A nice learning experience clocked in at around 20mins of game time. Short lived but also low price on steam.
Mythodea — Music for the NASA Mission: 2001 Mars Odyssey is a choral symphony by Greek electronic composer and artist Vangelis. Originally premiered in concert in 1993, it was published in 2001 by Vangelis' new record label Sony Classical, which also set up the NASA connection and promoted a new concert. The 2001 version of Mythodea was recorded and played on-stage by: Vangelis on synthesizers and keyboards, the London Metropolitan Orchestra augmented by two harpists, sopranos Kathleen Battle and Jessye Norman, the chorus of the Greek National Opera, and, for the concert only, the Seistron and Typana percussion ensembles. The concert was held in Athens, Greece on June 28, 2001, and the record was officially released on October 23, 2001, to coincide with the 2001 Mars Odyssey spacecraft ent...

written & produced for the NASA Mission Odyssey Concert conceived and designed by Vangelis at the Temple of Zeus - Athens - Definitely worth buying this DVD. Vangelis is one of the few most talented electronic musicians and concert artists of all time.
Launch of the Mars Odyssey orbiter on April 7, 2001. This is the highest quality and most complete version of this mission's footage that I know of. The only footage from this mission I know of which is not contained in this video is a short sequence from a forward-facing camera showing the fairing being jettisoned and the probe spinning up and separating. Video by NASA / Kennedy Space Center. 2001 Mars Odyssey is a robotic spacecraft orbiting the planet Mars. The project was developed by NASA, and contracted out to Lockheed Martin, with an expected cost for the entire mission of US$297 million. Its mission is to use spectrometers and a thermal imager to detect evidence of past or present water and ice, as well as study the planet's geology and radiation environment. It is hoped that the data Odyssey obtains will help answer the question of whether life has ever existed on Mars and create a risk-assessment of the radiation future astronauts on Mars might experience. ---Image-Copyright-and-Permission--- About the author(s): NASA/JPL/Corby Waste License: Public domain ---Image-Copyright-and-Permission--- This channel is dedicated to make Wikipedia, one of the biggest knowledge data...
A Martian Odyssey (novella) by Stanley G. Weinbaum Dick Jarvis crash-lands into one of the Thyle regions of Mars. Rather than sit and wait for rescue, Jarvis decides to walk back north to the Ares, but he could never have foreseen the wonders and dangers that lay ahead. "A Martian Odyssey" immediately established Weinbaum as a leading figure in science fiction. Isaac Asimov states that Weinbaum's "easy style and realistic description of extraterrestrial scenes and life-forms were better than anything yet seen, and the science fiction reading public went mad over him." The story "had the effect on the field of an exploding grenade. With this single story, Weinbaum was instantly recognised as the world's best living science fiction writer, and at once almost every writer in the field tried...

A Martian Odyssey (and Its Aliens), SF Audiobook, Science Fiction, by Stanley G. Weinbaum
A Martian Odyssey by Stanley Weinbaum was first published in 1934 a mere 18 months before the author's death at the age of 33. This audio version is narrated by Michael Ross. Of this story Isaac Asimov said "With this single story, Weinbaum was instantly recognized as the world's best living science fiction writer, and at once almost every writer in the field tried to imitate him." In 1970, when the Science Fiction Writers of America voted on the best science fiction short stories before the creation of the Nebula Awards, "A Martian Odyssey" came in second to Asimov's "Nightfall", and was the oldest story to make the list. Jarvis stretched himself as luxuriously as he could in the cramped general quarters of the Ares. "Air you can breathe!" he exulted. "It feels as thick as soup after the thin stuff out there!" He nodded at the Martian landscape stretching flat and desolate in the light of the nearer moon, beyond the glass of the port. The other three stared at him sympathetically—Putz, the engineer, Leroy, the biologist, and Harrison, the astronomer and captain of the expedition. Dick Jarvis was chemist of the famous crew, the Ares expedition, first human beings to set foot on the mysterious neighbor of the earth, the planet Mars. This, of course, was in the old days, less than twenty years after the mad American Doheny perfected the atomic blast at the cost of his life, and only a decade after the equall...

Valley of Dreams, SF Audiobook, by Stanley G. Weinbaum, Science Fiction
You might see me in the paper
Or hear me on the radio
And you'll probably imagine
That I've forgotten you
Long long ago
Well I couldn't if i tried
Though you might think i tell a lie
I'll hold you in my memory
From now
Until the day I die
Bomber jackets and young girls smile
Valentines and county trials
Meeting at the mercy gates
All afternoon I couldn't wait
My thoughts
Were just of kissing you
Now I might be mistaken
But I think we met somewhere before
Was I drunk and stoned and dancing
On some salt hill disco's slippy floor
With you nose on someone's shoulder
Slow dancing tightly intertwined
I wish we swapped our partners
And continued dancing
Till he end of time
Bomber jackets and young girls smile
Valentines and county trials
Meeting at the mercy gates
All afternoon I couldn't wait
Duffel coats and desert boots
The teacher spoke of Brian Boru
My thoughts were just of kissing you
