First, he randomly pulled into an apartment complex to let the fanbelt cool off, drove by Dub's (a music club which is now called Sunshine Eagles) where he played live as a teenager.
They even heard "Breakdown" briefly playing on the radio in the car, and passed thru the middle of town where I spotted a Winn Dixie supermarket (no clue where that one is, or if it's still there).
Later they toured Mill Hopper Road walking down to a lovers' lane that he went to in his youth (which, by then, had a wooden staircase walkway), and talked about playing at the University...even almost getting into a fight over a flag shirt he was wearing, and had a drummer beat him for quitting his band.
Lastly, they pulled off to visit a lake and talked about a fishing job he had briefly too.

Gainesville, FL - Stunning dashcam video surfaced Thursday of Alachua County Sheriff's deputies shooting and wounding an armed robbery suspect who raised a gun toward them outside a Gainesville grocery store back in May.
The video shows deputies confronting the suspect outside a Winn-Dixie on North Main Street after 3 p.m. May 12. When deputies order the suspect to keep his hands visible and stand in front of a patrol car, he appears to back away, reach for his pocket and pull out a gun.
Seconds later, he appears to point the gun at deputies, then one of them can be heard shouting, "I will [expletive] kill you," and both deputies open fire. Then the suspect -- later identified as Yowab Ben-Israel, 46, of Gainesville -- collapses in the parking lot.
Ben-Israel, who was wounded by three of 11 shots fired, was hospitalized following the shooting, but survived. He's charged with armed robbery, assault on a law enforcement officer and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, all felonies, Alachua County court records show.
Ben-Israel had allegedly robbed a nearby post office at gunpoint and then rode off on a bike just minutes before the shooting, according to the Gainesville Police Department.
Deputies called to help police spotted a suspect matching his description near a bike outside the grocery store and the armed confrontation unfolded, police said.
The video became public after the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the 8th Circuit State Attorney's Office completed their investigations into the shooting, clearing both deputies involved, authorities told First Coast News.
Ben-Israel is due in court Oct. 5, according to court records.

Florida is called the „Sunshine State”. Visitors mainly come here to enjoy the sunshine, the sea, the never ending sandy shore of the peninsula and the unique atmosphere of Miami. But of course it is worth to spent time on the landscape-protection areas such as the Everglades National Park and its fen, where they can slalom in between the alligators on hovercrafts. The following sights are also significant: Kennedy Space Centre in Cape Canaveral, the House of Hemingway in Key West, the House of Edison in Fort Myers, the Salvador Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg and the oldest American fortress – Castillo de San Marcos - in St. Augustine.Orlando is equally the paradise of pleasant relaxation for kids and adults. With its pristine beaches and palm tree-lined streets, Miami is one of the top tourist destinations in the country.
Start your Miami tour out right with a sample of delicious Cuban cuisine, followed by some Latin dancing. You’ll find plenty of places all over the city to indulge in both, as well as art galleries, theaters, and numerous murals that contribute to Miami’s artistic spirit. Visit South Beach, or SoBe if you’re a local, and admire its Art Deco district, which is full of remarkable pre-World War II architecture.
Continue your Miami sightseeing at iconic Miami Beach, where the streets are lined with palm trees, exotic hotels, and eye-popping cars. Move on to the white sands of the beach itself and lay out in the sun, or try some more physical activities, like paddleboarding, biking, or in-line skating along the boardwalks.
No trip to Miami is complete without a visit to the Everglades and the nearby wildlife habitats, like the Jungle Zoo, where you can get up close and personal with a variety of living creatures. Don’t forget to say hello to the pink flamingos!

Sit back and watch our travel video to discover the best things to do in Orlando, Florida!
Whether you’re looking to plan a family-friendly vacation or simply a getaway where you can act like a kid again, Orlando is the place for you. With roller coaster rides, interactive exhibits, and theme characters galore, it’s no wonder they call Orlando the “Theme Park Capital of the World.” Round up your kiddos or tap in to your child-like spirit and get ready to take on the adventures in the Sunshine State.
Visit Orlando and make your first stop the Mouse of House. High-five all your favorite characters in costumes and marvel at the magnificent fairy tale castle. You’ll feel like a kid again as you cheer on the parades and ride in spinning teacups. Nothing says vacation like watching your little ones’ faces light up at the sight of beautiful princesses and dancing mice. Make wishes and wait for your dreams to come true at this magical destination.
Looking to cool down from the warm Florida sunshine? Splash into the water at Wet ’n Wild. You’ll immediately feel refreshed as you plunge down a six-story waterslide, raft through funnels, and ride the waves in the Surf Lagoon. You can beat the heat in the lazy river, or dive right into the pools at Blastaway Beach™.
If you’d prefer some real-world action and educational experiences, take one of the Orlando tours over to the Kennedy Space Center, just east of the city on Merritt Island. This space station is unique in that you can get up close and personal with the space shuttle launch areas. Venture around the rockets and capsules, and meet and greet astronauts to get the inside scoop on traveling in outer space.
Still have enough time for one more stop while you’re in town? Make it Universal Studios®. From tapping into some magic at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ to hanging out with your favorite crime fighters at Marvel Super Hero Island®, this theme park will have you begging to stay longer.
Between wildlife attractions and thrill rides, you don’t have to be a kid to appreciate all the fun Orlando has to offer. Take a look at our Orlando city guide video to get more tips on what to do during your next jaunt in central Florida.

