Gatlinburg, TN has a lot of things to experience. There are various attractions like museums, rides, nature, shopping and dining. But there are some less popular things that are great to see as well. Some of these things are hidden and some are out in the open but many pass by them without realizing what they are. The area has changed a lot over the years but much of the history remains. At 2500 feet in length, this Wiegand alpine coaster is the shortest of the four alpine coasters in the area but still a very fun ride and well worth trying out. This video was filmed at full speed throughout the ride.
The Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster is located near Pigeon Forge in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
Also called mountain coasters, these gravity-operated rides installed on a hill or mountain utilizes a track made of stainless steel tubes. The sleds are designed to not come off of the track during the ride and riders control their speed by applying or releasing brakes connected to levers on each side of the sled.

While this park is not home to any coasters, the place is technically defined as an amusement park. It is home to several rides, including the famous Alpine Slide. While it was closed when we went, a little footage of it is in this video. Other attractions that the park features are Ski Slopes, water slides, an animal encounter, chair lift, and an indoor ice skating rink that is surrounded by the shopping center. However what truly makes the experience awesome is the ride up to the park. In order to get there, you have to take an aerial tram up to the top, as Ober Gatlinburg is located up in the mountains. It is a very cool experience, and highly recommended! Cost for the park is free, however it costs to ride each ride. The tram up to the top and back is $15 a person. Ober Gatlinburg is located in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, which is nearby the popular tourist destination Pigeon Forge. If you plan on visiting this park, get to the tram station early in the morning and expect to be back around 2 at the earliest, as you only really need to spend half a day here, but could easily spend more.

The state of Tennessee is rooted in the Watauga Association, a 1772 frontier pact generally regarded as the first constitutional government west of the Appalachians. What is now Tennessee was initially part of North Carolina, and later part of the Southwest Territory. Tennessee was admitted to the Union as the 16th state on June 1, 1796. Tennessee was the last state to leave the Union and join the Confederacy at the outbreak of the U.S. Civil War in 1861, and the first state to be readmitted to the Union at the end of the war.

Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster on-ride HD POV @60fps
At 2500 feet in length, this Wiegand alpine coaster is the shortest of the four alpine coasters in the area but still a very fun ride and well worth trying out. This video was filmed at full speed throughout the ride. The Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster is located near Pigeon Forge in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Also called mountain coasters, these gravity-operated rides installed on a hill or mountain utilizes a track made of stainless steel tubes. The sleds are designed to not come off of the track during the ride and riders control their speed by applying or releasing brakes connected to levers on each side of the sled. Ober Gatlinburg Full HD Experience Gatlinburg, Tennessee
While this park is not home to any coasters, the place is technically defined as an amusement park. It is home to several rides, including the famous Alpine Slide. While it was closed when we went, a little footage of it is in this video. Other attractions that the park features are Ski Slopes, water slides, an animal encounter, chair lift, and an indoor ice skating rink that is surrounded by the shopping center. However what truly makes the experience awesome is the ride up to the park. In order to get there, you have to take an aerial tram up to the top, as Ober Gatlinburg is located up in the mountains. Black Bear Runs Amok Among Tourists In Downtown Gatlinburg, Tennessee A wayward bear shocked tourists in downtown Gatlinburg, Tennessee over the weekend. Cell phone video, captured by Tricia Alexander, shows the black bear making its way from the National Park, attempting to get into the Gatlinburg Convention Center, and then running down the Parkway and even using the cross walk to get back home. On a family outing to Gatlinburg, the Powell residents noticed a large group of people taking photos. When they figured out what was going on, they joined in too. Gatlinburg Tennessee Attraction Ripley's Believe It Or Not Odditorium Museum
This place was GREAT. It was an amazing surprise and well worth the money. We could have easily spent 2-3 hours here. So so much to see. In this video we just gave you a taste. A couple of levels of fun and there is stuff here for everyone. We totally recommend this to anyone visiting Gatlinburg TN. Set aside time to really enjoy all it has to offer. There is also a spot where you can make wax hand sculptures. They are a separate cost but pretty cool. Bring a couple dollars in quarters to get your fortune read by Merlin or whatever else requires change. I do believe there is a change machine inside though. Please visit and enjoy.

While this park is not home to any coasters, the place is technically defined as an amusement park. It is home to several rides, including the famous Alpine Slide. While it was closed when we went, a little footage of it is in this video. Other attractions that the park features are Ski Slopes, water slides, an animal encounter, chair lift, and an indoor ice skating rink that is surrounded by the shopping center. However what truly makes the experience awesome is the ride up to the park. In order to get there, you have to take an aerial tram up to the top, as Ober Gatlinburg is located up in the mountains. It is a very cool experience, and highly recommended! Cost for the park is free, however it costs to ride each ride. The tram up to the top and back is $15 a person. Ober Gatlinburg is located in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, which is nearby the popular tourist destination Pigeon Forge. If you plan on visiting this park, get to the tram station early in the morning and expect to be back around 2 at the earliest, as you only really need to spend half a day here, but could easily spend more.

"You could just see people standing there saying "Oh my God! A bear!" Alexander said. "A lot of people didn't see him coming and he just ran right by them and they're like wow! It was unreal!'

An unlikely tourist was mingling with locals on a Tennessee street this weekend, and they did well to give it a wide berth.
A black bear cub took to the streets Saturday in Gaitlinburg, frightening drivers and pedestrians alike as it crossed the road at a crosswalk and marched up the steps of the local convention center.
While the creatures are common in the Tennessee mountains, the massive crowd, seen in a viral video, were none-the-less thrilled by the spectacle.
As the animal marched down Parkway, scores of people began following behind, taking pictures with their cell phones and enjoying the show - most at a safe distance.
However, some people, enamored with the wild animal, walked directly into its path to get a good shot. Thankfully the creature kept it's cool.
'Unfortunately, a lot of people in our society are getting more desensitized to wild animals as we move more and more into this digital age, and we don't actually get out into the woods, so you don't encounter these animals very frequently except for on TV,' Dr Marcy Souza of the University of Tennessee School of Veterinary Medicine told local WATE.
'Although he looks cute and cuddly, they can actually be pretty fierce,' Souza said.
'That bear probably weighed somewhere in the range of 80 pounds would be my guess, and they can do some serious damage if he got cornered as he did in some of those situations.'

A wayward bear shocked tourists in downtown Gatlinburg, Tennessee over the weekend.
Cell phone video, captured by Tricia Alexander, shows the black bear making its way from the National Park, attempting to get into the Gatlinburg Convention Center, and then running down the Parkway and even using the cross walk to get back home.

A couple of levels of fun and there is stuff here for everyone. We totally recommend this to anyone visiting Gatlinburg TN. Set aside time to really enjoy all it has to offer. There is also a spot where you can make wax hand sculptures. They are a separate cost but pretty cool. Bring a couple dollars in quarters to get your fortune read by Merlin or whatever else requires change. I do believe there is a change machine inside though. Please visit and enjoy.

Mom could have gotten a suite for $40 more when she booked but the regular room looked ok online. When she checked in they wanted to charge 80 more to upgrade to a suite. The room was tiny, gross, smelly and broken.
