Mulan is a 1998 American animated musical action-comedy-drama film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation based on the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan. The 36th animated feature in the Walt Disney Animated Classics, it was directed by Tony Bancroft and Barry Cook, with story by Robert D. San Souci and screenplay by Rita Hsiao, Philip LaZebnik, Chris Sanders, Eugenia Bostwick-Singer, and Raymond Singer. Ming-Na, Eddie Murphy, Miguel Ferrer and BD Wong star in the English version, while Jackie Chan provided his voice for the Chinese dubs of the film. The film's plot takes place during the Han Dynasty, where Fa Mulan, daughter of aged warrior Fa Zhou, impersonates a man to take her father's place during a general conscription to counter a Hun invasion.
Released during the Disney Renaissance, Mulan was the first of three features produced primarily at the Disney animation studio at Disney-MGM Studios in Orlando, Florida. Development for the film began in 1994, when a number of artistic supervisors were sent to China to receive artistic and cultural inspiration. Mulan was well received by critics and the public, grossing $304 million, earning Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations, and winning several Annie Awards including Best Animated Feature. A 2005 direct-to-video sequel, Mulan II, followed.

Fünf Männer und fünf Frauen durchleben in neunzig Minuten in einem Hotelzimmer die Höhen und Tiefen des Lebens mit allem, was Karriere und Zweierbeziehungen so am Laufen hält. Das Spiel beginnt mit Schriftsteller Herb, der gerade seinen Ratgeber „Ehe währt für immer“ der Presse vorstellt, und seiner cholerischen Frau Rebecca, die sich nach ihrer Jugendliebe verzehrt. Die tritt wenig später in Gestalt eines versoffenen Politikers auf. Der wiederum, im falschen Zimmer gelandet, wollte gerade ein blondes Luder vernaschen. Dumm, dass der Wandschrank schon besetzt ist: da versteckt sich nämlich die Klatschreporterin, bedrängt von einem Kameraassistenten, der mal mit Ingmar Bergmann zusammengearbeitet hat. Dazwischen mischen noch andere mit, wie der neurotische Page und ein diebisches Zimmermädchen.
Der turbulente Komödienspaß rast in atemberaubendem Tempo und fliegendem Rollenwechsel von einem zum nächsten absurden Höhepunkt. Das Besondere: alle Männer werden von einem Darsteller, alle Frauen von einer Darstellerin gespielt.

Als Zeichen chinesischer Weltoffenheit soll anlässlich des Jubiläums die Haiman-Sammlung, eine Kollektion prachtvoller Kunstschätze von unermesslichem Wert, erstmals der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert werden. Kuratorin der mit Spannung erwarteten Ausstellung ist die Berliner Kunstexpertin Victoria Philips, deren Mann Peter an der Organisation partizipiert.
In der Nacht nach ihrer Ankunft werden jedoch alle Exponate gestohlen. Victoria muss hochwertigen Ersatz finden, doch die chinesischen Sammler sind einer Europäerin gegenüber abweisend. Unerwartete Hilfe erhält Victoria von dem prominenten Nachtklubbesitzer Edward Lim, der ihr die Tür zum chinesischen Kunstmarkt öffnet und sie leidenschaftlich umwirbt. Dass ihr Mann sich unterdessen auf Prostituierte einlässt, erleichtert ihr die Entscheidung, eine Nacht mit Edward zu verbringen. Als Kommissar Braddock den Verdacht äußert, dass der Geschäftsmann in den Raub der Haiman-Sammlung verwickelt ist, gerät Victoria in ein emotionales Dilemma.
Charakterdarstellerin Veronica Ferres glänzt in der Hauptrolle dieses Krimis über die schillernde Kunstszene Hongkongs. Zur internationalen Starbesetzung des Event-Films, den die populäre Schauspielerin mitproduzierte, zählen Herbert Knaup als Banker, Matthew Marsh als eigenwilliger Ermittler und der aus namhaften Kinoproduktionen wie "Romeo Must Die" bekannte Russell Wong. Philip LaZebnik
Philip LaZebnik (born in 1953 in Ann Arbor, Michigan) is an American screenwriter and producer. LaZebnik has written screenplays for films including Pocahontas, Mulan, The Prince of Egypt, The Road to El Dorado, The Lost Treasure of the Knights Templar, Asterix and the Vikings, The Three Investigators and the Secret of Skeleton Island, The Lost Treasure of the Knights Templar II, The Lost Treasure of the Knights Templar III: The Mystery of the Snake Crown, The Three Investigators and the Secret of Terror Castle, Emma and Santa Claus and Noah's Ark. He wrote the book for the musical "Fairy Tale" about Hans Christian Andersen with songs by Stephen Schwartz, book and lyrics for "Oktoberfest: the Musical" with music by Harold Faltermeyer, and is currently writing the book for DreamWorks' upcoming theatrical musical version of "Prince of Egypt" with songs by Stephen Schwartz.
LaZebnik also wrote episodes for Wings, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, The Torkelsons and Almost Home.

