Welcome to San Antonio, one of America’s top travel destinations.
Start your San Antonio sightseeing with a tour of 18th century Spanish missions and several iconic attractions by the Paseo del Rio, also known as the River Walk. The River Walk is accessible by vintage trolleys or even river taxis that will offer you a unique view of this thriving downtown.
Indulge in TexMex and European food from the restaurants strewn across the city. When you’re ready to continue your San Antonio tour, you can spend hours wandering the San Antonio Museum of Art, which is housed in an old brewery. Ready for some sunshine? Head to Market Square to enjoy live performances, merchant stalls full of goods to purchase, and a perfect opportunity for people-watching.
If you’ve brought the kids (or even if you’re on your own), you can head to the San Antonio Zoo and mingle with zebras and hundreds of other animals. Cap off your trip with a visit to the top of the Tower of the Americas, where you can see the entire city lit up beneath you.

San Antonio ~ Texas ~ Discover San Antonio ~ Travel Guide
officially the City of San Antonio, is the seventh most populous city in the United States of America and the second most populous city in the state of Texas, with a population of 1,409,019.[1] It was the fastest growing of the top 10 largest cities in the United States from 2000 to 2010, and the second from 1990 to 2000.[4][5] The city is located in the American Southwest, the south–central part of Texas, and the southwestern corner of an urban region known as the Texas Triangle.
San Antonio serves as the seat of Bexar County. The city has characteristics of other western urban centers in which there are sparsely populated areas and a low density rate outside of the city limits. San Antonio is the center of the San Antonio–New Braunfels Metropolitan Statistical Area. Commonly referred to as Greater San Antonio, the metropolitan area has a population of over 2.27 million based on the 2013 US Census estimate, making it the 25th-largest metropolitan area in the United States and third-largest in the state of Texas. Growth along the Interstate 35 and Interstate 10 corridors to the north, west and east make it likely that the metropolitan area will continue to expand.
San Antonio was named for Saint Anthony of Padua, whose feast day is on June 13, by a 1691 Spanish expedition in the area. It is notable for Spanish colonial missions, the Alamo, the River Walk, the Tower of the Americas, the Alamo Bowl, and Marriage Island. Commercial entertainment includes SeaWorld and Six Flags Fiesta Texas theme parks, and the city is visited by approximately 26 million tourists per year, according to the San Antonio Convention and Visitors Bureau. The city is home to the five-time NBA champion San Antonio Spurs and hosts the annual San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, one of the largest such events in the country.
The US armed forces have numerous facilities in San Antonio: Fort Sam Houston, Lackland Air Force Base, Randolph Air Force Base (which constitute Joint Base San Antonio), and Lackland AFB/Kelly Field Annex, with Camp Bullis and Camp Stanley located outside the city. Kelly Air Force Base operated out of San Antonio until 2001, when the airfield was transferred to Lackland AFB. The remaining portions of the base were developed as Port San Antonio, an industrial/business park. San Antonio is home to six Fortune 500 companies and the South Texas Medical Center, the only medical research and care provider in the South Texas region.

