Situated less than 100kms from Guwahati, Sarthebari is home to the bell metal industry, the second largest handicraft of Assam. Bell metal is an alloy of copper and tin and utensils made from it are used for domestic and religious purposes.
Bell metal as a craft has survived for ages, yet there seems to be very little transition in the method of preparing bell metal items so far as Sarthebari is concerned. The craftsmen who are also referred to as the Kahar or Orja still resort to the age old tools required for burning and shaping the metal. The principal items of brass are the kalah (water pot), sarai (a platter or tray mounted on a base), kahi (dish), bati (bowl), lota (water pot with a long neck) and tal (cymbals).

Bell metal
Bell metal is a hard alloy used for making bells and related instruments, such as cymbals. It is a form of bronze, usually in approximately a 4:1 ratio of copper to tin (e.g., 78% copper, 22% tin by mass). Bell metal ore is a sulfide of tin, copper, and iron called stannite.
Usage
Utensils
In India, in the state of Assam, it is called kanh while in West Bengal and Odisha, kansa, and is used for cooking and eating utensils. Sarthebari in Barpeta district of Assam holds a unique place in the production of kanh utensils. In Assam, utensils of kanh have many religious uses and the most unique utensils, bata and banbati, are used to give offerings and puja or to show respect to honored guests and dignitaries. Belaguntha in Ganjam district, Kantilo in Nayagarh, and Balakati near Bhubaneswar are well-known for this craft in Odisha.

Bell
A bell is a simple idiophone percussion instrument. Although bells come in many forms, most are made of metal cast in the shape of a hollow cup, whose sides form a resonator which vibrates in a single tone upon being struck. The strike may be made by a "clapper" or "uvula" suspended within the bell, by a separate mallet or hammer, or—in small bells—by a small loose sphere enclosed within the body of the bell.
Bells are usually made by casting metal, but small bells can also be made from ceramic or glass. Bells range in size from tiny dress accessories to church bells 5 metres tall, weighing many tons. Historically, bells were associated with religious rituals, and before mass communication were widely used to call communities together for both religious and secular events. Later, bells were made to commemorate important events or people and have been associated with the concepts of peace and freedom. The study of bells is called campanology.
A set of bells, hung in a circle for change ringing, is known as a ring or peal of bells.

Bell metal as a craft has survived for ages, yet there seems to be very little transition in the method of preparing bell metal items so far as Sarthebari is concerned. The craftsmen who are also referred to as the Kahar or Orja still resort to the age old tools required for burning and shaping the metal. The principal items of brass are the kalah (water pot), sarai (a platter or tray mounted on a base), kahi (dish), bati (bowl), lota (water pot with a long neck) and tal (cymbals).

Bell metal as a craft has survived for ages, yet there seems to be very little transition in the method of preparing bell metal items so far as Sarthebari is concerned. The craftsmen who are also referred to as the Kahar or Orja still resort to the age old tools required for burning and shaping the metal. The principal items of brass are the kalah (water pot), sarai (a platter or tray mounted on a base), kahi (dish), bati (bowl), lota (water pot with a long neck) and tal (cymbals).

The bell I make in this video is 12 inches tall by 10 inches in diameter. It probably weighs 20 lb.s with the chain and clapper assembly. Metal crystal bowls have a very unique sound, and are great for relaxing and meditating to. I hope you enjoy the track! :)
Note: This track does not contain any brainwave entrainment tones.
Other phrases used to describe these types of bowl instruments include Tibetan bowls and singing bowls.

When we sleep the soul leaves the body and is free to go anywhere in the universe. The projection may or may not be 100% lucid. Everything will depend on the vibration level which you find yourself. In astral travel you can see all things: angels, demons, aliens, other living humans or not, people who have died, oracles, spiritual mentors, animals projected and so on... In short: You will be able to see everything that happens around you as human life and also as spiritual life... But everything will go according to your vibration state. For example: If you are in a positive state, then you probably find positive beings, angelic beings, mentors, light beings and so on... You can also penetrate in higher worlds too ... But if you have a negative vibration, you probably find demons and obsessors in your astral projections... You will visit hells and so on... So it is very important you energize yourself before projecting astrally. Some people are born with this gift, but others have difficulties to perform astral projection ... Over the years several techniques have been developed to help people who do not have this gift. The techniques include: Activation of the chacras, meditation, mantras, food and so on...

The bell I make in this video is 12 inches tall by 10 inches in diameter. It probably weighs 20 lb.s with the chain and clapper assembly. I didn't ring it very much in the video because I didn't want to annoy my subscribers :) but it really rings well!
