http://www.expedia.com/Portland.d178299.Destination-Travel-Guides
Welcome to Portland, Oregon, where you can experience the laid-back atmosphere of the Pacific Northwest amid beautiful natural surroundings.
A Portland tour is easily accomplished on foot; this city was designed for pedestrians, so you’ll be able to get around quickly. As you stroll along, you’ll find plenty of parks, fountains, and buildings old and new to explore. Be warned, this city is known for its sudden showers, so make sure you bring an umbrella to shield yourself until the sun makes a triumphant return.
If you like a good brew, you’re going to love Portland’s alter-ego, Beervana – so named thanks to all the breweries located here. Wine snobs, don’t despair; you’ll find plenty to drink (responsibly) in the Willamette Valley while you continue your Portland sightseeing.
If you’re here with the kids – or you just really love animals – don’t forget to stop by the Oregon Zoo, home to eagles, bobcats, and a ton of other feathered, furry, and scaled critters. Travelers with children will also love the Portland Children’s Museum, where the little ones can learn from and play with interactive exhibits.
Whether you’re here for the beautiful views or to responsibly sample the vintages in the valley, Portland has something for everyone. What are you going to do when you get there?

In Part 3 of the MUNCHIES Guide to Oregon, host Gabi travels to the Willamette Valley—the heart of Oregon wine country—to talk with three vintners who are producing some of the best Pinot noir in the world.
First, Gabi heads to Domaine Serene to sample their 2010 Evenstad Reserve Pinot Noir, which was recently rated the third-best wine in the world by Wine Spectator magazine. She also meets Andrew Beckham from Beckham Estate Vineyard, who shows her how he’s returning to truly Old World methods by making his own clay amphorae to ferment and age his wines. Her last stop is to share a can of Pinot (yes, you read that correctly) with Ryan Harms of Union Wine Company. We’ll cheers to that.

Taking a road trip in Oregon, from Mt. Hood to the Oregon Coast. In this episode of the travel vlog, we explore the Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in McMinnville, then we drive to Astoria to visit Fort Clatsop at the Lewis and Clark National Historical Park and the Columbia River Maritime Museum. Lastly, we rode the Astoria Riverfront Trolley.
Oregon is a coastal U.S. state in the Pacific Northwest region known for its diverse landscape of farms, forests, mountains and beaches. Metro Portland is famous for its quirky, avant-garde culture and is home to iconic coffee shops, boutiques, farm-to-table restaurants and microbreweries. It lies in the Willamette Valley, a renowned red-wine-producing area. Snow-capped Mt. Hood, to the east, offers hiking and skiing.
This is a travel vlog that explores the West from a kid's perspective. We visit amusement parks, museums, festivals, and other family friendly attractions.

Driving Downtown - Salem Oregon USA - Season 1 Episode 19.
Starting Point: Court St https://goo.gl/maps/UTKspUMXn6K2 .
Salem is the capital of the U.S. state of Oregon, and the county seat of Marion County. It is located in the center of the Willamette Valley alongside the Willamette River, which runs north through the city. The river forms the boundary between Marion and Polk counties, and the city neighborhood of West Salem is in Polk County. Salem was founded in 1842, became the capital of the Oregon Territory in 1851, and was incorporated in 1857.
Salem had a population of 154,637 at the 2010 census, making it the third largest city in the state after Portland and Eugene. Salem is less than an hour driving distance away from Portland. Salem is the principal city of the Salem Metropolitan Statistical Area, a metropolitan area that covers Marion and Polk counties[7] and had a combined population of 390,738 at the 2010 census. A 2013 estimate placed the metropolitan population at 400,408, the state's second largest.[8]
The city is home to Willamette University, Corban University, and Chemeketa Community College. The State of Oregon is the largest public employer in the city, and Salem Health is the largest private employer. Transportation includes public transit from Salem-Keizer Transit, Amtrak service, and non-commercial air travel at McNary Field. Major roads include Interstate 5, Oregon Route 99E, and Oregon Route 22, which connects West Salem across the Willamette River via the Marion Street and Center Street bridges.Salem /ˈseɪləm/ is the capital of the U.S. state of Oregon, and the county seat of Marion County.
