Aakhree Shakti - The Illusion - Part 1
Aakhree
Shakti -
The Illusion, is a "
Virtual Movie". I am one of the BIGGEST fans of 2
Great Indian Actors -
Dilip Kumar &
Amitabh Bachchan.
Obviously, their only movie together,
Ramesh Sippy's Shakti (
1982), is one of my all time favorite movie. There were efforts made to bring together these 2 giants before & after Shakti (1982).
However, it was bad luck of the audience that it did not materialize. This "Virtual Movie" is my homage to all those unfulfilled dreams.I always thought, that how would a movie be if Shakti's theme would be reversed with same principle actors.
Finally, I decided to pursue this uncharted territory! Since, I don't have the wings which will connect/take me on the same orbit as these legends, I had to do it "Virtually".

The name "Aakhree Shakti" is coined from -- "
Concept of Shakti (1982) i.e.
Father& Son at the opposite end of law, with a storyline of
Aakhree Raasta (
1986)".
It's also my sincere gratitude towards all the Great
Editors &
Background Technicians. When we remember any scene, though Actors brilliance &
Director's vision does play a significant a part, without able
Art Direction, Cinematography, Editing &
Sound mixing, it will be a disaster. We always mention the great acting or director's touch etc. but we seldom recognize the brilliance of these equal stakeholders in
Film "Making". At many Indian award functions, they are treated as "Also Ran" category (unlike perhaps
Hollywood). I can't imagine "
Sholay" becoming such a classic, without
R. D. Burman (
Music & more importantly, the
Background score),
Dwarka Divecha (Cinematography) &
M.S. Shinde (Editing). However, we (though very deservedly) ONLY mention great writing, performances & direction.
I have mentioned the original creators in the beginning credits & mentioned the list of original movies in the end credits. They own the copyright of respective work. I don't.
I have no formal training in any of the
Film Making streams & neither have I learned, linear or non-linear editing. Hence, there were many hurdles while executing this adventure. For a brief period, I thought that I will not be able to pull it off! But, I kept my sight on these 2 legends & traded on this herculean (for me!!!) task, all alone.
I look at this entire process as a --Publishing one's THESIS, where in, one refers, studies, analyzes and absorbs from multiple reference points, to come up with his/her own interpretation/view
point & creation. It is made to test my own film making sensibility/capability & NOT with any commercial intent.
I have tried to make this "Virtual Movie", as much seamless & tried to maintain the continuity, but since it's derived from multiple sources, I could not avoid it in
Toto. Hopefully, 99.5% because of the presence of these 2 legends & 0.5%, due to my editing & mixing efforts, it will be in pardonable limits.
Hope you like my "
Original" concept & "Derived" creation.

Hope you like my "
Original" concept & "Derived" creation.
wn.com/Aakhree Shakti The Illusion Part 3
Aakhree
Shakti -
The Illusion, is a "
Virtual Movie".
