Today we are going to check out one of most historic areas of Paris - the Marais.
This will be the first of a two-part series on this fantastic Paris neighborhood, so be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/user/NewYorkHabitat?feature=mhee#g/c/5704CB831C46A022).
The Marais, the French word for 'marsh', is located north of the Seine, sandwiched between Place de la Bastille, Place de la Republique and Les Halles.
Just to the north of rue de Rivoli and east of rue Saint Paul is one of the nicest of the Marais Renaissance mansions, the Hotel de Sully (62 Rue Saint-Antoine). Built in the 1620s, it was acquired in 1634 by Louis XIII's Superintendent of Finance, the duc de Sully, giving the mansion its current name. Crossing this peaceful paradise of gardens, you can reach Place des Vosges through a secret doorway.
Place des Vosges is most certainly one of the most beautiful places in Paris. The King and Queen's pavilions are located opposite each other on the north and south ends. Place des Vosges has had its share of famous residents, including Victor Hugo, whose home is now a museum in his honor; found at number 6. =
Not everyone can afford to stay in Place des Vosges, but if you're looking to save money, consider renting a furnished vacation rental in Paris. You'll get more space for your money and cooking at home will save you even more.

You can continue to track medieval Paris just off of rue Charlemagne where you can see the largest stretch of the old city wall. The wall was built in the 1180s by King Philippe-August to protect against Viking invasions. Today it's a backdrop for basketball games and soccer matches.
The museum of Arts et Métiers was founded in 1794. Inside you will find a fantastic collection of scientific instruments and inventions from the 19th and 20th centuries.
Across the street from the old wall, take one of the open passages and you'll find yourself in another world -- the magical Village Saint Paul. A series of courtyards between the rue Saint Paul and the rue des Jardins Saint Paul, here you can peruse dusty antique shops, design boutiques, some art galleries or stop for a glass of wine one of the cool cafes.
If you're looking for a bit of culture and history, stop in at the Musee Carnavalet (23, rue de Sévigné), home to the museum of the history of Paris. Wandering its maze of rooms, you will travel through the ages of Paris from Roman times to the lively Belle Epoque era around the turn of the 20th century.

Today we are going to finish up our tour of a great Paris neighborhood -- the Marais. This is the second of our two-part series on the fantastic neighborhood of the Marais in Paris. The Marais used to be an important center of Jewish Paris and is still today to a certain degree. You can see the unique Agoudas Hakehilos synagogue designed by Hector Guimard at 10 rue Pavee, which used to be the one of the main Jewish streets in Paris. You can pick up some tasty pastries at the various Jewish bakeries or grab a falafel at the famous l'As du Falafel (34 rue des Rosiers)!
Further down the street is Chez Marianne, a better option for a sit down meal. Patrons can make their own tasting menu of Eastern Mediterranean delicacies such as hummus, grilled eggplant and vine-leaf dolmas.
The fact that the Marais has become a trendy area with cool boutiques does have something to do with the rise in its gay population. At night, you'll have trouble finding space at two of its most popular bars -- the Open Café at 17 rue des Archives and the Raidd Bar at 23 rue de Temple.
If you'd like to experience the Marais like a true local, you should definitely rent a vacation rental or furnished apartment. There's no better way to experience this city than to live in a real Parisian apartment.

The Marais is also bustling in the evenings. The lower half of rue Vielle de Temple has several lively cafes and bars including:
Le Pick-Clops (16 rue Vielle de Temple) -- a great place for apero with their free popcorn, they also have some nice light meal options.
The Lizard Lounge (18 rue du Bourg Tibourg) -- head down into the basement to hang with a fun international crowd. Happy hour until 10 pm and fun dance tunes until late

The Marais is one of Paris' oldest and most visually stunning quarters. First developed in the 12th century, the neighborhood, whose name means "swamp" in French and once was one, went from being a royal favorite under Henri IV and Louis XIII, to falling into ruin after the French Revolution of 1789. Since its revival in the 1960s, it has shone as a center of Parisian artistic and cultural life.

