Each tournament Billy found himself at the focal point of every opponents defensive scheme. "Don't let him score" we could hear parents and fans yelling from the bleachers. But it didn't matter, because this kid can give you buckets anyway you want it. Combo dribble pullup jumpers, post game, fadaways, power dunks. Offensively his game is very advanced for a 6'10" Forward. Ballislife South will be covering him all Season with the Loaded API Team. Featuring: Terrance Ferguson, Mark Vital, and Trevon Duval.

William Everett "Billy" Preston (September 2, 1946 – June 6, 2006) was a musician whose work included R&B, rock, soul, funk and gospel. Preston became famous, first as a session musician with such artists as Sam Cooke, Ray Charles and The Beatles, and was later successful as a solo artist with such hit pop singles as "Space Race", "Will It Go Round in Circles" and "Nothing from Nothing", and a string of albums.
Alongside Tony Sheridan, Billy Preston was the only other musician to be credited on a Beatles recording after he was credited on the group's number-one hit, "Get Back", with the record title listed as The Beatles with Billy Preston. Steven Stills asked Preston if he could use Preston's phrase "if you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with" in a song and created the legendary eponymous hit.
William Everett Preston was born on September 2, 1946 in Houston, Texas. At the age of three, the family moved to Los Angeles where Preston began playing piano while sitting on his mother Robbie's lap. Noted as a child prodigy, by the age of ten, Preston was playing organ onstage backing several gospel singers such as Mahalia Jackson, James Cleveland and Andrae Crouch. At twelve, he appeared in the W.C. Handy biopic starring Nat King Cole entitled, St. Louis Blues, playing W.C. Handy at a younger age. A year prior, Preston appeared on Cole's national TV show singing the Fats Domino hit, "Blueberry Hill".

On November 29, 2002, a year after his death, a tribute concert for George Harrison was held at Royal Albert Hall. Friends and family gathered to play his songs, and it was an impressive, if predictable, roster: Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Billy Preston, Tom Petty, and Eric Clapton, who also served as musical director, took center stage, but George's son Dhani Harrison was also there, as was Ravi Shankar's daughter Anoushka, early British rock & roller Joe Brown, and Gary Brooker. Unlike many all-star lineups, everybody had a close personal connection to George.

A rare and excellent recording of the unreleased Soundstage Of The Mind is an asset for the Seattle tape. The rearrangement of In My Life follows but Harrison sings the last line "In my life, I've loved you all" instead of "I've loved God more" as he does later in the tour. The show ends with What Is Life? and the 10-minute long version of My Sweet Lord as the encore...

The Road to Escondido is an album by J. J. Cale and Eric Clapton.
It was released on 7 November 2006. Contained on this album are the final recordings of Billy Preston, to whom the album is dedicated. In 2004, Eric Clapton held the Crossroads Guitar Festival, a three day festival in Dallas, Texas. Among the performers was J.J. Cale, giving Clapton the opportunity to ask Cale to produce an album for him. The two started working together and eventually decided to record an album. A number of high profile musicians also agreed to work on the album, including Billy Preston, Derek Trucks, Taj Mahal, Pino Palladino, John Mayer, Steve Jordan and Doyle Bramhall II. In a coup, whether intended or not, the entire John Mayer Trio participated on this album in one capacity or another. Escondido is a city near Cale's hometown of Valley Center, California, in San Diego County. Eric Clapton owned a mansion in Escondido in the '80s and early '90s. Cale and Clapton thought it would be a good name for the album because of their dual acquaintanceship with the city. The album won the Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album in 2008.
