The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has treasure troves of data, says their communications lead Steven Randazzo. Weekend hack-a-thons sponsored by Challenge.gov — an online challenge and crowdsourcing platform administered by the U.S. General Services Administration — result in consumer-based health apps and apps for institutions such as hospitals and new startups.
As communications lead for the HHS Innovations Team at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Steven Randazzo works at the intersection of health and information technology, forging relationships between public and private sectors, seeding innovation, and playing 'match-maker' between the health care marketplace needs and startup companies.

Randazzo (Sicilian: Rannazzu) is a town and comune of Sicily, Italy, in the province of Catania. It is situated at the northern foot of Mount Etna, 70 km NW of Catania by rail. It is the nearest town to the summit of Etna, and is one of the points from which the ascent may be made.
In the 13th century the town had its own army, which fought in favor of the king against the rebels. In 1210 King Frederick II of Hohenstaufen and his young wife Constance of Aragon sheltered at Randazzo to escape the terrible plague which raged in Palermo.
Randazzo became one of the most densely populated towns in the island, after Palermo and Messina. The town was also divided into three main districts: the Greeks lived in St. Nicola's quarter, the Latins in St. Mary's and the Lombards in St. Martin's.
During the Black Death of 1575-1580 the population of Randazzo declined. The economy slumped, and Randazzo almost turned into a ghost town.[citation needed]
During World War II, Randazzo was bombed by the Allies, destroying or damaging 76% of its buildings.

Charles Hardin Holley (September 7, 1936 – February 3, 1959), known professionally as Buddy Holly, was an American singer-songwriter and a pioneer of rock and roll. Although his success lasted only a year and a half before his death in an airplane crash, Holly is described by critic Bruce Eder as "the single most influential creative force in early rock and roll." His works and innovations inspired and influenced contemporary and later musicians, notably The Beatles, Elvis Costello, The Rolling Stones, Don McLean, Bob Dylan, and Eric Clapton, and exerted a profound influence on popular music. Holly was among the first group of inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked Holly #13 among "The Fifty Greatest Artists of All Time".
Charles Hardin Holley was born on September 7, 1936, in Lubbock, Texas, to Lawrence Odell and Ella Pauline (Drake) Holley. In Philip Norman's biography it is stated that his mother's family claimed to be descended from the English navigator Francis Drake.

15 de diciembre de 2014, Buenos Aires: El ministro del Interior y Transporte, Florencio Randazzo, presentó este mediodía el operativo de seguridad vial que se realizará durante la temporada estival en las rutas argentinas. Habrá tareas de prevención para evitar accidentes y se ofrecerán servicios de documentación en centros turísticos. Mediante una ronda de prensa que organizó en la explanada de la Casa Rosada, donde saludó a personal de la Agencia Nacional de Seguridad Vial (ANSV) que trabajará durante el verano, Randazzo enfatizó: “Vamos a tener una fuerte presencia en las rutas con la ANSV generando conciencia, prevención, llevando adelante controles y como último recurso con sanciones”. “La idea es que el Estado esté presente para cuidarnos”, explicó el titular de la cartera nacional, quien en años anteriores logró una disminución de accidentes fatales gracias a campañas similares. In December 2007, investigators into the case of alleged attempts by Silvio Berlusconi to influence RAI stumbled upon evidence that Berlusconi had tried to corrupt Randazzo to cease his support for Prodi's government.[2]

With 152,000 voters, it spans Oceania, Africa, Asia, Antarctica and includes Italian soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The votes of more than 3 million Italians living overseas, including 120,000 in Australia, will be crucial in deciding the winner of Italy's cliffhanger general election. With final overseas votes yet to be counted, L'Unione was last night on track for a two-seat majority in the Senate, putting the four new overseas representatives in a potentially powerful position.
The knife-edge result showed the centre-left coalition headed by Romano Prodi winning 49.8 per cent of the vote in the 630-seat Chamber of Deputies, or lower house, against 49.7 per cent to the centre-right led by incumbent Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi. But the result in the Senate rested upon who wins the remaining six (of 315 senatorial seats) allocated to expatriate candidates.
"I'm very excited," Mr Randazzo said last night at his Essendon home. "I think it will be challenging, rejuvenating and very rewarding to be able to do something to further the interests of Italians abroad."

15 de diciembre de 2014, Buenos Aires: El ministro del Interior y Transporte, Florencio Randazzo, presentó este mediodía el operativo de seguridad vial que se realizará durante la temporada estival en las rutas argentinas. Habrá tareas de prevención para evitar accidentes y se ofrecerán servicios de documentación en centros turísticos.
Mediante una ronda de prensa que organizó en la explanada de la Casa Rosada, donde saludó a personal de la Agencia Nacional de Seguridad Vial (ANSV) que trabajará durante el verano, Randazzo enfatizó: “Vamos a tener una fuerte presencia en las rutas con la ANSV generando conciencia, prevención, llevando adelante controles y como último recurso con sanciones”.
“La idea es que el Estado esté presente para cuidarnos”, explicó el titular de la cartera nacional, quien en años anteriores logró una disminución de accidentes fatales gracias a campañas similares.

Catania is the end of the line for a small railroad that encircles Mount Etna, the Ferrovia Circumetnea. In the heart of Catania various remnants that date back to Roman times indicate the glorious past of the second largest city in Sicily although its origins are far older. The journey around Mount Etna begins in the small and unspectacular station of the privately owned Ferrovia Circumetnea narrow gauge railway. The railroad once travelled to Catania’s harbour and today the line ends in the middle of the city. However, the simplicity of this railroad belies the fact that a journey along it is an absolute must! A couple of kilometres outside Catania there are vast fertile fields. In the background is the mighty and over three thousand metre high Mount Etna, one of the most active and famous volcanoes in the world. The history of the railroad around Mount Etna began at the end of the nineteenth century when it was important that Sicily’s remote cities had ready access to the seaport of Catania.. The journey on the Ferrovia Circumetnea travels through some exceptionally beautiful scenery that contains a number of picturesque farms. The land owes its fertility to Mount Etna as, despite its destructive force, the fertile volcanic ground is ideal for agriculture. Large quantities of carbon dioxide are constantly emitted from Etna’s crater. However, the crater’s white smoke is normally quite harmless. Even though the volcano is active throughout the year eruptions are still relatively rare and the last large eruption was in 2002. Just like a good wine a ride on the Ferrovia Circumetnea improves with age. This must be the most atmospheric way in which to discover the remarkable Mount Etna!