Bonjour c'est David Hill de New York Habitat. Bienvenue pour la première partie de la de l'un des quartiers les plus branchés de Paris: Le Marais avec ses bâtisses raffinées du XVIème siècle, les plats juifs traditionnels, les boutiques ultra mode et les jardins paisibles. Il y a de quoi satisfaire tous les gouts.
Le Marais est situé au nord de la Seine, entre la Place de la Bastille, la Place de la République et Les Halles. Les marais présents ont été asséchés au milieu du 16ème siècle et sans tarder, les aristocrates y ont construits leurs élégantes maisons de villes ou hôtels particuliers. La zone fut cependant abandonnée au 18ème siècle, lorsque les nobles se sont déplacés vers la partie ouest de la ville.
Vous pouvez dénicher les plus anciennes maisons de Paris, qui datent du 14ème siècle, derrière la très animée rue de Rivoli au 44 rue François Miron. La façade des immeubles avaient été plâtrées en 1607 conformément à l'interdiction des maisons en bois dans la ville et n'ont été redécouvertes qu'au milieu du 20ème siècle.
Juste au nord de la rue de Rivoli et à l'est de la rue Saint Paul se trouve l'un des plus beaux hôtels particuliers Renaissance du Marais, l'Hôtel de Sully. En traversant les jardins de ce paradis paisible, vous pouvez atteindre directement la Place des Vosges grâce à une porte secrète.
La place des Vosges est sans conteste l'une des plus belle places de Paris. Faite à la demande d'Henri IV pour donner une vraie place publique à un Paris encombré et terminée en 1612, elle est devenue un modèle pour les places à travers toute l'Europe.
La place des Vosges à eu sa part de résidents célèbres avec Victor Hugo dont l'ancienne maison, au numéro 6, est actuellement un musée en son honneur.
Tout le monde ne peut pas se permettre d'habiter Place des Vosges, mais si vous souhaitez faire des économies, pensez à louer une location de vacances à Paris via New York Habitat. Votre logement sera plus spacieux qu'un hôtel et cuisiner à la maison représentera une économie supplémentaire.
Nous disposons par exemple de ce charmant appartement T2 entièrement meublé (PA-2571) et centralement situé à moins d'une rue de la Place des Vosges. La location meublée se trouve au 2ème étage d'un immeuble sans ascenseur et dispose de moquette ainsi que d'un petit balcon.
Voici un autre appartement T1 meublé à Paris (PA-2281), lui aussi à une courte distance de marche de la place des Vosges. Ce logement se trouve au 3ème étage d'un immeuble sans ascenseur et est doté de poutres apparentes au plafond ainsi que d'un mur en pierre

Les vieux murs de la ville. (Au coin de la rue Charlemagne et de la rue des Jardins Saint Paul). Vous pouvez continuer à pister les traces du Paris médiéval juste à coté de la rue Charlemagne, on y trouve les plus importantes parties des anciens murs de la ville. Ce mur a été bâti dans les années 1180 par le roi Philippe-Auguste pour se protéger des invasions Viking.
De l'autre coté de la rue, à l'opposé de l'ancien mur, empruntez l'un des passages ouverts et vous arriverez tout droit dans un autre monde : le formidable Village Saint Paul. Une série de petites cours d'immeubles entre la rue Saint Paul et la rue des Jardins Saint Paul où vous trouverez des boutiques d'antiquités, de mode ou encore des galeries d'art.
Le musée et conservatoire des Arts et Métiers fondé en 1794 conserve désormais l'ensemble des machines qui ont été inventées au long du XIX et XX siècle.
Pour un peu de culture et d'histoire, faites un arrêt au Musée Carnavalet. C'est une autre magnifique demeure privée qui accueille le Musée de l'Histoire de Paris. Perdez-vous dans ces nombreuses pièces pour voyager à travers les âges, de l'époque romaine de Paris jusqu'à la fameuse Belle Epoque au tournant du 20ème siècle.

Le Marais était autrefois un centre important pour la communauté juive de Paris et l'est encore dans une certaine mesure. Vous pouvez admirer la formidable synagogue Agoudas Hakehilos, imaginée par Hector Guimard au 10 rue Pavée. Vous pourrez acheter des pâtisseries dans l'une des boulangeries juives ou prendre un falafel chez le fameux restaurant « l'As du Falafel » qui sert les meilleurs falafel du monde !
Plus bas dans la rue se trouve Chez Marianne, une meilleure option pour manger assis. Vous pouvez faire ici votre propre menu dégustation de spécialités de l'est méditerranéen comme de l'hummus, de l'aubergine grillée et des dolmas de feuilles de vigne.
Le fait que le Marais soit devenu un coin à la mode avec des boutiques branchées n'est pas étranger à l'augmentation de sa population gay. Vous aurez du mal à trouver de la place le soir dans les deux bars les plus populaires : l'Open Café et le Raidd Bar.
Si vous voulez découvrir le Marais comme un vrai habitant du quartier, vous devez absolument réserver une location de vacances ou un appartement meublé chez New York Habitat. La meilleure manière de vivre la ville est d'habiter dans un vrai appartement à Paris.
Ne manquez pas cet appartement T3 entièrement meublé dans le quartier du Maris (PA-3142) qui sera parfait pour votre séjour à Paris. Allez faire un tour dans les rues autour du Haut Marais (rue de Bretagne/Charlot/Vielle de Temple) pour voir se qui s'y trouve.
Rien d'étonnant à ce que le Marais ne soit devenu le coin le plus tendance de la ville en matière de vintage et de fripes.
Jetez un œil à ces boutiques : King of Frip, Frip'irium, Freep'Star.
Si vous séjournez dans un appartement dans le Marais vous pouvez profiter de délicieuses spécialités françaises. Vous trouverez des vendeurs de fruits et légumes, des caves à vins et de bonnes boulangeries sur la rue Rambuteau, à coté du Centre Pompidou. Dans le Haut Marais, jetez un œil aux échantillons internationaux sur le Marché des Enfants Rouges, le plus ancien marché de Paris.
Laissons nos pas nous guider dans toutes ses rues et arrêtons nous un moment rue du Trésor. Il s'agit d'une jolie impasse piétonne bordée de cafés et de petits magasins.
Le Marais offre une grande diversité de solutions pour dîner allant du falafel à emporter jusqu'au bon bistro.
L'un de mes favoris est le café Café des Philosophes. Un café agréable pour ceux qui souhaitent s'installer pour profiter d'un bon repas.
Le Marais déborde également d'animation le soir, la partie basse de la rue Vielle de Temple propose plusieurs cafés et bars animés comme Le Pick-Clops: endroit idéal pour l'apéro avec leur popcorns gratuits, sinon essayez le Café du Trésor pour une ambiance branchée et moderne. L'un de mes autres favoris pour sortir dans le Marais est The Lizard Lounge. Dirigez-vous vers le sous-sol pour découvrir une foule amusante venue des quatre coins du monde.

