The Adventure Begins is probably one of the best specials the TV series will ever do! It was simply wonderful, with the characters, the music, the animation, and the adaption really all pulled together! This is probably one of my favorite scenes from the special, the epic crash of James we never saw in the original episode. So here it is in all it's glory, and hopefully this will encourage you to buy the DVD, so you can see it over and over!

Thomas, James, Percy, Diesel - 4 Lionel Trains on 1 Track plus Iron Arry & Bert. James the Red Engine, Diesel, Percy the Small Engine, and Thomas the Tank Engine with Annie and Claribel - all on 1 track. Each train is controlled by it's own infrared remote. Thomas James
Thomas James (c. 1573 – August 1629) was an English librarian, first librarian of the Bodleian Library, Oxford.
Life
He was born about 1573 at Newport, Isle of Wight. In 1586 he was admitted a scholar of Winchester College, matriculated at New College, Oxford on 28 January 1592, and was fellow of his college from 1593 to 1602. He graduated B.A. on 3 May 1595, M.A. on 5 February 1599, B.D. and D.D. on 16 May 1614.
James became a fellow of New College, Oxford in 1593. In 1602, his wide knowledge of books, together with his skill in deciphering manuscripts and detecting literary forgeries, secured him the post of librarian to the library newly founded by Sir Thomas Bodley at Oxford.
At the same time, he was made rector of St Aldate's Church, Oxford. In 1605, he compiled a classified catalogue of the books in the Bodleian Library, but in 1620 substituted for it an alphabetical catalogue. The arrangement in 1610, whereby the Stationers' Company undertook to supply the Bodleian with every book published, was James's suggestion.

The Adventure Begins is probably one of the best specials the TV series will ever do! It was simply wonderful, with the characters, the music, the animation, and the adaption really all pulled together! This is probably one of my favorite scenes from the special, the epic crash of James we never saw in the original episode. So here it is in all it's glory, and hopefully this will encourage you to buy the DVD, so you can see it over and over!

Flexner's four volume biography of George Washington was the first biography to expose Washington for what he really was, a real person with exceptional qualities. In my opinion he is a man to model yourself after. He was not perfect for sure, but he was what we needed at the time to form this great Union that we have. He was the, indispensable man.
When I was 16 or so I read this four volume biography of George Washington, and I found it fascinating. I never knew what kind of a man Washington was until I read this biography. One thing I will always remember is how when he was a young man out in the wilderness, he pulled a man out of the icy river that he had fallen into. He did it effortlessly with only one arm, saving the man from the freezing water. Some don't know it, but Washington was a very tall and powerful man. Some say he stood as tall as 6'4". He was a very big man and he ate a lot of food. Sometimes his dinners with his guests would last as long as 2 or 3 hours.
Not sure if it was in this book, but I read how Washington during a big battle in the French and Indian War survived massive gunfire from Indians. He had two horses shot out from underneath him. He later found multiple bullet holes in his clothing. Later it was recounted by the Chief in charge of the attacking Indians that they had purposefully tried to kill him, but upon their failure the Chief had ordered his men to not fire on the young officer anymore because he was protected by the great spirit in the sky. The Indian Chief concluded that the young officer was not meant to be killed; that he had a greater purpose in life.
Then there was the "Rules of Civility & Decent Behavior in Company and Conversation" that the young Washington modeled his life after. The first two rules are:
1. Every Action done in Company, ought to be with Some Sign of Respect, to those that are Present.
2. When in Company, put not your Hands to any Part of the Body, not usually discovered.
It was not in the rules, but I would add: Do not let your trousers (pants) hang down your butt thereby revealing your butt crack to others.

