A star that collapses gravitationally can reach a further stage of its life, where quantum-gravitational pressure counteracts weight. The duration of this stage is very short in the star proper time, yielding a bounce, but extremely long seen from the outside, because of the huge gravitational time dilation.

The extreme tidal forces would stretch the observer head to foot; this effect is called spaghettification.
If I chose a black hole of about 10 million times our sun's mass, I would feel only slight spaghettification forces - not enough to kill me.
You know... spaghettification isn't the simplest of physics theories... if you are studying stuff like this then you must have easy access to the knowledge base anyway.

http://www.euronews.com/ Scientists have traced a unique new map of the first light of the universe, and raised profound questions about the Big Bang. The image of the cosmic microwave background they have released was taken by ESA's Planck satellite, and its results could have a significant impact on the field of cosmology.
"It turns that most of this image, most of this map, fits beautifully our very simple model. At the same time we find some strange things, and this is where it starts to get interesting, because we see some signs of things that do not fit," explains ESA's Planck Project Scientist Jan Tauber.
"Roughly speaking the things that we are finding that are not as we expect are features that are across the whole sky. When you look only at the large features on this map you find that that our best fitting model, our best theory has a problem fitting the data, there is a lack of signal that we would expect to see," he says.
The news that the early universe is not quite as was thought has left the greatest minds in cosmology spinning with excitement.
George Efstathiou, Professor of Astrophysics, University of Cambridge, is a key member of the Planck Science Team.
"The idea that you can actually experimentally test what happened at the Big Bang still amazes me," he says.
The Big Bang theory remains intact of course, but the concept of inflation could be put to test by the Planck data.
"We see these strange patterns that are not expected in inflationary theory, the simplest inflationary theories," explains Efstathiou.
"So there's a real possibility that we have an incomplete picture. It may be that we have been fooled, that inflation didn't happen. It's perfectly possible that there was some phase of the universe before the Big Bang actually happened where you can track the history of the universe to a pre-Big Bang period."
The Planck mission could test ideas about how the early universe was formed.The puzzle is that at small scales the data fits the theoretical model very nicely, but at larger scales the signal from the cosmic microwave background is much weaker than expected.
Efstathiou is looking for answers: "Can we find a theoretical explanation that links together the different phenomena that we have seen, the different little discrepancies, with inflationary theory? That's where there's the potential for a paradigm shift, because at the moment there's no obvious theoretical explanation that links together these anomalies that we have seen. But if you found a theory that links phenomena that were previously unrelated, then that's a pointer to new physics."
It appears that the audacious Planck mission really will shed new light on the dawn of time.

The image of the cosmic microwave background they have released was taken by ESA's Planck satellite, and its results could have a significant impact on the field of cosmology.
"It turns that most of this image, most of this map, fits beautifully our very simple model. At the same time we find some strange things, and this is where it starts to get interesting, because we see some signs of things that do not fit," explains ESA's Planck Project Scientist Jan Tauber.
"Roughly speaking the things that we are finding that are not as we expect are features that are across the whole sky. When you look only at the large features on this map you find that that our best fitting model, our best theory has a problem fitting the data, there is a lack of signal that we would expect to see," he says.
The news that the early universe is not quite as was thought has left the greatest minds in cosmology spinning with excitement.
George Efstathiou, Professor of Astrophysics, University of Cambridge, is a key member of the Planck Science Team.
"The idea that you can actually experimentally test what happened at the Big Bang still amazes me," he says.
The Big Bang theory remains intact of course, but the concept of inflation could be put to test by the Planck data.
"We see these strange patterns that are not expected in inflationary theory, the simplest inflationary theories," explains Efstathiou.
"So there's a real possibility that we have an incomplete picture. It may be that we have been fooled, that inflation didn't happen. It's perfectly possible that there was some phase of the universe before the Big Bang actually happened where you can track the history of the universe to a pre-Big Bang period."
The Planck mission could test ideas about how the early universe was formed.The puzzle is that at small scales the data fits the theoretical model very nicely, but at larger scales the signal from the cosmic microwave background is much weaker than expected.
Efstathiou is looking for answers: "Can we find a theoretical explanation that links together the different phenomena that we have seen, the different little discrepancies, with inflationary theory? That's where there's the potential for a paradigm shift, because at the moment there's no obvious theoretical explanation that links together these anomalies that we have seen. But if you found a theory that links phenomena that were previously unrelated, then that's a pointer to new physics."
It appears that the audacious Planck mission really will shed new light on the dawn of time.

Very often the Planck Constant is combined with another fundamental constant of nature π
π (sometimes written pi) is a mathematical constant whose value is the ratio of any circle's circumference to its diameter this is the same value as the ratio of a circle's area to the square of its radius.
The quantity h/2π appears so often in quantum mechanics that a new symbol has been invented to describe it, called HBAR.
Few things are more certain and fixed or static than π the fact that the circumference of a circle is not exactly three times its diameter but 3.14... time it diameter.
But when we consider static things like the fixed ratio of a circle to its diameter we find that the only possible way of analyzing the facts (so as to determine the fixed value of π) is to express the relation in the form of an infinite series of irrational numbers.
π = 3.141592653589793238462643383

There are an infinite number of irrational numbers between every two numbers forming an infinity of infinities. It may seem impossible to visualize this as part of an objective reality.
But if the Planck Constant is seen as a constant of action within the fabric of spacetime that has the spherical geometry of π then it would be natural for the irrational numbers to fall out of the human mathematical system.
This theoretical interpretation solves the whole mystery of irrational numbers, but for our "Triumphant analysis" to work the Planck Constant h and π would have to be part of a dynamic universal process that forms the time continuum itself!
In this theory each photon is a new oscillation in a process that we see and feel as the flow of time itself. The quantum wave particle function explained by Schrödinger's wave equation represents the forward passage of time ∆E ∆t ≥ h/2π or Arrow of Time itself photon by photon or moment by moment.
Therefore Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle ∆×∆p×≥h/4π that is formed by the wave function is the same uncertainty we have with any future event
This makes sense mathematically, we have uncertainty between energy ∆E and time ∆t in two dimensions 2π that we see and feel as a future and past. This is formed by the two dimensional surface of the three dimensional spherical quantum wave particle function.