Today we visited the Marais neighborhood of Paris, called Le Marais, which is a popular area for local boutique shopping, consignment stores full of vintage, and Parisian cafes. We are the the Royal Turienne Cafe and had escargo and drank rose. We also rode bikes around the city and went to Le Jardin des Plantes, a botanical garden where we saw a variety of different plants and flowers, and a beautiful rose garden. We were able to get around Paris via the public bike system that made it easy for us to rent bicycles and drop off the bike at any location.

It spreads across parts of the 3rd and 4th arrondissements in Paris (on the Rive Droite, or Right Bank, of the Seine).
In 1240 the Order of the Temple built its fortified church just outside Paris's walls, in the northern part of the Marais. The Temple turned the district into an attractive area, and many religious institutions were built nearby: the des Blancs-Manteaux, de Sainte-Croix-de-la-Bretonnerie and des Carmes-Billettes convents, as well as the church of Sainte-Catherine-du-Val-des-Écoliers.
During the mid-13th century, Charles I of Anjou, King of Naples and Sicily, and brother of King Louis IX of France built his residence near the current n°7 rue de Sévigné. In 1361 the King Charles V built a mansion known as the Hôtel Saint-Pol in which the Royal Court settled during his reign as well as his son's.

Today we are going to check out one of most historic areas of Paris - the Marais. The Marais, the French word for 'marsh', is located north of the Seine, sandwiched between Place de la Bastille, Place de la Republique and Les Halles. Just to the north of rue de Rivoli and east of rue Saint Paul is one of the nicest of the Marais Renaissance mansions, the Hotel de Sully (62 Rue Saint-Antoine). Built in the 1620s, it was acquired in 1634 by Louis XIII's Superintendent of Finance, the duc de Sully, giving the mansion its current name. Crossing this peaceful paradise of gardens, you can reach Place des Vosges through a secret doorway. Place des Vosges is most certainly one of the most beautiful places in Paris. The King and Queen's pavilions are located opposite each other on the north and south ends. Place des Vosges has had its share of famous residents, including Victor Hugo, whose home is now a museum in his honor; found at number 6. = Not everyone can afford to stay in Place des Vosges, but if you're looking to save money, consider renting a furnished vacation rental in Paris. You'll get more space for your money and cooking at home will save you even more. A series of courtyards between the rue Saint Paul and the rue des Jardins Saint Paul, here you can peruse dusty antique shops, design boutiques, some art galleries or stop for a glass of wine one of the cool cafes. If you're looking for a bit of culture and history, stop in at the Musee Carnavalet (23, rue de Sévigné), home to the museum of the history of Paris. Wandering its maze of rooms, you will travel through the ages of Paris from Roman times to the lively Belle Epoque era around the turn of the 20th century. Today we are going to finish up our tour of a great Paris neighborhood -- the Marais. This is the second of our two-part series on the fantastic neighborhood of the Marais in Paris. The Marais used to be an important center of Jewish Paris and is still today to a certain degree. You can see the unique Agoudas Hakehilos synagogue designed by Hector Guimard at 10 rue Pavee, which used to be the one of the main Jewish streets in Paris. You can pick up some tasty pastries at the various Jewish bakeries or grab a falafel at the famous l'As du Falafel (34 rue des Rosiers)! Further down the street is Chez Marianne, a better option for a sit down meal. Patrons can make their own tasting menu of Eastern Mediterranean delicacies such as hummus, grilled eggplant and vine-leaf dolmas. The fact that the Marais has become a trendy area with cool boutiques does have something to do with the rise in its gay population. At night, you'll have trouble finding space at two of its most popular bars -- the Open Café at 17 rue des Archives and the Raidd Bar at 23 rue de Temple. If you'd like to experience the Marais like a true local, you should definitely rent a vacation rental or furnished apartment. Bonjour c'est David Hill de New York Habitat. Bienvenue pour la première partie de la de l'un des quartiers les plus branchés de Paris: Le Marais avec ses bâtisses raffinées du XVIème siècle, les plats juifs traditionnels, les boutiques ultra mode et les jardins paisibles. Il y a de quoi satisfaire tous les gouts. Le Marais est situé au nord de la Seine, entre la Place de la Bastille, la Place de la République et Les Halles. Les marais présents ont été asséchés au milieu du 16ème siècle et sans tarder, les aristocrates y ont construits leurs élégantes maisons de villes ou hôtels particuliers. La zone fut cependant abandonnée au 18ème siècle, lorsque les nobles se sont déplacés vers la partie ouest de la ville. Vous pouvez dénicher les plus anciennes maisons de Paris, qui datent du 14ème siècle, derrière la très animée rue de Rivoli au 44 rue François Miron. La façade des immeubles avaient été plâtrées en 1607 