Sint Maarten airport landing & Girls top blown away on Maho beach by Jet blast takeoff St Martin
This was shot at Maho Beach on the Dutch side of the Caribbean island of Sint Maarten. We shot several plane landings and got in the water to shoot this jet takeoff. The jet blast blew everything all over the place, including this girls bikini top. Thumb is at 2:09 This tiny strip of Maho Beach in St Martin is best known for very low landings and approaches. The beach sits directly across from Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM). Experience the jet blasts of a 747 Jumbo Jet taking off just less then a football field away from you. Don't miss the feeling of an Airbus landing just a few yards above your head. Watch people and their stuff get blown across the beach and into the water. You can't experience this anywhere else in the world. It's a BLAST! -

Drunk Gets Blown at St. Maarten Beach!
Sorry, I had one too many rum and Cokes by this point in the day. So yes, I do realize that I am annoying. My family has reminded me many times since then, but it was fun nonetheless. This was taken at Maho Beach on the Dutch side of the Caribbean island of Sint Maarten. A jet was taking off next to our beach and blew everything all over the place. This was on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at approximately 2:00PM. We stopped off at this island from our cruise on the Carnival Valor. The beach is right next to the famous Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM). The planes take off and land incredibly close to the beach. What a great time! This was taken with a Sony HDR-SR12 Video cam. You should really try to visit this beach! Yes, I'm sure it's not the most relaxing beach out ... -

Minutes from my villa and townhouse in Dawn Beach, Philipsburg is a shopping haven with stores featuring designer clothing Jewelry, electronics, watches and local clothing and gifts. It is duty-free so consequently bargains are everywhere to be had! Shopping in Philipsburg, indeed just walking around Philipsburg makes you realise just how friendly people are in St Maarten. We had a great reaction making the video from both locals and tourists in Philipsburg. I beleive some 2 million tourist come to St Maarten every year by cruise ship and you can see why. Unfortunately things didn't go my way, I broke my phone lol NEVER GET THE DOG AND BONE WET SUIT CASE -_- Then my SD card snapped in my computer yeah it was great!!

Sorry, I had one too many rum and Cokes by this point in the day. So yes, I do realize that I am annoying. My family has reminded me many times since then, but it was fun nonetheless.
This was taken at Maho Beach on the Dutch side of the Caribbean island of Sint Maarten. A jet was taking off next to our beach and blew everything all over the place.
This was on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, at approximately 2:00PM. We stopped off at this island from our cruise on the Carnival Valor. The beach is right next to the famous Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM). The planes take off and land incredibly close to the beach. What a great time!
This was taken with a Sony HDR-SR12 Video cam.
You should really try to visit this beach! Yes, I'm sure it's not the most relaxing beach out there, but there are plenty of those types in the world. This is the only place that I know of that you are able to experience the thrust from a jet plane taking off. It literally is, A BLAST! So please don't knock it until you try it.

Minutes from my villa and townhouse in Dawn Beach, Philipsburg is a shopping haven with stores featuring designer clothing Jewelry, electronics, watches and local clothing and gifts. It is duty-free so consequently bargains are everywhere to be had!
Shopping in Philipsburg, indeed just walking around Philipsburg makes you realise just how friendly people are in St Maarten. We had a great reaction making the video from both locals and tourists in Philipsburg. I beleive some 2 million tourist come to St Maarten every year by cruise ship and you can see why. St Maarten is one of the most popular islands for tourism, with huge numbers of repeat visitors renting villas. We had fun wandering around Front Street in Philipsburg, and through the alleys to the Boardwalk. Apparently Philipsburg the capital of St Maarten was founded in 1763 by John Philips, a Scottish captain in the Dutch navy, and quickly the settlement became a bustling center of international trade, which of course it still is!

With the official end to the US Airways brand this past month, I thought it was a good time to present my last-ever trip on the airline back in May. For airline nerds like myself, this was an interesting time to fly US Airways/American. The merger was going full-steam ahead at the time. When we passed through Charlotte (the biggest US Airways hub), about half of the planes were repainted in the new American Airlines livery. Even the crew kept switching off between the 2 different names. On this trip, I was traveling with my family on vacation right after graduating from college. With the official end to the US Airways brand this past month, I thought it was a good time to present my last-ever trip on the airline back in May. For airline nerds like myself, this was an interesting time to fly US Airways/American. The merger was going full-steam ahead at the time. When we passed through Charlotte (the biggest US Airways hub), about half of the planes were repainted in the new American Airlines livery. Even the crew kept switching off between the 2 different names. On this trip, I was traveling with my family on vacation right after graduating from college. We tried something new, and rented a small condo on the island of St. Maarten. To get there, I originally booked us on an American Airlines itinerary connecting in Miami both ways. However, the flight times changed drastically, and I switched us over to a US Airways itinerary via Charlotte for no additional charge. Even better, this new itinerary meant that we got to fly on 2 of my favorite aircraft: The Embraer E175 (absolutely the best regional jet out there right now), and the Boeing 757 (an awesome large single-aisle plane capable of flying very challenging routes). Plus, Charlotte has always been one of my favorite hubs. The whole experience went flawlessly, so it was a great last experience with US Airways. I'll miss the brand, but I'm optimistic about the future of the new American Airlines.

A MUST FOR AVIATION FANS!
The notorious Princess Juliana Int'l Airport & Maho Beach! I was lucky enough to have a day there during my cruise around the Caribbean and like most people I headed to the islands most famous and possibly one of the worlds most recognised airports just to see for myself how brilliant it was!
INCLUDES: Amerijet Boeing 727! Caribbean Airlines 737, Liat Dash8's & ATR72's, United 737, Delta 757's, American 737, U.S Airways (In American livery) A319, Jet Blue A320, Air France A340, Insel Air MD83, lots of private jets and twin otters and more!
Also a surprise appearance from an Iguana on the runway! :P I spotted it just before the Caribbean Airlines 737 arrival and it was still there after that had landed! Look out for it at 06:36
Some of the landings were insanely low, a few of which I was actually considering ducking because I wasn't even convinced they were going to clear the beach let alone a 6ft person.
And that brings me to the jetblast... The Insel Air departure at 22:00 was quite unlike anything I've ever seen or heard. I've stood just a few meters behind a 757 at Skiathos. But this MD83 was actually scary! Sitting on the brakes for over 10 seconds at take off power certainly caused a stir on the beach. Most people in its wake were simply ducking for cover and were quite literally blown away by its power. You can see them swimming to try and retrieve their belongings after it had gone. It was crazy!
But there's lost of impressive jetblast shots and close ups and waving pilots and more!
