses, motorbikes, trucks and cars.
Locals often inflate prices for foreigners and tourists. Haggle and negotiate nicely. Be firm and confident, but always be respectful and polite. Shop around, you can often get a better price. Ask around about local fair pricing for things you want to do.
"Tip" can also mean bribe, so don't be afraid to ask what you're paying for upfront. Locals often do things to try help you, but then expect a tip.
The average basic worker earns PHP200 - 300 a day. So tipping PHP 20 - 50 is fine.

Medellin Colombia
The city is situated in a beautiful valley, offering mountain views from every angle. Combine the natural setting with Spring-like temperatures year round, Medellin offers a very comfortable climate both day and night.
Nightlife in Medellin is a big draw among younger travelers, as paisas love to dance, drink, and party. The women are reputed to be the most beautiful in Colombia, if not all of South America, and that reputation alone continues to attract more and more male travelers.
Most foreigners know little about Medellin other than it was the former home and stomping grounds of Pablo Escobar, and therefore once listed as the most dangerous city in the world. In the last few years, several companies have set up organized tours to cater to the tourist-demand for information on this tragic chapter in the city's history.
Best Things to See and Do
Medellin is home to Colombia's most famous artist, Fernando Botero. In the city center, you can walk through Botero Plaza and get your picture taken amongst a few dozen of his large metal sculptures.
The plaza also features the Museo de Antioquia which features some of Botero's paintings, as well as other Latin artists.
One of the reasons Medellin is a popular place for expats to live in Colombia is the metro system. Medellin features Colombia's only metro train. From the main train line that runs North/South through the city, are several cable cars (like ski gondolas) that run up the mountains to poorer neighborhoods.
These cable cars are meant to give residents easier access to the city, however they also offer a cheap and fun way to get panoramic views of the entire city.
If you prefer adrenaline-pumping activities, paragliding is available for as little as $45 per 25-minute flight.
Where to Eat in Medellin
For a taste of the local cuisine, head to Mondongo's where you can try the mondongo (tripe) soup. Mexican food is often done well, and I'm a fan of 1910 Revolucion Mexicana for the stylish decor as much as the food. And if you're craving excellent creole or north Brazilian food, head to Bonuar, which is adjacent the Modern Art Museum, and features live Blues during the week.
Where to Drink and Dance
While the bars and discotecas around Parque Lleras are always busy on the weekends, there are many more places to party with locals than the Zona Rosa. A paisa favorite is the raucous Dulce Jesus Mio, which is decorated like a mock Antioquian pueblo. Workers dress up as caricatures of typical townspeople. Get there early (9 pm), and ensure you have at least one girl with you, to get a table.
For some of the city's best live salsa music, head downtown to El Eslabon Prendido on a Tuesday night (around 9:30 pm if you want a table). If you actually want room to dance, then go to the upscale Cien Fuegos, which features the biggest dance floor in town.
Best Area for a Night on the Town
Parque Lleras is the most accessible — you can just walk around until you find a bar or discoteca that looks like fun. Or, hop a cab to nearby Barrio Colombia and you'll have a dozen different discotecas to choose from, all within a few square blocks. And you'll see fewer foreigners than in Parque Lleras.
More adventurous visitors will go a bit further to La 33, or La 70, a five-block strip of salsa bars and clubs on the West side of the city.
Getting Around Medellin
Medellin is a large city, so while you'll be able to walk around within neighborhoods, you'll need public transport to get you around the city. Bus rides, which can be confusing at first, cost about 65 cents each, while a single ride on the metro will run you 85 cents.
The metro is very easy to use, clean, and generally safe (there's security at every station and platform). Taxis are metered, and you can go from one end of the city to the other for $6-7.
Events and Festivals
In early July, Medellin hosts Colombia's annual salsa festival. The weekend event is a combination of salsa workshops, competitions, and at night, social dancing.
As the fashion capital of Colombia, Medellin hosts Colombiamoda (fashion week) every July as well. The 3-day event is open to the public during the day (a pass costs about $40), while the runway shows are invite-only.
La Feria de las Flores, the city's annual flower parade, runs from the last week of July through the first week of August. The weekends are busy with parades, including La Cabalgata horse parade, an antique car parade, and the flower parade. There are also lots of concerts and special events held during the 10-day celebrations.

Guía para visitar Ámsterdam.
Tips rápidos
Si no tenéis mucha destreza, evitadlo. El centro es un caos.
Ahí no pude grabar.
7. El mercado de las flores es bonito, pero es la mayoría de semillas. No penséis que vais a ver flores espectaculares.
8. No os podéis perder el barrio rojo por la noche. Es muy curioso.
Os quiere,
Cadepe.