conformément à l'interdiction des maisons en bois dans la ville et n'ont été redécouvertes qu'au milieu du 20ème siècle. Juste au nord de la rue de Rivoli et à l'est de la rue Saint Paul se trouve l'un des plus beaux hôtels particuliers Renaissance du Marais, l'Hôtel de Sully. En traversant les jardins de ce paradis paisible, vous pouvez atteindre directement la Place des Vosges grâce à une porte secrète. La place des Vosges est sans conteste l'une des plus belle places de Paris. Faite à la demande d'Henri IV pour donner une vraie place publique à un Paris encombré et terminée en 1612, elle est devenue un modèle pour les places à travers toute l'Europe. La place des Vosges à eu sa part de résidents célèbres avec Victor Hugo dont l'ancienne maison, au numéro 6, est actuellement un musée en son honneur. Tout le monde ne peut pas se permettre d'habiter Place des Vosges, mais si vous souhaitez faire des économies, pensez à louer une location de vacances à Paris via New York Habitat. Votre logement sera plus spacieux qu'un hôtel et cuisiner à la maison représentera une économie supplémentaire. Nous disposons par exemple de ce charmant appartement T2 entièrement meublé (PA-2571) et centralement situé à moins d'une rue de la Place des Vosges. Ce mur a été bâti dans les années 1180 par le roi Philippe-Auguste pour se protéger des invasions Viking. De l'autre coté de la rue, à l'opposé de l'ancien mur, empruntez l'un des passages ouverts et vous arriverez tout droit dans un autre monde : le formidable Village Saint Paul. Une série de petites cours d'immeubles entre la rue Saint Paul et la rue des Jardins Saint Paul où vous trouverez des boutiques d'antiquités, de mode ou encore des galeries d'art. Le musée et conservatoire des Arts et Métiers fondé en 1794 conserve désormais l'ensemble des machines qui ont été inventées au long du XIX et XX siècle. Pour un peu de culture et d'histoire, faites un arrêt au Musée Carnavalet. C'est une autre magnifique demeure privée qui accueille le Musée de l'Histoire de Paris. Perdez-vous dans ces nombreuses pièces pour voyager à travers les âges, de l'époque romaine de Paris jusqu'à la fameuse Belle Epoque au tournant du 20ème siècle. Vous pouvez admirer la formidable synagogue Agoudas Hakehilos, imaginée par Hector Guimard au 10 rue Pavée. Vous pourrez acheter des pâtisseries dans l'une des boulangeries juives ou prendre un falafel chez le fameux restaurant « l'As du Falafel » qui sert les meilleurs falafel du monde ! Plus bas dans la rue se trouve Chez Marianne, une meilleure option pour manger assis. Vous pouvez faire ici votre propre menu dégustation de spécialités de l'est méditerranéen comme de l'hummus, de l'aubergine grillée et des dolmas de feuilles de vigne. Le fait que le Marais soit devenu un coin à la mode avec des boutiques branchées n'est pas étranger à l'augmentation de sa population gay. Vous aurez du mal à trouver de la place le soir dans les deux bars les plus populaires : l'Open Café et le Raidd Bar. Si vous voulez découvrir le Marais comme un vrai habitant du quartier, vous devez absolument réserver une location de vacances ou un appartement meublé chez New York Habitat. La meilleure manière de vivre la ville est d'habiter dans un vrai appartement à Paris. Ne manquez pas cet appartement T3 entièrement meublé dans le quartier du Maris (PA-3142) qui sera parfait pour votre séjour à Paris. Si vous séjournez dans un appartement dans le Marais vous pouvez profiter de délicieuses spécialités françaises. Vous trouverez des vendeurs de fruits et légumes, des caves à vins et de bonnes boulangeries sur la rue Rambuteau, à coté du Centre Pompidou. Dans le Haut Marais, jetez un œil aux échantillons internationaux sur le Marché des Enfants Rouges, le plus ancien marché de Paris. Laissons nos pas nous guider dans toutes ses rues et arrêtons nous un moment rue du Trésor. Il s'agit d'une jolie impasse piétonne bordée de cafés et de petits magasins. Le Marais offre une grande diversité de solutions pour dîner allant du falafel à emporter jusqu'au bon bistro. L'un de mes favoris est le café Café des Philosophes. Un café agréable pour ceux qui souhaitent s'installer pour profiter d'un bon repas. Le Marais déborde également d'animation le soir, la partie basse de la rue Vielle de Temple propose plusieurs cafés et bars animés comme Le Pick-Clops: endroit idéal pour l'apéro avec leur popcorns gratuits, sinon essayez le Café du Trésor pour une ambiance branchée et moderne. L'un de mes autres favoris pour sortir dans le Marais est The Lizard Lounge. Dirigez-vous vers le sous-sol pour découvrir une foule amusante venue des quatre coins du monde. Today we visited the Marais neighborhood of Paris, called Le Marais, which is a popular area for local boutique shopping, consignment stores full of vintage, and Parisian cafes. We are the the Royal Turienne Cafe and had escargo and drank rose. We also rode bikes around the city and went to Le Jardin des Plantes, a botanical garden where we saw a variety of different plants and flowers, and a beautiful rose garden. We were able to get around Paris via the public bike system that made it easy for us to rent bicycles and drop off the bike at any location. -