San Antonio - It was here that the world-renowned Hilton Hotel had its beginning and claimed for San Antonio a famous son, Conrad Hilton. Born December 25, 1887, Conrad became business partners with his father in 1915 and bought his first hotel four years later in Cisco, Texas. Today, the once prosperous Hilton section of San Antonio is reduced to an old post office building, a few other deserted buildings, and ruins. Present-day San Antonio, a functioning community, lies just north of the older section. San Antonio has some excellent Bed and Breakfast establishments that cater to visitors who come to see the migrating birds at the nearby Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. Manuel Antonio National Park - Costa Rica Tourism (HD)
Travel Videos HD, World Travel Guide http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=World1Tube
Located 120 miles (192 km) from San Jose on the Pacific coast, Manuel Antonio National Park is internationally recognized as being one of the most biodiverse parks on the planet. Lush tropical forests, lagoons, mangroves and pristine white sandy beaches make up one of the most diverse ecosystems imaginable. Among the 109 species of mammals and 184 species of birds, some of the frequently viewed residents include white-faced and howler monkeys, two and three toed sloths and iguanas. The endangered squirrel monkey calls the park home as well.
The park contains a great system of well marked trails to allow visitors to explore (maps may be purchased at the park entrance). The four beaches in the park, Espadilla Sur, Manuel Antonio, Escondito and Playita, are some of the best in the country. Espadilla Sur and Manuel Antonio offer very good snorkeling when the water is clear, which is best during the dry season. At 236 feet (72 m) high, Cathedral Point lies between Playa Espadilla Sur and Playa Manuel Antonio. It is connected to the mainland by a narrow land bridge and if you&re; up for the hike, provides a memorable view. Playa Manuel Antonio offers a glimpse into the past with pre-Columbian turtle traps made of stone. Surfing, swimming or just relaxing under the sun are favorite activities for park goers.
Manuel Antonio National Park is open Tuesday through Sunday from 7:30 am to 4 pm. Regulations have been in effect to limit the amount of visitors to 600 on weekdays and 800 on weekends and holidays. To avoid large crowds, early morning from May to November may be the best time to experience the park. Peak months are from December to April. The entrance fee is $6 and free for children 12 and under. Petty theft is common around the park so be sure not to leave your possessions unguarded.
Landscape in Manuel Antonio National Park, Costa Rica
=========
The park is 682.7 Hectares in size; partly land, partly sea and mostly known for its beautiful beaches and wildlife. It is Costa Rica's smallest park. There are four primary beaches in Manuel Antonio: Espadilla Sur, Manuel Antonio, Escondido and Playita. This national park is located on the pacific coast of Costa Rica in the province of Puntarenas.
Flora and fauna
============
In the park there is a lot of wildlife to be seen: Squirrel monkeys, white-faced monkeys, sloths, iguanas, crabs, toucans, bats, birds and golden orb spiders.
Please do not feed the monkeys As tempting as it may seem and even if others are doing it, please do not feed the monkeys. The reasons to avoid this are endless and doing so contributes to the endangerment of the animals in and around the park. Do not feed any of the wild anaimals. They are devloping a tatse for Human food and will steal your lunch. You will be thrown out. The signs warning you of this are in English.
See in Manuel Antonio National Park, Costa Rica
========================
The beach. The prettiest beach is the furthest from the park entrance by the cul-de-sac. You enter the park and walk past two beachs in the natational park untill you make the turn to the left. It is a white sand beach about ½ mile in length, in a small crescent. The beach is about 40 feet from the jungle to the water. The waves are gentle and the current is not strong. The beach itself is free of trash and litter, as are most beaches in CR. There is no life guard.
Outside the National park there is another beach, which you will pass on the way to the National park, it is free to enter. One this beach one can rent chairs, surf and boogie boards, and purchase a massage. The waves are siginificantly larger. There is no life guard. There are no life guards at these beachs and one swims at their own risk. There are no marker bouys signling how far it is safe for one to go. There is not a dangerous current, as of summer 2007, at Manuel Antonio, but any person should familarize them selves with how to swim out of a rip current when going to a new beach that has no life guard.
Do in Manuel Antonio National Park, Costa Rica
=======================
1 - Hiking in the national park. There are 4 short trails in the park (1-3 km). You can do the most common one with a guide and then once your tour is over, take time to follow one of the other trails, and also go swim.
2 - Wildlife watching with guide. $20 per person.
3 - Fishing Best place in the world to bend a rod. Huge sailfish and Marlin caught nearly every trip.
4 - Relax at the beautiful beaches inside the park. Water is normally clear-blue in color.