I still have the last volume of the biography in my bookshelf. Yes, I stole it from the library and I still feel bad about it. Think of all those young kids who never found out how it all turned out, that Washington was the indispensable man. Mr. Flexner's Washington, scrupulously researched from original sources, never chopped down a cherry tree but did have intriguingly flirtatious relationships outside his marriage that stopped just short of the bedroom. Most important, he refused the absolute power that was offered to him, which, as Mr. Flexner pointed out, other revolutionary leaders, from Napoleon to Lenin, did not.
He portrayed a president not afraid to be a little unbuttoned, who enjoyed sipping Madeira, riding after hounds and relishing the latest gossip. Mr. Flexner related that Washington was perplexed by a French sculptor's decision to depict him in a toga.
Writing in The New York Times in 1968, Thomas Lask said that Mr. Flexner ''brought the hero down from Olympus, if not to eye level, at least to where we can see him whole and see him plain.''
Mr. Flexner was born in Manhattan on Jan. 13, 1908. His father, Simon Flexner, was director of research at Rockefeller University. Members of his mother's family, which had deep roots in Maryland, were among the founders of Bryn Mawr College.

100 Thomas & Friends MINIS Thomas The Tank, Metallic James Toy Train Army
Unboxing blind bag study of the Thomas And Friends MINIS surprise toy trains. Looks like some Thomas characters which are more difficult to find than others. It seems the boxes in the toy shops are packed with the same characters most times. Because I know the toy codes and see the robotic packing I can pull off an impressive Thomas The Tank and Metallic James toy train army. Next I unbox the other three boxes of MINIS and add them to the first MINIS toy review we start to see how some characters are very common while others are very rare. More amazing Thomas and Friends toys, Classic Thomas The Tank Tomy playset and loads of other toy trains. You will see Tomy Tomica set 7409 Talk N Action magic rail set. This large early styled Thomas & Friends playset has a specially designed Thomas that reads areas of track to have very special abilities. Then from a bag deploys a Tomy Big Loader set that in very good condition. I also look over other wooden railway styled powered trains, nice to see some basic Brio trains. Moving to the more classic wooden railway we look over Henry, Mavis, Annie, Thomas The Tank and Alfie. As always in these collecting videos a the check out Thomas toys are seen and this time it's 2 Clarabels. A wild card knockoff Thomas toy is also caught up in the collection and goes straight to the bin. Very nice to see some Tomy Playrail via Spencer and a mystery tender. And then a look over some Take Along's via James, Elizabeth and assorted later rolling stock from the Take N Play era. Next is some Tomy rolling stock thats a reminder how nice the faces were on these trains and we also see a Trackmaster Percy thats in good condition. My huge Percy collection will be given away very soon...so be warned!
ABOUT GNOMY TRAINS & GIVEAWAY
Last comes a really special box of amazing toy trains that cost me $10 at a local fair. These trains are Lehmann Friction Motor GNOMY toy trains. They are made in West Germany and to me look like miniature LGB G Scale trains. It's the first time I have seen this style of toy train so I had to do a little bit of research online to understand more. The scary part was the prices this GNOMY train can pull on e-bay. I see on YouTube people converting these GNOMY trains and trams to be powered units, they are very similar in scale to Trackmaster and work best on Thomas Trackmaster 2 track..SHOCK HORROR. I think these trains are from the mid 90's but to be honest I don't really know. One thing I do know is someone on YouTube will prove to me they collect this toy train.
If you're a collector of these stunning GNOMY trains and have videos (not stills) of your collection on your youtube channel please send the video through as a link in a comment of this video. It will be seen as spam but I will look at the video and approve it so you can be considered as a person who can have my box of GNOMY goodness. I will be fairly picky to who gets this box of trains and trams, but I feel it needs to go to a dedicated collector who has shown off their GNOMY trains on YouTube. The series is divided up into sub themes for collecting. There is the Classic Thomas and friends characters, Metallics, Dino, Robo, Hero's, Spooky, Racers, Neon, Chillin, Old School. The theme I like the most is Old School which I will call monochrome. If this series of toys is like any other Thomas toys the ones to collect and look after will be the Metallics. These often hold their price very well and become highly sort after. Overall this is one of the better Thomas & Friends toys to appear for a very long time. I can assure you this toy will be amazing popular with children and parents due to it's reasonable pricing. This could easily be the toy of the year on my YouTube channel. I have seen these toys in K-Mart, Toys R Us and Target. In Australia the price is between $2.90 to $3.00 per blind bag.