Hua Mulan
Hua Mulan (Chinese: 花木蘭) is a legendary woman warrior from the Southern and Northern Dynasties (420–589) of China who was originally described in a ballad known as the Ballad of Mulan (Chinese: 木蘭辭). In the ballad, Hua Mulan takes her aged father's place in the army. She was known for practicing martial arts such as Kung Fu and for being skilled with the sword. She fought for twelve years and gained high merit, but she refused any reward and retired to her hometown instead.
The historical setting of Hua Mulan is in the Han Dynasty. Over a thousand years later, Xu Wei's play from the Ming places her in the Northern Wei (386–536), whereas the Qing dynasty Sui Tang Romance has her active around the founding of the Tang c. 620. In 621, the founder of the Tang dynasty was victorious over Wang Shichong and Dou Jiande, the latter of which was the father of Xianniang, another female warrior who became Mulan's laotong in the Sui Tang Romance.
The Hua Mulan crater on Venus is named after her.

Walt Disney
Walter Elias "Walt" Disney (/ˈdɪzni/; December 5, 1901 – December 15, 1966) was an American entrepreneur, cartoonist, animator, voice actor, and film producer. He was a prominent figure within the American animation industry and throughout the world, and is regarded as a cultural icon, known for his influence and contributions to entertainment during the 20th century. As a Hollywood business mogul, he and his brother Roy O. Disney co-founded The Walt Disney Company.
As an animator and entrepreneur, Disney was particularly noted as a filmmaker and a popular showman, as well as an innovator in animation and theme park design. He and his staff created numerous famous fictional characters including Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, and Goofy. Disney himself was the original voice for Mickey. During his lifetime, he won 22 Academy Awards and received four honorary Academy Awards from a total of 59 nominations, including a record of four in one year, giving him more Oscar awards and nominations than any other individual in history. Disney also won seven Emmy Awards and gave his name to the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resort theme parks in the U.S., as well as the international resorts Tokyo Disney Resort, Disneyland Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Shanghai Disney Resort.

Tony Bancroft
Anthony Bancroft is an American animator and film director who frequently collaborates with Disney. He is founder and owner of Christian animation company Toonacious Family Entertainment. Tony currently serves as the Executive VP Creative Development and Production for DivideNine Animation Studios.
Life and career
A native Californian, Bancroft grew up in Orange County. After a two-year stint at Cypress College, he enrolled in the character animation program at CalArts. This led to a summer job as a production assistant with filmmaker Ralph Bakshi and ultimately to an internship in California with Disney Feature Animation followed by a full-time position at the new Florida animation facility. Bancroft (along with this twin brother) was selected to be among the first group of animators to work at the Disney-MGM Studios. During his one-year stay in Florida, he had his first official assignment as an assistant clean-up animator on Roger Rabbit (Roller Coaster Rabbit). This was followed by a credit as animating assistant on The Rescuers Down Under working on the character of "Frank the frill-necked lizard".

Robert D. San Souci
Robert Daniel San Souci (October 10, 1946 – December 19, 2014) was a multiple award winning children's book author, who resided in San Francisco, California. He often worked with his brother, Daniel San Souci, a children's book illustrator. He was a consultant to Disney Studios and was instrumental in the production of the film Mulan, for which he wrote the story. He studied folklore in graduate school. He died after suffering a head injury due to a fall in San Francisco in December of 2014.

Unerwartete Hilfe erhält Victoria von dem prominenten Nachtklubbesitzer Edward Lim, der ihr die Tür zum chinesischen Kunstmarkt öffnet und sie leidenschaftlich umwirbt. Fünf Männer und fünf Frauen durchleben in neunzig Minuten in einem Hotelzimmer die Höhen und Tiefen des Lebens mit allem, was Karriere und Zweierbeziehungen so am Laufen hält. Das Spiel beginnt mit Schriftsteller Herb, der gerade seinen Ratgeber „Ehe währt für immer“ der Presse vorstellt, und seiner cholerischen Frau Rebecca, die sich nach ihrer Jugendliebe verzehrt. Die tritt wenig später in Gestalt eines versoffenen Politikers auf. Der wiederum, im falschen Zimmer gelandet, wollte gerade ein blondes Luder vernaschen. Dumm, dass der Wandschrank schon besetzt ist: da versteckt sich nämlich die Klatschreporterin, bedrängt von einem Kameraassistenten, der mal mit Ingmar Bergmann zusammengearbeitet hat. Dazwischen mischen noch andere mit, wie der neurotische Page und ein diebisches Zimmermädchen.
Der turbulente Komödienspaß rast in atemberaubendem Tempo und fliegendem Rollenwechsel von einem zum nächsten absurden Höhepunkt. Das Besondere: alle Männer werden von einem Darsteller, alle Frauen von einer Darstellerin gespielt.

