IIHS 50th anniversary demonstration test • September 9, 2009 In the 50 years since US insurers organized the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, car crashworthiness has improved. Demonstrating this was a crash test conducted between a 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air and a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu. In a real-world collision similar to this test, occupants of the new model would fare much better than in the vintage Chevy. "It was night and day, the difference in occupant protection," says Institute president Adrian Lund. "What this test shows is that automakers don't build cars like they used to. They build them better." The crash test was conducted at an event to celebrate the contributions of auto insurers to highway safety progress over 50 years. "Chevrolet Trax merupakan mobil pintar yang menawarkan kegunaan dari sebuah SUV lengkap dengan kelincahan dari sebuah mobil kompak," ujar Gaurav Gupta, Presiden Direktur PT. General Motors Indonesia. Chevrolet Trax juga diluncurkan dengan segelintir keamanan yang membuatnya diklaim sebagai yang teraman di kelasnya. Misalnya sistem Body Frame Integral untuk struktur yang tangguh namun tetap stabil, kemudian 6-airbags, ESC (electronic stability control), ABS dan kamera mundur pada model LTZ. Di bawah kap mesin juga menjadi keunggulan sendiri, dengan mesin Ecotec 1.4 L yang diperkuat turbocharger sehingga mampu menghasilkan tenaga 138 dk dan torsi maksimum 200 Nm yg muncul dari putaran mesin 1.850 rpm hingga 4.900 rpm. Teknologi jadi sorotan pada Chevrolet Trax karena disediakan head unit Chevrolet MyLink dengan layar sentuh 7 inci yang dapat menampilkan konten dari smartphone.