Flores Island in East Nusa Tenggara Province is one of spiritual tourism destinations in Indonesia. In addition to Tuan Ma ritual in larantuka, the shrine of Our Lady of All Nations in the town of Maumere, Sikka, is one that is worth a visit. Located about 7 km from Maumere, precisely in Bukit Keling-Nilo, Wuliwutik Village, District Nita, bronze statues founded from 2004 is the main attraction for pilgrims, both inside and outside the country. February of 2008 and I along with my mother and my uncle had the opportunity to make a pilgrimage to Nilo. From the town of Maumere, Sikka regency capital, we set off in the direction of Southwestern and traveled about 45 minutes by private vehicle. Passing through the deserted road with bamboo forest on both sides of the road, we finally arrived at the entrance to the pilgrimage site on the hill Keling-Nilo. Up to here the trip so interesting. Because the statue of the Virgin Mary Nilo established right at the top of the hill, the start of a few kilometers from the bottom of the hill we can see the statue of the Virgin Mary Nilo which stands majestically in the distance. First statue of the Virgin Mary looks very small, then gradually got bigger and bigger. That unique anymore, as if we were around the Virgin Mary, or as if the Virgin Mary was circling us! Wow, really cool to enjoy a change of scenery like that! Moreover, the atmosphere around the road is still very natural ambience, there are only meadows and trees. It's green and fresh! However, according to my uncle, while the verdant hill because the rainy season. When we come in the dry season, so the atmosphere will be different; dry and brown. It's lucky I came when the season was wonderful. Finally, we arrived at the gate of the location of the statue of the Virgin Mary Nilo. There we have to register first. Because when I came was in February, so not many visitors. However, when looking at the book list of visitors, I surprised myself: visitors found not only on Flores, Indonesia or even alone. Many visitors from Germany, America, and Japan as well! Usually they come in the months of May or October, the months known as the month of devotion to Mary. For that day, it seems only me and my entourage are so diners. Thus, the area of the pilgrimage of Mary Nilo as though so our privately owned. From this portal we still have to walk about half a kilo again to reach the location where the statue is located. And finally, we arrived at the statue of Our Lady of All Nations. See for yourself the statue of Our Lady of All Nations was very close indeed amazing! Statue which has a height of about 18 meters to his image alone, and 28 meters together with the foundation was not only very large, but also very beautiful, with a background of blue sky and clean! The statue that is the tallest building in Sikka was standing on an altitude of 1,600 meters above sea level, facing north towards the town of Maumere. So, the statue of the Lady of All Nations leads to the Flores sea, with Maumere town just below it. As if the Virgin Mary herself who maintain and protect the beautiful coastal city in the Flores mainland. From the pilgrimage area itself we could see Maumere town complete with blue and clean beaches below. And it is said, from the town of Maumere was a statue of Mary the Mother of All Nations can be seen. I imagine, might be exactly the statue of Christ the King in Sao Paolo or in Dilli. Statue of Our Lady of All Nations itself is built on concrete foundations in the form of pole four legs are painted brown and decorated with an assortment of ikat motifs Sikka.

Shepherd Entertainment takes you on a tour of Santana in Madeira, where tourist may believe that they'll see small triangle
shaped thatched housed painted with happy colors all over the island. Actually, these kinds of buildings are only typical in Santana and its immediate surroundings.
Visit Santana on Madeira Island, Portugal
The steep rocky slopes became a wide plateau at Santana. The terrace fields here are very suitable for vegetable and fruit growing and also a lot of willows are planted here. The twigs cut from them during spring are used for basket weaving. Tourist may believe that they'll see small triangle shaped thatched housed painted with happy colors all over the island. Actually these kinds of buildings are only typical in Santana and its immediate surroundings. The local authorities try to protect this small houses scattered about.
Some of them are already just for tourist purposes with small exhibitions or souvenir shops inside but some are still inhabited. As only boards and weeds are used as constructions materials, there's no bathroom in the house or any kitchen in order to avoid fires. Nowadays these facilities are located in a big tradition to the house. Traditionally the living room and the parental bedroom used to be on the ground floor while the children's rooms were upstairs. Considering the sizes, its not surprising that today, only lonely old people live in this huts. However in the vineyards above Santana these are also used as wine press houses or as weekend houses.
The Casa de Como is used to be homes for the poor, well to do people lived in simple houses. We can see many well houses of this kind even today above the Saint Laurence Fortress and in the old town. The really rich, especially the sugar barons, land owners and vineyard owners live on their property in noble houses arranged around a central court. Interestingly, these are quite similar to the luxurious palaces of the Latin American Sugar barons. Fountains often cooled the shady family in the courtyards, the common premises, the living room, library, music hall and dining hall open from here while from the gallery running around the first floor, the luxuries furnished rooms of the family members could be reached.
Some of these noble lodges called Quintal have been transformed into hotels in our days. The former public buildings represent two styles, the Manuel and the Baroque. The 15th Century when King Manuel the first came into the throne, a new architectural style formed all over Portugal. This was the version of the Gothic in which the most bearing feature was richly huge stone ornamentations. The themes, as they can bee seen in the churches in Lisbon and Agaves, were boating, discoveries and exotic sea creatures. Into this time and also later in constructing churches and public buildings carved wooden roofs and tile decorations of Moorish origin were very typical.
The similar way of exaggerated decorative Baroque followed the manual style. This is especially evident on the gold leaf covered main and inside in the churches and in the facades of the many municipal public buildings. The typical furniture on the island and in the 17th century was made of sugar crates. The sugar loving came from Brazil and was packed in reddish brown, leather hard mahogany boxes. The people on Madeira liked this kind of crates so much that they asked the local masters to make furniture from them. Decorated with rod iron straps and mosaics, today an old piece can cost a fortune. The mountains on Madeira are higher than 1,500—1,600 meters providing a good opportunity for para-gliding to see the best meeting panorama from a birds eye view.
Pico de Aurero, Poca de Neva, Pico de Aussies and Pau de Cera is suitable starting points for this sport as these peaks can be approached by car. The Camacha built on a plateau is famous for several things, the tower on the café on the main square looks like Big Ben in London and this is no coincidence. The English sportsman had the house built, there's a memorial plaque on its wall that the first football game in the island was played in 1975 while this English gentleman was the referee. From the tower and from the New Cap Tower next to it we can have a view all the way to the ocean, above the forest of terrace cultivated bay and eucalyptus trees.
