A comparison video comparing all changes added into Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back in the 1997 Special Edition and subsequent releases. This video is purely objective and I've refrained from making any opinion on anything, its here to show off as many changes as I could find presented in an organized, relatively chronological order of the film. Looking at it, its safe to say Empire has the fewest actual changes to its film out of the original trilogy. There's really only 3 scenes that were actually altered or added in. Most of these are probably minor things you never noticed, like altered dialogue or added/enhanced shots. Anyway, I myself was born in 1995 and watched the Special Editions first growing up, so I'm no purist or anything. I implore anyone watching to comment and share their opinion. If you're not a fan, that's cool. This scene also features my favorite Yoda fight scene. With this little droid he supposedly just met. The first dark climax of the movie (the 2nd being obvious). Han Solo is taken prisoner and frozen in Carbonite after Lando betrays him to the Empire. Darth Vader coldly tests Captain Solo like a subject dummy, then traps Luke. Darth Vader just kicks everyone's ass. The line "I know" almost certainly never would've made it in had Lucas directed it. It's also worth noting that the production had been pondering the idea of killing off Han Solo for some time. This certainly would've been more dramatic, especially considering Luke and Han's last scene together. Either way, what could've been doesn't change how awesome this scene is. Star Wars 2011 Blu-ray
