General Assembly (horse)

General Assembly (1976–2005) was an American Thoroughbred racehorse. He was bred and raced by the prominent husband-and-wife team of Bertram and Diana Firestone, of Upperville, Virginia. General Assembly was out of the mare Exclusive Dancer, daughter of Hall of Fame inductee and American Horse of the Year Native Dancer. His sire was the 1973 U.S. Triple Crown champion Secretariat, who was rated #2 in the Blood-Horse magazine List of the Top 100 U.S. Racehorses of the 20th Century.

General Assembly was trained by future U.S. Racing Hall of Fame inductee LeRoy Jolley. At age two, the colt won the Hopeful Stakes and the Saratoga Special Stakes; he ran second to Spectacular Bid in both the Champagne Stakes and the Laurel Futurity.

Racing at age three in 1979, in the U.S. Triple Crown series General Assembly ran second in the Kentucky Derby and fifth in the Preakness Stakes to winner Spectacular Bid. In the Belmont Stakes, he finished seventh behind upset winner Coastal. General Assembly won the Vosburgh Stakes and ran second again to Spectacular Bid in the Marlboro Cup Invitational Handicap. He then earned the most important victory of his career with a 15-length win in the Travers Stakes, in which he set a Saratoga track record for the mile and a quarter which still stands (as of 2014).

Delaware General Assembly

The Delaware General Assembly is the legislature of the U.S. state of Delaware. It is a bicameral legislature composed of the Delaware Senate with 21 Senators and the Delaware House of Representatives with 41 Representatives. It meets at Legislative Hall in Dover, Delaware, convening on the second Tuesday of January of odd-numbered years, with a second session of the same Assembly convening likewise in even-numbered years. Normally the sessions are required to adjourn by the last day of June of the same calendar year. However the Governor can call a special session of the legislature at any time.

Members are elected from single-member districts, all apportioned to roughly equal populations after each decennial Census. Elections are held on the Tuesday after the first Monday in November and about one-half of the Senate is elected every two years for a four-year term, and the entire House of Representatives is elected every two years for a two-year term. Vacancies are filled through special elections. There are no term limits for either chamber.

Iowa General Assembly

The Iowa General Assembly (IGA) is the legislative branch of the state government of Iowa. Like the federal United States Congress, the General Assembly is a bicameral body, composed of the upper house Iowa Senate and the lower Iowa House of Representatives respectively. The Senate consists of four year terms and the House consists of two year terms. The General Assembly convenes within the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines.

Composition

The IGA consists of 50 senators and 100 representatives. Each senator represents about 60,927 people and each representative about 30,464 people as of the 2010 United States Census. The last redistricting was enacted on April 19, 2011 for the 2012 elections 85th General Assembly. The IGA convenes annually on the second Monday in January.

As of January 2013, the Senate is controlled by Democrats, and the House of Representatives and the Governor's office are both controlled by Republicans. Prior to the 2006 elections, Iowa had one of the most evenly divided state legislatures in the country, with a 25-25 split in the Senate and the House composed of 51 Republicans and 49 Democrats.

In the City (Kevin Rudolf album)

In the City is the debut album by American singer-songwriter and producer Kevin Rudolf. It was released nationwide, physically and digitally, on November 24, 2008 via Cash Money Records and Universal Republic. Every song on the album was produced and written by Rudolf. "She Can Get It" was a production collaboration between Rudolf and Chad Hugo of The Neptunes. "Let It Rock" was the first single released from the album. The song "NYC" was featured on an episode of CSI: NY and "Let It Rock" was featured on the Melrose Place pilot and The Hills as well as being featured as the theme song for the 2009 WWE Royal Rumble. The album has sold 102,000 copies in the US.

The album's first single, "Let It Rock" reached #2 on the Canadian Hot 100, #5 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, #3 on the Australian ARIA charts,and #4 on the Irish Singles Chart.

"Welcome to the World", which single version featuring Kid Cudi is the second single from this album, released in February 2009 has reached #58 on the US Hot 100 and has debuted at number 96 in Australia's Aria Singles Chart and has peaked at number 42.

Tennessee (Bob Sinclar song)

"Tennessee" is the fourth promotional single from Bob Sinclar's album Western Dream, featuring Farrell Lennon. The record was released on January 2007 via Yellow Productions label.

Release

The full CD release of the single was cancelled in March 2007 in favour of the new song, "Sound of Freedom". It was confirmed on the Bob Sinclar official website.