Today we are going to check out one of most historic areas of Paris - the Marais.

The Marais, the French word for 'marsh', is located north of the Seine, sandwiched between Place de la Bastille, Place de la Republique and Les Halles.
Just to the north of rue de Rivoli and east of rue Saint Paul is one of the nicest of the Marais Renaissance mansions, the Hotel de Sully (62 Rue Saint-Antoine). Built in the 1620s, it was acquired in 1634 by Louis XIII's Superintendent of Finance, the duc de Sully, giving the mansion its current name. Crossing this peaceful paradise of gardens, you can reach Place des Vosges through a secret doorway.
Place des Vosges is most certainly one of the most beautiful places in Paris. The King and Queen's pavilions are located opposite each other on the north and south ends. Place des Vosges has had its share of famous residents, including Victor Hugo, whose home is now a museum in his honor; found at number 6. =
Not everyone can afford to stay in Place des Vosges, but if you're looking to save money, consider renting a furnished vacation rental in Paris. You'll get more space for your money and cooking at home will save you even more.
For example, we have this charming fully furnished 1-bedroom apartment (http://www.nyhabitat.com/paris-apartment/vacation/2571 ) which is centrally located, less than one block from Place des Vosges. The bedroom is furnished with a queen sized bed and there is a double sized sofa bed in the living room for further sleeping accommodations.
Here is another furnished 1-bedroom Paris apartment (http://www.nyhabitat.com/paris-apartment/vacation/2881 ) within walking distance of Place des Vosges. The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen so guests can prepare meals in the apartment and also has the convenience of a washer and dryer in the apartment!
You can continue to track medieval Paris just off of rue Charlemagne where you can see the largest stretch of the old city wall. The wall was built in the 1180s by King Philippe-August to protect against Viking invasions. Today it's a backdrop for basketball games and soccer matches.
The museum of Arts et Métiers was founded in 1794. Inside you will find a fantastic collection of scientific instruments and inventions from the 19th and 20th centuries.
Across the street from the old wall, take one of the open passages and you'll find yourself in another world -- the magical Village Saint Paul. Today we are going to check out one of most historic areas of Paris - the Marais.

The Marais, the French word for 'marsh', is located north of the Seine, sandwiched between Place de la Bastille, Place de la Republique and Les Halles.
Just to the north of rue de Rivoli and east of rue Saint Paul is one of the nicest of the Marais Renaissance mansions, the Hotel de Sully (62 Rue Saint-Antoine). Built in the 1620s, it was acquired in 1634 by Louis XIII's Superintendent of Finance, the duc de Sully, giving the mansion its current name. Crossing this peaceful paradise of gardens, you can reach Place des Vosges through a secret doorway.
Place des Vosges is most certainly one of the most beautiful places in Paris. The King and Queen's pavilions are located opposite each other on the north and south ends. Place des Vosges has had its share of famous residents, including Victor Hugo, whose home is now a museum in his honor; found at number 6. =
Not everyone can afford to stay in Place des Vosges, but if you're looking to save money, consider renting a furnished vacation rental in Paris. You'll get more space for your money and cooking at home will save you even more.

