The Cemetery

The Cemetery (in Swedish: Kyrkogården) is an 1877 painting by Swedish artist Carl Fredrik Hill. The painting is currently on display at the Malmö Art Museum in Sweden.

In the late fall of 1877 Hill suffered from a tense situation where he hovered between arrogance and deepest despair. The contact with the outside world, with his comrades, became less and less. His studio door in Paris was shut. In his Christmas letters to his family in Sweden from 1877 Hill recounts the motifs that had occupied him, as well as those he wanted to paint in the future, including a cemetery with a man standing in front of a cross adorned with a wreath.

A picture of the deepest sorrow and desolation. The lone figure's total isolation from the outside world is a dramatic and desperate moment.

The painting was painted shortly before the artist's collapse. It belonged to one of the 18 paintings that Hill wanted to show at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1878.

Cemetery

A cemetery or graveyard is a place where the remains of deceased people are buried or otherwise interred. The word cemetery (from Greek κοιμητήριον, "sleeping place") implies that the land is specifically designated as a burial ground. The older term graveyard is often used interchangeably with cemetery, but primarily referred to a burial ground within a churchyard.

The intact or cremated remains of people may be interred in a grave, commonly referred to as burial, or in a tomb, an "above-ground grave" (resembling a sarcophagus), a mausoleum, columbarium, niche, or other edifice. In Western cultures, funeral ceremonies are often observed in cemeteries. These ceremonies or rites of passage differ according to cultural practices and religious beliefs. Modern cemeteries often include crematoria, and some grounds previously used for both, continue as crematoria as a principal use long after the interment areas have been filled.

The Oxford English Dictionary defines a cemetery as a "burial-ground generally; now esp. a large public park or ground laid out expressly for the interment of the dead, and not being the ‘yard’ of any church. (Cemetery c)" and specifies that the term "...originally applied to the Roman underground cemeteries or catacombs " Cemeteries are normally distinct from churchyards, which are typically consecrated according to one denomination and are attached directly to a single place of worship.

List of cemeteries in China

This is a list of cemeteries in the People's Republic of China. Many others—particularly in central urban areas—were destroyed during the Cultural Revolution of the late 1960s and 1970s, which regularized the use of cremation even in the cases of religious minorities such as the Hui. Since the Opening-Up Policy began in the 1980s, mortuary sites have been reopened in more out-lying areas, run as commercial operations.

Adventure

An adventure is an exciting or unusual experience. It may also be a bold, usually risky undertaking, with an uncertain outcome. Adventures may be activities with some potential for physical danger such as exploring, skydiving, mountain climbing, river rafting or participating in extreme sports. Speedin' Bullet 2 Heaven

Speedin' Bullet 2 Heaven is the fifth studio album by American recording artist Kid Cudi. The album was released on December 4, 2015, through Republic Records and Cudi's Wicked Awesome Records imprint. The album is a complete departure from his previous projects, excluding WZRD, a 2012 collaborative effort which was his first venture into rock music. Inspired by the 1990's indie music scene, Cudi included commissioned skits featuring Mike Judge voicing the titular characters of his 90's animated sitcom, Beavis and Butt-Head.

Speedin' Bullet 2 Heaven, described by Cudi as alternative music, is the follow-up to his 2014 digital release, Satellite Flight: The Journey to Mother Moon. Serving as a double disc effort, the album comes with 26 tracks in total, with the actual album on Side A containing 18, while Side B is composed of eight tracks, which are mostly demos and outtakes. The album, primarily produced by Cudi himself, was supported by two official singles, "Confused!" and the title-track "Speedin' Bullet 2 Heaven".
