Eric Praline (John Cleese) is a put-upon customer who seeks to obtain a licence for his pet halibut, Eric, although he has difficulty explaining to the clerk (Michael Palin) how all pets should be licensed.[2] The clerk repeatedly calls Praline a "loony", to which Praline angrily replies by naming famous people who kept odd pets. In response to the clerk's assurance that there is no such thing as (and no need for) a fish licence, Praline requests a statement to that fact signed by the Lord Mayor. The superhumanly tall Lord Mayor (Graham Chapman), with full regalia and entourage, enters the office and hands a thunderstuck Praline the signed statement. An announcer (also Cleese) reverently narrates the exchange, ending by saying that Praline has "gone spare".

“A Book at Bedtime” parodies the long running BBC Radio 4 show of the same name, where stories are serialised and read, usually by well-known personalities.
In this sketch, Jeremy Toogood (Michael Palin) struggles to read “Redgauntlet” by Sir Walter Scott and so is joined by a Second Reader (John Cleese) who takes the book from him and continues to read it aloud. He also struggles with several of the words in the book so a Third Reader (Eric Idle) steps in to, enthusiastically, continue the reading but he also struggles with some of the words. The three are joined by a technician (Graham Chapman) followed by another technician and a make-up girl who all help with various words in the book. Two further crew join (Terry Jones and Terry Gilliam), followed by more crew who all puzzle through the novel together. Even with thirteen people trying to decipher them, words and phrases in the book continue to be mispronounced, until finally Jeremy Toogood, proudly reads out “The End”.
“A Book at Bedtime” premiered on 11 January 1973 in Series 3, Episode 12 of “Monty Python’s Flying Circus”.

"Exploding Penguin on the TV Set" features John Cleese and Graham Chapman as 'Pepperpots' listening to Radio 4’s new drama series, “The Death of Mary Queen of Scots”, in their living room, at the end of which their radio explodes. On seeking alternative entertainment, they turn to see what is on their TV, on top of which is a penguin. A farcical conversation ensues about Penguins - where they come from, how they are labelled, what happens when it lays an egg. The conersation ends with the TV presenter (Terry Jones) announcing that it's time for the penguin on top of the television set to explode. This sketch, from "Monty Python's Flying Circus", premiered on 24 November 1970 in Series 2, Episode 9. The sketch was also featured in the 2014 reunion shows, "Monty Python Live (moslty) - One Down Five to Go", with John and Terry Jones as "Pepperpots".

And Now For Something Completely Different. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjNE8vOkmH4 .
Monty Python (sometimes known as The Pythons) are a British surreal comedy group that created Monty Python's Flying Circus, a British television comedy sketch show that first aired on the BBC on 5 October 1969. Forty-five episodes were made over four series. The Python phenomenon developed from the television series into something larger in scope and impact, spawning touring stage shows, films, numerous albums, several books and a stage musical as well as launching the members to individual stardom. The group's influence on comedy has been compared to The Beatles' influence on music.[4][5][6]
The television series, broadcast by the BBC from 1969 to 1974, was conceived, written and performed by members Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin. Loosely structured as a sketch show, but with an innovative stream-of-consciousness approach (aided by Gilliam's animation), it pushed the boundaries of what was acceptable in style and content.[7][8] A self-contained comedy team responsible for both writing and performing their work, the Pythons' creative control allowed them to experiment with form and content, discarding rules of television comedy. Their influence on British comedy has been apparent for years, while in North America it has coloured the work of cult performers from the early editions of Saturday Night Live through to more recent absurdist trends in television comedy. "Pythonesque" has entered the English lexicon as a result.
In a 2005 UK poll to find The Comedian's Comedian, three of the six Pythons members were voted by fellow comedians and comedy insiders to be among the top 50 greatest comedians ever: Cleese at #2, Idle at #21, and Palin at #30

The regional news program "Look North" from 23 May 1973 featured a news report from the Monty Python team as they were touring around the country with the Monty Python stage show. The report features Graham Chapman, Michael Palin and Terry Jones.
Interestingly the clip starts with what looks like an earlier interview on the set of the "Hermits" sketch from 1969 with John Cleese and featuring the other Pythons, including Graham Chapman in character as The Colonel.

KERA-TV in Dallas was the first PBS station to broadcast Monty Python's Flying Circus, and it was the Pythons' first stop in the US after the premier of Monty Python and the Holy Grail in Los Angeles in 1975. This interview footage first aired live on KERA that year, and hasn't been seen by the public since. It was discovered on an old reel that had been saved by an engineer, and as you can see, it cuts off after about 14 minutes... the engineer taped over the rest. It's a look at the group being candidly questioned by fans at the peak of their fame and creative powers.