Across the street from the old wall, take one of the open passages and you'll find yourself in another world -- the magical Village Saint Paul. Today we are going to finish up our tour of a great Paris neighborhood -- the Marais. This is the second of our two-part series on the fantastic neighborhood of the Marais in Paris. The Marais used to be an important center of Jewish Paris and is still today to a certain degree. You can see the unique Agoudas Hakehilos synagogue designed by Hector Guimard at 10 rue Pavee, which used to be the one of the main Jewish streets in Paris. You can pick up some tasty pastries at the various Jewish bakeries or grab a falafel at the famous l'As du Falafel (34 rue des Rosiers)!
Further down the street is Chez Marianne, a better option for a sit down meal. Patrons can make their own tasting menu of Eastern Mediterranean delicacies such as hummus, grilled eggplant and vine-leaf dolmas.
The fact that the Marais has become a trendy area with cool boutiques does have something to do with the rise in its gay population. At night, you'll have trouble finding space at two of its most popular bars -- the Open Café at 17 rue des Archives and the Raidd Bar at 23 rue de Temple.
If you'd like to experience the Marais like a true local, you should definitely rent a vacation rental or furnished apartment. There's no better way to experience this city than to live in a real Parisian apartment.

Bonjour c'est David Hill de New York Habitat. Bienvenue pour la première partie de la de l'un des quartiers les plus branchés de Paris: Le Marais avec ses bâtisses raffinées du XVIème siècle, les plats juifs traditionnels, les boutiques ultra mode et les jardins paisibles. Il y a de quoi satisfaire tous les gouts.
Le Marais est situé au nord de la Seine, entre la Place de la Bastille, la Place de la République et Les Halles. Les marais présents ont été asséchés au milieu du 16ème siècle et sans tarder, les aristocrates y ont construits leurs élégantes maisons de villes ou hôtels particuliers. La zone fut cependant abandonnée au 18ème siècle, lorsque les nobles se sont déplacés vers la partie ouest de la ville.
Vous pouvez dénicher les plus anciennes maisons de Paris, qui datent du 14ème siècle, derrière la très animée rue de Rivoli au 44 rue François Miron. La façade des immeubles avaient été plâtrées en 1607 conformément à l'interdiction des maisons en bois dans la ville et n'ont été redécouvertes qu'au milieu du 20ème siècle.
Juste au nord de la rue de Rivoli et à l'est de la rue Saint Paul se trouve l'un des plus beaux hôtels particuliers Renaissance du Marais, l'Hôtel de Sully. En traversant les jardins de ce paradis paisible, vous pouvez atteindre directement la Place des Vosges grâce à une porte secrète.
La place des Vosges est sans conteste l'une des plus belle places de Paris. Faite à la demande d'Henri IV pour donner une vraie place publique à un Paris encombré et terminée en 1612, elle est devenue un modèle pour les places à travers toute l'Europe.
La place des Vosges à eu sa part de résidents célèbres avec Victor Hugo dont l'ancienne maison, au numéro 6, est actuellement un musée en son honneur.
Tout le monde ne peut pas se permettre d'habiter Place des Vosges, mais si vous souhaitez faire des économies, pensez à louer une location de vacances à Paris via New York Habitat. Votre logement sera plus spacieux qu'un hôtel et cuisiner à la maison représentera une économie supplémentaire.

Vous pouvez continuer à pister les traces du Paris médiéval juste à coté de la rue Charlemagne, on y trouve les plus importantes parties des anciens murs de la ville. Ce mur a été bâti dans les années 1180 par le roi Philippe-Auguste pour se protéger des invasions Viking.
De l'autre coté de la rue, à l'opposé de l'ancien mur, empruntez l'un des passages ouverts et vous arriverez tout droit dans un autre monde : le formidable Village Saint Paul. Une série de petites cours d'immeubles entre la rue Saint Paul et la rue des Jardins Saint Paul où vous trouverez des boutiques d'antiquités, de mode ou encore des galeries d'art.
Le musée et conservatoire des Arts et Métiers fondé en 1794 conserve désormais l'ensemble des machines qui ont été inventées au long du XIX et XX siècle.
Pour un peu de culture et d'histoire, faites un arrêt au Musée Carnavalet. C'est une autre magnifique demeure privée qui accueille le Musée de l'Histoire de Paris. Perdez-vous dans ces nombreuses pièces pour voyager à travers les âges, de l'époque romaine de Paris jusqu'à la fameuse Belle Epoque au tournant du 20ème siècle.