In southern Florida there is a unique world of water, swampland and dense jungle-like forest: the Everglades, a truly magical environment full of mystery, myth and fascinating nature. For many centuries this huge swamp area was inhabited by the Seminole Indians and today the Everglades are one of the greatest natural attractions in the U.S.A. Unlike the somewhat daunting appearance of the alligator the surroundings here are far more benign. The pink flamingo has for many years been associated with Florida and everywhere the croaking of frogs fills the air. There is a huge variety of birdlife as the vast areas of swampland are an ideal habitat and the water is not only rich in fish, various predators can also be found in large numbers. A total of six hundred species of fish live in the waters of the Everglades and in the summer months when the water level is particularly high there are huge shoals of fish to be found but in the dry months of winter they travel to deeper waters. The alligator is the indisputed king of these marshlands and no other creature is as powerful. We don’t only intend to observe the alligators from the shoreline, we also want to see them from within the water. They’re everywhere! Because of their valuable skin they were once almost exterminated. It is a fallacy that the alligator is a bloodthirsty, murderous creature as, unprovoked, this primeval reptile is almost indifferent to our presence and even from a close distance it remains perfectly calm. Despite all the recent encroachment by Man, the world of the alligator has retained much of its mysterious and magical aura and the allure of this unique region still continues to impress in a very remarkable way.

Orlando - Florida Travel Guide http://goo.gl/uTleH8
If there was ever a city dedicated to enjoyment, then Orlando is it. Even the most cursory drive through the city will tell you one thing: there is no disguising the fact Orlando is a city built on theme parks. Lots of them. Strange to think that until 1966, though, there was precious little here in central Florida. A few roadside attractions aside, it was one man, Walt Disney, who really changed the scenery here. No matter which way you slice it, growth has spiralled thanks to a huge influx of tourists that followed the arrival of Walt Disney World Resort.
Almost all of Florida's cities and resorts are based around its long coastline, naturally capitalising on the beaches or swampland national parks that attract so many international visitors. Orlando is the only real exception, a strange, idiosyncratic place in the middle of the Floridian wasteland, and coincidentally one of the most famous resort towns in the world.
There are conflicting legends as to how the city of Orlando came by its name, from heroic soldiers to local cattle ranchers to a nod to Shakespeare. Whatever the case may be, some 47 million tourists a year come to see the place for themselves.
From the original Magic Kingdom, which opened in 1971, the colossal Disney empire has added three more theme parks, two water parks and a host of associated developments, including hotels, shops and golf courses to make it a true 'World' resort.
With Disney setting the example, SeaWorld (three theme parks) and Universal (two) have added to Orlando's reputation as the family entertainment capital of the world. Between them, they draw nearly 50 million visitors every year, and that has meant a huge growth in associated hotels, restaurants and shops, plus a host of smaller-scale attractions.
However, this young city has also developed its own identity that stretches beyond the wearing of plastic mouse ears and thrill rides. There are a significant number of high-tech industries relocating here, and the downtown area is fast developing yuppie overtones. There are even ambitious plans to become a major cultural centre. Orlando is also the USA's number two convention location; the attraction for incentive activities for competing sales teams is no mystery.
There has been a stab at giving the city some historic context with the promotion of 'Old Orlando', which is part of Downtown, encompassing Orange Avenue and Garland Avenue. There's also a historic district around Lake Eola, with brick streets lined with old oak trees. Some of the homes here may have been originally built by the wealthy citrus traders of the late 19th century.
Having said that, the main attraction for 99% of visitors remains the theme parks, together with the likes of the nearby Kennedy Space Center. There are also some charming, retro-looking former roadside attractions such as Gatorland that have survived as lucrative sidelines to the more high-tech main attractions. And, in order to attract the all-important repeat visitors, Orlando has become adept at re-inventing itself and providing new attractions at regular intervals.

is a city in the U.S. state of Florida, on the Atlantic coast 23 miles (37 km) north of Miami. It is the county seat of Broward County. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 165,521.[4] It is a principal city of the South Florida metropolitan area, which was home to 5,564,635 people at the 2010 census.
The city is a popular tourist destination, with an average year-round temperature of 75.5 °F (24.2 °C), and 3,000 hours of sunshine per year. Greater Fort Lauderdale which takes in all of Broward County hosted 12 million visitors in 2012, including 2.8 million international visitors. The city and county in 2012 collected $43.9 million from the 5% bed tax it charges, after hotels in the area recorded an occupancy rate for the year of 72.7 percent and an average daily rate of $114.48. The district has 561 hotels and motels comprising nearly 35,000 rooms. Forty six cruise ships sailed from Port Everglades in 2012. Greater Fort Lauderdale has over 4,000 restaurants, 63 golf courses, 12 shopping malls, 16 museums, 132 nightclubs, 278 parkland campsites, and 100 marinas housing 45,000 resident yachts.[5]
Fort Lauderdale is named after a series of forts built by the United States during the Second Seminole War. The forts took their name from Major William Lauderdale (~1782-1838), younger brother of Lieutenant Colonel James Lauderdale. William Lauderdale was the commander of the detachment of soldiers who built the first fort.[6] However, development of the city did not begin until 50 years after the forts were abandoned at the end of the conflict. Three forts named "Fort Lauderdale" were constructed; the first was at the fork of the New River, the second at Tarpon Bend on the New River between the Colee Hammock and Rio Vista neighborhoods, and the third near the site of the Bahia Mar Marina.

from Gatorville is an emotional and electrifying evening. The band
performs songs from their three-decade career, including rarely played
gems, influential covers, and songs from Petty's recent solo album,
Highway Companion. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are just getting
warmed up at the beginning of the second hour as the barrage of hits

keep coming with "Don't Come Around Here No More," "Running Down a
Dream" and "You Wreck Me." Joined again on stage by their very special
guest Stevie Nicks for several songs, highlights include "Learning to
Fly," and the concert closer "American Girl."