There are four primary beaches in Manuel Antonio: Espadilla Sur, Manuel Antonio, Escondido and Playita. This national park is located on the pacific coast of Costa Rica in the province of Puntarenas.
Flora and fauna
============
========================
=======================

The Chorus Pass includes entry to 16 of Venice's churches, including the spectacular Basilica of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari and the church of Santa Maria Formosa. The pass is valid for one year and is available for purchase online, at the tourist office and from participating churches.
The Museum Pass allows entry to 10 civic museums, including the Doge's Palace. The ticket is valid for six months and allows a single admission to each museum.
Basilica dei Frari (Church of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari)
The glorious gothic Church of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, constructed around 1330, is primarily associated with the name of Titian, Venice's painter son who is buried here, alongside the city's celebrated sculptor, Antonio Canova. Titian made his reputation and crowned his early years by painting the huge altar piece, The Assumption of the Virgin, for the Franciscan brothers of the Frari in 1518. Titian also executed the painting over the Pesaro family altar in the north aisle. The inclusion of the flag and Turk in the painting alludes to Bishop Pesaro's victory over the Turks at Santa Maura. Titian's tomb, located in the south aisle, faces the large marble pyramid created for Canova, depicting St Mark's lion paying homage to the dead sculptor. Ironically, the design, executed by Canova's pupils, was based on Canova's own plans for a new monument to Titian.
Opening Times: Mon-Sat 0900-1800, Sun 1300-1800.
Admission Fees: Yes
Disabled Access: Yes
Unesco: Yes
Address: San Polo 3072, Venice, Italy
Basilica di San Marco (St Mark's Basilica)
The golden Byzantine St Mark's Basilica was founded in the ninth century as a shrine for the relics of St Mark. Built on a plan of a Greek cross, its Eastern appearance is enhanced by golden mosaics, originally created by craftsmen from the Byzantine court at Ravenna. The interior houses many of Venice's greatest treasures, including the venerated icon of the Madonna Nicopeia. The golden screen behind the high altar - the crypt in which St Mark is supposed to be buried - is the Pala d'Oro, beautifully crafted with sapphires, emeralds and rubies and inset with enamels from Constantinople. Before leaving St Mark's, visitors should pause to admire the 12th-century pavement, a resplendent mosaic of glass and marble. It is possible to book online to avoid the long queues at www.venetoinside.com
Opening Times: Mon-Sat 0945-1700, Sun 1400-1700 (Apr-Oct); Mon-Sat 0945-1700, Sun 1400-1600 (Nov-Mar).
Admission Fees: Yes
Disabled Access: Yes
Unesco: Yes
Address: Piazza San Marco, Venice, Italy
Campanile di San Marco (Bell Tower)
The bell tower, which is located to one side of St Mark's Square, is the tallest structure in Venice and offers a unique view of this fabulous city. At 318 ft (97m) high, visitors prepared to make the lengthy climb can look out over the rooftops of the city. In a strange twist, the view from the top can be good enough on a clear day to catch a glimpse of the distant dolomites, but doesn't allow for a view of any of the canals. The tower collapsed in 1902 and was rebuilt exactly as before.
Opening Times: 0700-1545 (Nov-Apr) 0900-2100 (Jul-Sept).
Admission Fees: Yes
Disabled Access: No
Unesco: Yes
Address: Piazza San Marco, Venice, Italy

The Towers at TPC Parkway in San Antonio, TX recently removed a light switch in both my bathrooms into a single switch. This is now the noise it is ALWAYS making.
Do not move into The Towers at TPC Parkway. Management is not accommodating, parking is awful, some residents are extremely rude, and worst of all, you're harassed by the front office for everything - the least of which being this awful decision to remove the separate bathroom fan switch.
For shame.

(HD) Jimmy Walker wins 2015 Valero Texas Open
Jimmy Walker has won his hometown Texas Open, becoming the first two-time winner on the US PGA Tour this season.
Walker shot a final round two-under-par 70 to win by four strokes from young gun Jordan Spieth (70) at 11-under 277 at TPC San Antonio, a 35-minute drive from his home.
The former Baylor University player won the Sony Open in Hawaii by nine shots in January and has now had five victories in the past two seasons, having previously played the tour for nine years without a title.
Coming off a playoff victory two weeks ago at Innisbrook, 21-year-old fellow Texan Spieth surged home with four late birdies for a 70 to be three clear of third-placed Billy Horschel (71).
Cameron Percy was the leading Australian, tied 15th at one-over after a 69, one shot ahead of Aaron Baddeley (75) with Matt Jones (75) a further shot back.
Walker, who snapped a streak of 10 tour third-round leaders that had failed to win, will take practice rounds for the Masters at Augusta National on Monday and Tuesday.
"I like Augusta," Walker said. "All this adds momentum and confidence. It's what we're constantly building toward."
Spieth will rise from sixth to fourth in the world rankings out on Monday, trailing only world No.1 Rory McIlroy, Swedish world No.2 Henrik Stenson and defending Masters champion Bubba Watson.
Spieth has had eight top-seven finishes in his past 10 worldwide starts which included victory at the Australian Open.