Bonjour c'est David Hill de New York Habitat. Bienvenue pour la première partie de la de l'un des quartiers les plus branchés de Paris: Le Marais avec ses bâtisses raffinées du XVIème siècle, les plats juifs traditionnels, les boutiques ultra mode et les jardins paisibles. Il y a de quoi satisfaire tous les gouts.
Le Marais est situé au nord de la Seine, entre la Place de la Bastille, la Place de la République et Les Halles. Les marais présents ont été asséchés au milieu du 16ème siècle et sans tarder, les aristocrates y ont construits leurs élégantes maisons de villes ou hôtels particuliers. La zone fut cependant abandonnée au 18ème siècle, lorsque les nobles se sont déplacés vers la partie ouest de la ville.
Vous pouvez dénicher les plus anciennes maisons de Paris, qui datent du 14ème siècle, derrière la très animée rue de Rivoli au 44 rue François Miron. La façade des immeubles avaient été plâtrées en 1607 conformément à l'interdiction des maisons en bois dans la ville et n'ont été redécouvertes qu'au milieu du 20ème siècle.
Juste au nord de la rue de Rivoli et à l'est de la rue Saint Paul se trouve l'un des plus beaux hôtels particuliers Renaissance du Marais, l'Hôtel de Sully. En traversant les jardins de ce paradis paisible, vous pouvez atteindre directement la Place des Vosges grâce à une porte secrète.
La place des Vosges est sans conteste l'une des plus belle places de Paris. Faite à la demande d'Henri IV pour donner une vraie place publique à un Paris encombré et terminée en 1612, elle est devenue un modèle pour les places à travers toute l'Europe.
La place des Vosges à eu sa part de résidents célèbres avec Victor Hugo dont l'ancienne maison, au numéro 6, est actuellement un musée en son honneur.
Tout le monde ne peut pas se permettre d'habiter Place des Vosges, mais si vous souhaitez faire des économies, pensez à louer une location de vacances à Paris via New York Habitat. Votre logement sera plus spacieux qu'un hôtel et cuisiner à la maison représentera une économie supplémentaire.
Nous disposons par exemple de ce charmant appartement T2 entièrement meublé (PA-2571) et centralement situé à moins d'une rue de la Place des Vosges. La location meublée se trouve au 2ème étage d'un immeuble sans ascenseur et dispose de moquette ainsi que d'un petit balcon.
Voici un autre appartement T1 meublé à Paris (PA-2281), lui aussi à une courte distance de marche de la place des Vosges. Ce logement se trouve au 3ème étage d'un immeuble sans ascenseur et est doté de poutres apparentes au plafond ainsi que d'un mur en pierre

Le Marais était autrefois un centre important pour la communauté juive de Paris et l'est encore dans une certaine mesure. Vous pouvez admirer la formidable synagogue Agoudas Hakehilos, imaginée par Hector Guimard au 10 rue Pavée. Vous pourrez acheter des pâtisseries dans l'une des boulangeries juives ou prendre un falafel chez le fameux restaurant « l'As du Falafel » qui sert les meilleurs falafel du monde !
Plus bas dans la rue se trouve Chez Marianne, une meilleure option pour manger assis. Vous pouvez faire ici votre propre menu dégustation de spécialités de l'est méditerranéen comme de l'hummus, de l'aubergine grillée et des dolmas de feuilles de vigne.
Le fait que le Marais soit devenu un coin à la mode avec des boutiques branchées n'est pas étranger à l'augmentation de sa population gay. Vous aurez du mal à trouver de la place le soir dans les deux bars les plus populaires : l'Open Café et le Raidd Bar.
Si vous voulez découvrir le Marais comme un vrai habitant du quartier, vous devez absolument réserver une location de vacances ou un appartement meublé chez New York Habitat. La meilleure manière de vivre la ville est d'habiter dans un vrai appartement à Paris.
Ne manquez pas cet appartement T3 entièrement meublé dans le quartier du Maris (PA-3142) qui sera parfait pour votre séjour à Paris. Jetez un œil à ces boutiques : King of Frip, Frip'irium, Freep'Star.
Si vous séjournez dans un appartement dans le Marais vous pouvez profiter de délicieuses spécialités françaises. Vous trouverez des vendeurs de fruits et légumes, des caves à vins et de bonnes boulangeries sur la rue Rambuteau, à coté du Centre Pompidou. Dans le Haut Marais, jetez un œil aux échantillons internationaux sur le Marché des Enfants Rouges, le plus ancien marché de Paris.
Laissons nos pas nous guider dans toutes ses rues et arrêtons nous un moment rue du Trésor. Il s'agit d'une jolie impasse piétonne bordée de cafés et de petits magasins.
Le Marais offre une grande diversité de solutions pour dîner allant du falafel à emporter jusqu'au bon bistro.
L'un de mes favoris est le café Café des Philosophes. Un café agréable pour ceux qui souhaitent s'installer pour profiter d'un bon repas.
Le Marais déborde également d'animation le soir, la partie basse de la rue Vielle de Temple propose plusieurs cafés et bars animés comme Le Pick-Clops: endroit idéal pour l'apéro avec leur popcorns gratuits, sinon essayez le Café du Trésor pour une ambiance branchée et moderne. L'un de mes autres favoris pour sortir dans le Marais est The Lizard Lounge. Dirigez-vous vers le sous-sol pour découvrir une foule amusante venue des quatre coins du monde.

