Deadly Night Fury.. Rampant WAP7 Bangalore Rajdhani Lashes Duststorm and Thrashes Palwal at MPS!!
Bangalore Rajdhani.the name is enough to describe how savage this Rajdhani can be.From being termed as
Night Scorcher to
Primo Supremo..from Night
King to
Legend Killer..this train has definitely earned more tags than any other train and true to it's tag this train is one of the fiercest Rajdhani's operating in the busy New Delhi-Jhansi-Bhopal-Nagpur route. This train also provides quickest connectivity to Bangalore after 12213/14 YPR-DEE
Duronto and not only this the fierce
SBC Raj is also the fastest train between Delhi-Jhansi,Delhi-Bhopal,Delhi-Nagpur and Delhi-Hyderabad going by the avg. speed. This is one of those trains whose mayhem run of 130 starts and ends in the night itself..be it for 22691/93 or 22692/94.Capturing SBC Raj may be easy for the railfans belonging from
Nagpur,
Hyderabad but it is a daunting task for the
Delhi railfans.The
NZM bound Bangalore Rajdhani may have captured at 130 by several railfans but to capture the SBC bound Rajdhani is surely no walk in the park.Due to it's odd timings it is very difficult to capture the 22692/94 in action,it's 20:45 departure is a bane for the railfans as one can't go to high speed spots so late in the night just to capture this precious train at 130.This task of capturing SBC Raj may seem to be very hard or out of context for others but for me it was just another challenge.
Ever since i had captured the blazing Bangalore Rajdhani at full 130 at
Tughlakabad an year ago,i was eyeing a spot beyond
Ballabhgarh, where i can capture this fierce night hurricane at full throttle. So after a year long wait,i finally got the chance to capture this train once again but this time at
Palwal.
This capture was like one which was destined to be..it was like it was written in the script that i was to be there to capture this moment. After having a super evening outing at Rundhi,i arrived Palwal station at 6:
10pm exhausted after an action packed day.I made sure that i arrived the station early so that i can catch the
Chhatisgarh Exp. and head back home. But fate had planned something different, after buying the tickets i headed to the platform to get some refreshments before my train arrived. While i was gulping down water to cool my throat, the announcements started to roll and to my surprise it was of Chhatisgarh Exp. which was running horrendously 3 hours late. Now i was all horrified as there was no train for NZM before this train, also one option was there of the Agra-NZM
MEMU but that was also running 3 hours late as usual. So with no options i hand i decided to stay put and enjoy the evening mps action at Palwal itself. Palwal is one station which is cursed by
TSR's throughout the year but luckily at that time the line towards
MTJ was caution free while the line towards NZM had a caution of 20 just at the southend of the station. But my prime focus was the MTJ bound action which i really got to cherish at full mps. Barring
Andhra Pradesh Exp,trains liked
JBP bound
Gondwana Exp,GT Exp,Mewar Exp blazed past the station with their respective
WAP-7's at full
MPS.
The station was really getting some good pounding at the hands of SF trains. Now after enjoying the terrific action of the SF trains, the time drew closer to that moment when the real hurricane was to arrive. It was at 8:30 pm and the announcements again rolled informing that the CG exp was now expected to arrive at 9:
10 pm and the AGC-NZM MEMU will now be arriving at 9:35 pm.
Knowing that i had time i went to the stalls outside to fill my tummy before heading back.At 9:00 pm i arrived the station, both determined and excited about the fact that i was going to capture the Night's Scorcher at full throttle. It was 9:15 pm and the time for the pinnacle moment closed by and finally at 9:20 i saw some color alteration of the starter and advanced starter signal. It stood at double yellow and yellow for 3 minutes before an all green was given.
In between this signal changing process,i was getting goosebumps thinking about the aggression which the arriving Raj will display.
Finally it was at 9:27 pm that the penultimate moment arrived,as the beam of yellow light curved it's way towards Palwal from the north,i started to get the adrenaline rush deep inside.Making it's way from NZM,the night scorcher of the Delhi-Jhansi route ie. the 22692 Bangalore Rajdhani led by it's customary
LGD WAP-7#30286 made an scintillating entry at Palwal.
The LP's of the menacing Rajdhani first began this mps spectacle with a terrific honking show right from the north end of the station which was accompanied with some majestic sparking which continued all the way towards the shed where i was standing and then blazed past the station at full notch.
The Hurricane Rajdhani really lashed a super dust storm whose wrath we had to face as every single person on the platform was made to bite the dust which was lashed by the raging Rajdhani. Also hear the terrific track sounds generated by the blazing 18 coach
LHB Raj.