Jimmy Walker stretches lead to four shots after three rounds of the Texas Open
Hometown hope Jimmy Walker fired six birdies in a 3-under-par 69 on Sunday (AEDT) to stretch his lead in the US PGA Tour Texas Open to four strokes.
Walker, who lives just a half-hour's drive from TPC San Antonio, had a 54-hole total of 9-under-par 207 and a comfortable cushion over rising US star Jordan Spieth.
Spieth, the 21-year-old who also hails from Texas, carded a 1-under 71 for 211.
He was two strokes in front of last season's FedEx Cup playoff champion Billy Horschel, who birdied the last three holes in a 71 for 213.
Walker, who captured his fourth PGA Tour title in Hawaii this year, started the day with a one-shot lead over Charley Hoffman and Australia's Aaron Baddeley.
Spieth, who started the day two shots adrift, gained ground with four birdies in a five-hole span on the front nine and was tied for the lead through 13 holes.
He played the final five holes in 1-over par with a bogey at 14 followed by a birdie at 15, double bogey at the par-three 16th and birdie at 17 before he capped his round with a par at the last.
Scott Pinckney carded a 69 to vault into a share of fourth place on 214.
He was tied with former Masters champion Zach Johnson (72), Brendan Steele (72), Jason Kokrak (71) and Chesson Hadley (71).
Australia's Baddeley had a disastrous day, his seven bogeys including four in a row on the front nine on his way to a 4-over 76 that left him on 215, alongside Chris Kirk and Kevin Na.
Hoffman, who led after the first round before slipping to a share of second on Saturday (AEDT), fared even worse - signing for a 79 that left him 11 adrift on 218.

Jimmy Walker shot a 5-under-par 67 on Friday in the Texas Open to take a one-stroke lead in his hometown event.
After a 35-minute drive from his suburban home, Walker enjoyed a neighborly stroll at TPC San Antonio to reach 6-under 138.
Walker overtook first-round leader Charley Hoffman, who is tied for second with Aaron Baddeley, with three straight birdies late in his round.
Hoffman, 8 under at the turn, uncharacteristically let a good round get away on the Oaks Course with three bogeys on his second nine. He finished with a 72 to tie for second with Aaron Baddeley.
Hoffman has two top-three finishes in his previous four appearances at the Texas Open.
Baddeley had a 71.
Kevin Na, who infamously took 16 strokes on a par 4 in the event four years ago, had a 68 to join Texan Jordan Spieth at 4 under. The 21-year Spieth, coming off a playoff victory two weeks ago at Innisbrook, followed his opening 71 with a 69.
The gusts near 40 mph that blew Thursday morning continued to subside, though play started Friday with temperatures in the 40s.
The improved conditions packed the leaderboard with nine players within four strokes of Walker. That included Phil Mickelson, continuing to cram for the Masters less than two weeks off, at 2 under after a second-round 72. He was tied for sixth.
FedEx Cup champion Billy Horschel (70), Zach Johnson (71), Chris Kirk (71) and 2011 winner Brendan Steele (68) also were 2 under.
Johnson felt a jarring sensation in his right ring finger when he hit a rock while swinging from the native area to the right of the 12th fairway. He continued and expects to play this weekend.
Francisco Molinari, the former European Ryder Cup player, withdrew before the round because of a wrist injury he said happened while shooting 81 in the wind Thursday.
Jim Furyk and Dustin Johnson managed to survive for the weekend as the cut dropped a stroke in the afternoon to 6 over. Both made it on the number, and Furyk kept a streak of consecutive cuts made, now at 33. Steve Stricker, not playing this week, has the best active streak at 35.
Martin Kaymer wasn’t close. After shooting his PGA Tour-worst 82 on Thursday, he had an 80 on Friday. The U.S. Open champion told officials in Houston he has changed his plans not to play next week and has committed to the Shell Houston Open to get ready for the Masters.