Kuratorin der mit Spannung erwarteten Ausstellung ist die Berliner Kunstexpertin Victoria Philips, deren Mann Peter an der Organisation partizipiert.
In der Nacht nach ihrer Ankunft werden jedoch alle Exponate gestohlen. Victoria muss hochwertigen Ersatz finden, doch die chinesischen Sammler sind einer Europäerin gegenüber abweisend. Unerwartete Hilfe erhält Victoria von dem prominenten Nachtklubbesitzer Edward Lim, der ihr die Tür zum chinesischen Kunstmarkt öffnet und sie leidenschaftlich umwirbt. Dass ihr Mann sich unterdessen auf Prostituierte einlässt, erleichtert ihr die Entscheidung, eine Nacht mit Edward zu verbringen. Bill Taub is a native New Yorker who's gone from Forest Hills to Beverly Hills. He has been obsessed with television since he was five, and considers himself a student as well as a participant in the medium. He came to television writing through advertising, as a writer-producer, Clio winner, and creative trouble shooter at several New York agencies.
His decades of experience in the industry have included both drama and comedies, including such hits as Barney Miller, Hill Street Blues, Newhart, and Cagney and Lacey. Pilots he has written that have gone to series have included Friday the 13th: The Series, The Odyssey, and Relic Hunter.
The more he studies the work of those he admires most, the one thing that becomes apparent is they either didn't know all the rules, or they ignored them. It's their originality, their uniqueness, that have made their work such a tremendous success. Whether it's the work of David Shore, David Kelley, David Milch, or Larry David (the confederacy of "Davids" as he calls them), they didn't know what they weren't supposed to do -- or didn't know what they didn't know.
Recently, Bill distilled the system he created and developed for his UCLA Extension Writers' Program Workshop into the book "Automatic Pilot.”
Bill splits his time between Los Angeles and Toronto, where his wife's family resides. He keeps himself busy with half a dozen other projects, pilots, web series, consulting, as well as occasionally teaching online thru the UCLA Extension Writers' Program and the Laugh Factory.

Fünf Männer und fünf Frauen durchleben in neunzig Minuten in einem Hotelzimmer die Höhen und Tiefen des Lebens mit allem, was Karriere und Zweierbeziehungen so am Laufen hält. Das Spiel beginnt mit Schriftsteller Herb, der gerade seinen Ratgeber „Ehe währt für immer“ der Presse vorstellt, und seiner cholerischen Frau Rebecca, die sich nach ihrer Jugendliebe verzehrt. Die tritt wenig später in Gestalt eines versoffenen Politikers auf. Der wiederum, im falschen Zimmer gelandet, wollte gerade ein blondes Luder vernaschen. Dumm, dass der Wandschrank schon besetzt ist: da versteckt sich nämlich die Klatschreporterin, bedrängt von einem Kameraassistenten, der mal mit Ingmar Bergmann zusammengearbeitet hat. Dazwischen mischen noch andere mit, wie der neurotische Page und ein diebisches Zimmermädchen.
Der turbulente Komödienspaß rast in atemberaubendem Tempo und fliegendem Rollenwechsel von einem zum nächsten absurden Höhepunkt. Das Besondere: alle Männer werden von einem Darsteller, alle Frauen von einer Darstellerin gespielt.

Als Zeichen chinesischer Weltoffenheit soll anlässlich des Jubiläums die Haiman-Sammlung, eine Kollektion prachtvoller Kunstschätze von unermesslichem Wert, erstmals der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert werden. Kuratorin der mit Spannung erwarteten Ausstellung ist die Berliner Kunstexpertin Victoria Philips, deren Mann Peter an der Organisation partizipiert.
In der Nacht nach ihrer Ankunft werden jedoch alle Exponate gestohlen. Victoria muss hochwertigen Ersatz finden, doch die chinesischen Sammler sind einer Europäerin gegenüber abweisend. Unerwartete Hilfe erhält Victoria von dem prominenten Nachtklubbesitzer Edward Lim, der ihr die Tür zum chinesischen Kunstmarkt öffnet und sie leidenschaftlich umwirbt. Dass ihr Mann sich unterdessen auf Prostituierte einlässt, erleichtert ihr die Entscheidung, eine Nacht mit Edward zu verbringen. Als Kommissar Braddock den Verdacht äußert, dass der Geschäftsmann in den Raub der Haiman-Sammlung verwickelt ist, gerät Victoria in ein emotionales Dilemma.
