An adventure is an exciting or unusual experience. It may also be a bold, usually risky undertaking, with an uncertain outcome. Adventures may be activities with some potential for physical danger such as exploring, skydiving, mountain climbing, river rafting or participating in extreme sports. The term also broadly refers to any enterprise that is potentially fraught with physical, financial or psychological risk, such as a business venture, a love affair, or other major life undertakings .
Adventurous experiences create psychological arousal, which can be interpreted as negative (e.g. fear) or positive (e.g. flow), and which can be detrimental as stated by the Yerkes-Dodson law. For some people, adventure becomes a major pursuit in and of itself. According to adventurer André Malraux, in his La Condition Humaine (1933), "If a man is not ready to risk his life, where is his dignity?". Similarly, Helen Keller stated that "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing."
A noun (from Latin nōmen, literally meaning "name") is a word that functions as the name of some specific thing or set of things, such as living creatures, objects, places, actions, qualities, states of existence, or ideas.Linguistically, a noun is a member of a large, open part of speech whose members can occur as the main word in the subject of a clause, the object of a verb, or the object of a preposition.
Lexical categories (parts of speech) are defined in terms of the ways in which their members combine with other kinds of expressions. The syntactic rules for nouns differ from language to language. In English, nouns are those words which can occur with articles and attributive adjectives and can function as the head of a noun phrase.
Word classes (parts of speech) were described by Sanskrit grammarians from at least the 5th century BC. In Yāska's Nirukta, the noun (nāma) is one of the four main categories of words defined.
The Ancient Greek equivalent was ónoma (ὄνομα), referred to by Plato in the Cratylus dialog, and later listed as one of the eight parts of speech in The Art of Grammar, attributed to Dionysius Thrax (2nd century BC). The term used in Latin grammar was nōmen. All of these terms for "noun" were also words meaning "name". The English word noun is derived from the Latin term, through the Anglo-Norman noun.
In set theory, when dealing with sets of infinite size, the term almost or nearly is used to mean all the elements except for finitely many.
In other words, an infinite set S that is a subset of another infinite set L, is almost L if the subtracted set L\S is of finite size.
Examples:
This is conceptually similar to the almost everywhere concept of measure theory, but is not the same. For example, the Cantor set is uncountably infinite, but has Lebesgue measure zero. So a real number in (0, 1) is a member of the complement of the Cantor set almost everywhere, but it is not true that the complement of the Cantor set is almost the real numbers in (0, 1).

Our Dream of Sailing around the World started in 2012, when we brought our first boat. During our first attempt to cross the Atlantic, we lost our rudder and had to be rescued by Helicopter. After a very long year, the insurance finally paid the full amount and we were then able to get Skye. In February 2015, we Sailed Skye from Mallorca to Las Palmas, where we stayed for almost 1 year and prepared her for the next voyage across the Atlantic. January 2016 we set sails for our second attempt to cross the Atlantic.Since then, we’ve been living our Sailing Dream with a lot of adventures along the way. Never Give Up On Your Dreams…. The Mediterranean Sea is a world of impressive diversity where ocean sunfish and whales live side by side, and colourful corals provide a home for smaller creatures. But human beings have left their mark here for thousands of years: ancient shipwrecks and fighter planes from the Second World War litter the ocean floor, while until recently raw sewage was fed straight into the sea. The impact has been devastating – today the Mediterranean is an ecosystem on the edge. But there is a glimmer of hope as measures to protect the sea from pollution and excessive disturbance are being put into place. Sandrine Ruiton from the University of Marseille specialises in research on artificial reefs to build up the lost marine biodiversity near cities like Marseille, one of the Mediterranean’s busiest po...

Parajumpers’ latest visual travelogue episode dedicated to brave-hearts of all kinds follows the footsteps, or rather waves, of Massimo Rossetti himself, the brand's Creative Director, who is also a passionate sailor in his free time. For Rossetti, life is not something to be tamed. It’s something to be conquered, a chance to forge your own path, to tell stories that lie deep within yourself, and to stand up for what you believe in – and what better place to conquer life than on a sailing boat, a vintage one. “Stories is about boundary-pushing personalities who are inspired and driven by everyday beauty, something we often tend to ignore” explains Rossetti. “We want to give them a voice, to let them tell their very own stories – Stories that become the filter through which we define ...

Get your free audio book: http://rswp.us/f/b007soq3vq It was a dogs life, he was told, in the sailing ships that killed on average one man every voyage. And 'greeny' soon discovered that you had to eat hard tack teeming with live maggots and weevils, or starve. Then came the biting cold, scorching heat, gales, doldrums, wild seas, brutish officers (including the captain), a cloud of lethal vapour that enveloped the ship and appalling deaths. The crew, ignoring superstitions, even slaughtered a majestic albatross for fun. Yet, floating above all the hardship was the beauty and romance of sail, which enslaved a teenage dreamer for ever.'sons of gentlemen' were middle-class boys at the beginning of the 20th century who aspired to become Merchant Navy officers just like the men who commanded...

...and it caught me off guard.
The way things that I was so sure of simply crumbled away.
I woke up with winter inside of bones.
I'd never been so sure of anything.
You were the ocean, I was the sand beneath your waves.
And all the things that pushed us together
Are all the things that pulled us apart.
But I figure this is best
Considering my intentions
Just to chase, chase, chase until I'm satisfied
Then throw you away.
You were the ocean. I was the sand beneath your waves.
Everything I ever was ultimately added up to so much less than I had ever hoped for.
I am the furthest thing away from what you see in me.
But there have been times when there was no difference between you and I.
I wondered what sort of lesson was built in to all of this.
What should I take away?
Learning from this sort of thing isn't easy when
Your solutions are mistakes.
You were the ocean. I was the sand beneath your waves.
Everything I ever was ultimately added up to so much less than I had ever hoped for.
I am the furthest thing away from what you see in me.
But there have been times when there was no difference between you and I.
And you said all I ever do is run away...
I am the ocean. You are the sand beneath my waves.
Everything I ever was ultimately added up to so much less than I had ever hoped for.
I am the furthest thing away from what you see in me.
But there have been times when there was no difference between you and I.