Graeme McDowell withdraws from Texas Open with leg injury
Graeme McDowell intends to enter next week’s Houston Open in a bid to sharpen his game ahead of the Masters after he withdrew from the Texas Open after just nine holes of the opening round because of a leg injury.
The 35-year-old from Portrush was five over at that stage on a TPC San Antonio course that was proving a tough challenge with slick greens and winds that gusted to 40mph.
McDowell bogeyed the 11th but almost recovered the shot straight away, only to see his chip from off the green slip by the cup. His day went to from bad to worse after that with four bogeys in the next six holes as he turned in 41 shots.
After he came off the course, McDowell tweeted: “Apologies to everyone at @valerotxopen for my withdrawal. Strained my lower left leg/ankle area practicing y/day and played with heavy strapping on it in the pro am and this morning. With The Masters upcoming I decided that getting fit is imperative. Don’t like WDs.
“The week here at @valerotxopen had everything I wanted. Great people and great course. Disappointed this has happened. Thanks to everyone.”
Afternoon starter Charley Hoffman carded a blemish free 67 to take a one-shot lead after the first round.
Hoffman was one of just 12 players to record an under-par round on Thursday as many struggled with two-time Major winner Martin Kaymer firing a 10-over-par 82.
Hoffman took advantage of calmer winds in the afternoon to record five birdies and finish the day a shot clear of Australia’s Aaron Baddeley.
The American picked up shots on the second, third, ninth, 11th and 17th to post the round of the day but the shot of the day undoubtedly belonged to the man a shot behind him.
With the wind behind him on the 336-yard par-four 17th, Baddeley took on the green but missed left and had to go back to the tee after finding an unplayable lie.
That presented the 34-year-old with no problem, though, as he holed what was his third shot to record an improbable birdie.
That had put him in the lead at the time following birdies on the first, second, eighth and 15th and a single bogey on seven but Hoffman overhauled him.
A birdie-birdie finish from Max Homa saw him move into third a further shot back as he overcame a poor start.
The 24-year-old dropped shots at one and five but birdies at six and eight saw him reach the turn level and four birdies and a single bogey on the back nine catapulted him into contention.
Phil Mickelson also had a birdie-birdie finish to get to two under alongside Ryan Palmer after a broken club had briefly contributed to him slipping over par on the back nine.
The five-time Major winner reached the turn one under after a bogey and two birdies and dropped a shot on 10 before putting his tee shot on 12 into a bunker.
His club head then snapped off the shaft upon impact as he played his bunker shot and he dropped a further shot before birdies on 14, 17 and 18 saw him finish strongly.
There was then a group of seven players at one under including Jordan Spieth, Jimmy Walker and Zach Johnson.
Shane Lowry fought back from three straight bogeys from the seventh in a front nine of 39 to card a two-over 74 with birdies coming on the 14th and 17th after he had slipped out to four over with a bogey on the 12th.