Today we visited the Marais neighborhood of Paris, called Le Marais, which is a popular area for local boutique shopping, consignment stores full of vintage, and Parisian cafes. We are the the Royal Turienne Cafe and had escargo and drank rose. We also rode bikes around the city and went to Le Jardin des Plantes, a botanical garden where we saw a variety of different plants and flowers, and a beautiful rose garden. We were able to get around Paris via the public bike system that made it easy for us to rent bicycles and drop off the bike at any location.

Le Chant des déportés ou Chant des marais (en allemand Moorsoldatenlied, « chanson des soldats de marécage », ou Börgermoorlied, « chant de Börgermoor ») est un chant composé en 1933 par des prisonniers du camp de concentration de Börgermoor, dans le Pays de l'Ems, en Basse-Saxe.
Il est entonné lors de chaque cérémonie de la déportation, le dimanche précédant le Nouvel An selon le calendrier hébraïque, en la Synagogue de la Victoire, à Paris.

As a prelude to the vast enterprise represented by the release of Marin Marais’ complete five 'Books of Pièces de Viole', François Joubert-Caillet proposes this anthology of some of the most famous pieces that the illustrious gambist of La Chambre du Roi wrote for the delight of the Sun King’s private concerts. François Joubert- Caillet studied the viola da gamba at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Paolo Pandolfo, with whom he also studied early improvisation, and also with Rudolf Lutz. Winner of the First and Audience Prizes at the Bruges International Chamber Music Competition, he gives concerts, recitals and master classes in Europe, Asia and Latin America. François Joubert-Caillet also directs L’Achéron, an ensemble with which he appears in various formations, in particular the consort of viols. L’Achéron’s CDs, devoted to Anthony Holborne’s 'The Fruit of Love' and Samuel Scheidt’s 'Ludi Musici', were released by Ricercar for which François Joubert-Caillet also recorded a CD in duo with Wieland Kuijken: Johannes Schenck’s 'Le Nymphe di Rheno'.

In this video, I'll be climbing the fort on the far right side of the map (Le Marais, near The Bastille) and earning the Panoramic View achievement which is obtained after synchronizing all viewpoints. When observed from outside, it doesn't seem easy to climb the fort. However, it's actually pretty simple. Just be aware of the fact that this is enemy territory, so there will be enemies attacking you. In order to record this without me looking around too much, I had to do this several times and I can confirm that the enemies are always in the same place, which means that the enemies I fought will be in the same place for you. Hello, and welcome to Paris. This week we are exploring the city of love, city of lights and city of art. This video will be showing you the top 50 things to do while you visit Paris.
So we're wrapping things up here. What would be your one tip for visiting Paris? Well, I have recently spent a whole ten days here in summer. I would say that if you really want to visit the art galleries, the museums and all of the main attractions you should probably avoid summer and like either come in the spring or the fall or even winter. Because the lines are insane and sometimes you have to wait like an hour and a half or two hours just to go inside a museum or go inside a church. And you just kill a lot of time. So that is my one tip. Try and avoid summer when the crowds are just everywhere and it is also a bit too hot in my opinion. But that is just me.
So how about you? What are your final thoughts on Paris? So my finals thoughts is obviously Paris is one of the top cities in the world in terms of attractions. But it is like any other big gritty city. And you have to come with realistic expectations. There is going to be garbage, there is going to be lines, there is going to be some areas that are a bit of an eyesore. But there is also a lot of beauty and there is also a lot to do here. So I highly you recommend coming but just don't have Paris on such a high pedestal that you're going to be disappointed.

Before the area was drained into a fertile marshland, it was a swamp, and unfortunately the swamp-like odors remained centuries after the transformation. Narrow cobblestoned streets, exposed stone and beamed-buildings and slanted walls and rooflines are prevalent, a testament to the Marais's medieval history.
Today, the Marais is one of Paris's most trendy and desirable neighborhoods. It is the hub of the gay community in Paris. The Marais is also home to so many restaurants, cafes, and boutiques, many of which stay open on Sundays, an unusual phenomenon in France. Despite this modernization, the Marais still retains so much of the medieval character that was bulldozed in the 19th and 20th centuries for bigger and better structures in other parts of the City of Light—but not the medieval smell. Thankfully, the most prevalent smell these days emanates from the numerous seductive boulangeries (bakeries) and pâtisseries (pastry shops).