Spieth fades, Bowditch leads at 2015 AT&T; Byron Nelson Round 3
Steven Bowditch positioned himself Saturday for his second PGA Tour win in Texas. Hometown favorite Jordan Spieth might have to keep waiting for his first. Bowditch shot a 4-under 65 on Saturday in the AT&T; Byron Nelson to take a two-stroke lead and leave Spieth six shots back heading into the final round.
On a mostly sunny day that started with the second straight three-hour delay because of earlier rain, Bowditch got to 13-under 195. The Australian, who won the Texas Open last year in San Antonio for his lone PGA Tour title, was much steadier a day after a wild second round of seven birdies and six bogeys
Dustin Johnson was in the group tied for second after the day’s low round of 62 on the rain-altered par 69 at TPC Four Seasons.
Jonathan Randolph, playing with Spieth and sitting 266 spots behind him in the world ranking, briefly held the lead but went in the water on 18 for a double bogey that dropped him into a tie with Johnson, Texan Jimmy Walker, Scott Pinckney and Jon Curran. Pinckney shot 64, Randolph 65, and Walker and Curran 67.
Spieth had a 68. The Masters champion was tied for 18th… “I just didn’t have it,” said Spieth, whose first PGA Tour start was in the Nelson as a 16-year-old amateur five years ago.
Curran, the rookie who shared the second-round lead with Bowditch and Walker, rallied with three straight birdies late in the round.
Clouds gradually disappeared during the afternoon and the forecast is clear for Sunday. But the course is still soggy enough that the normally par-4 14th will remain a pitch-and-putt par 3 barely longer than 100 yards for the third straight round.
PGA Tour officials believe it’s the first par-69 course in records going back to 1983. Threesomes will play off both tees again Sunday to give the course more time to dry, and the final par total will be 277 after the first round played at the normal 70.
Bowditch, who held the lead alone after the first round, battled some marshy conditions to stay on top. The 31-year-old who lives in the Dallas area had his only bogey at No. 9, when his tee shot went way right into a water hazard and he had to take the drop in a mushy part of the rough.
The squish of his footsteps could be heard as he spent several minutes discussing his lie with rules official Peter Dachisen before finally hitting. Bowditch shook his head as he walked while the ball rolled onto a cart path behind a bunker left of the hole. He missed a par putt.
Spieth, the world No. 2 and FedEx Cup points leader, missed short birdie putts on his first two holes and never could make a strong push despite another large gallery urging every shot to go in.
That almost happened on the best spectator hole, the par-3 17th, when Spieth’s tee shot landed less than a foot from the pin before backing up and settling about 8 feet away.
Fittingly on a frustrating day, Spieth left the putt on the edge of the cup, bending down to stare at it for a few seconds in case it dropped before the Dallas native tapped it in.
“When I was walking up there I was a little upset it wasn’t a tap-in,” said Spieth, who finished second in the other three Texas events this year — including the water-logged Colonial last week — and got his other tour win at the Valspar Championship in Florida a month before the Masters. “It was a really cool shot. Fun to hit. Crowd went crazy.”
Randolph played a six-hole stretch in 5 under, including an eagle at the par-5 seventh. He was a stroke up on Bowditch after making about a 25-footer at the par-4 12th, with Bowditch pulling even again after almost driving the green on the 323-yard, par-4 11th.
Johnson, who won the Cadillac Championship at Doral in March for his first win since a six-month hiatus for personal reasons, had four birdies in five holes on the front and finished his round by putting his approach at the par-4 18th inside 5 feet for a birdie.. “It’s a fun course to play,” said Johnson, who has finished seventh or better in three of his past four Nelson appearances going back to 2009. “Got to hit all kinds of shots. If you’re hitting the ball well, you can make a lot of birdies.”

It was definitely an indulgence to play at Sawgrass, but it is one of the best courses in the USA and I thought hang the expense, it's all about the experience. I played ok but paid the penalty many times for errant shots. Thank you so much to my caddie for the day Jim, who was great fun, and who helped with this video. Thank you also to my playing partners Mike and Margie Blach, and their caddie .... who all helped make the day a much more enjoyable experience.
This golf course is definitely at the pinnacle of golf courses as far as the conditions on the fairways and greens are concerned, which are as good or better than the pictures online or what I have watched on TV.
The course design will punish errant shots severely, and reward those well placed shots on the fairways and greens.
We played a combination of the blue and white tees. I think slope rating was 144 and just under 6500 yards. The ball sat down in first cut of rough meaning reaching the green on a par 4 was very difficult if you missed the fairway, and you had to lay up in most cases. Water was in play on most holes and if you got in the sawgrass off the fairway, forget finding it. The bunkers were the best and most consistent I have played ever, with beautiful sugar sand to splash out of.
If I ever get a chance to play there again I would spend my last cent to do so it was that good, and I would recommend any keen golfer who gets anywhere near Sawgrass in Florida should pay whatever it costs to experience it too...
