When I first heard of the Hoka One One Clifton, I got really excited. A sub-8oz max cushioned shoe? IMPOSSIBLE! Well, when I got my hands (and feet) on this shoe, I was blown away that Hoka had indeed created a game changing shoe. Compared to any other Hoka in the line, the Clifton is now my favorite.
After running some 30 miles in this shoe on training runs, I opted to slip my foot into this shoe for the ultimate road test, The San Francisco Marathon. I am happy to report that the shoe performed flawlessly. It's light, it's comfortable, the upper is thin and airy, the cushion is perfect. Really the only negatives are with the typical Hoka narrowness and the potential wear & tear issues after hundreds of miles.
As they are now, the Hoka Clifton are my go-to road runners. Yes, even more-so than the Kinvara 5. Get excited about this shoe, people! It's changing Hoka's game! (and I'm even MORE excited about the Hoka Challenger ATR trail version of the Clifton due out next year!)

After running countless miles in my Hoka One One Cliftons - and considering them one of my favorite road shoes from last year - I was AMPED to finally try the Hoka One One Clifton 2! I had heard good things from the follow up so I was anxious to get my feet into these gems.
Well, there are some changes to the shoes that I think contribute to them being a bit of a side-step from the previous version. On the plus side, a lot of the "likes" from the first version remain. They're super cushioned, comfy fast road runners for the long days. I really like the addition of the padded tongue and durability overlays on the upper. However, the additional weight (over an ounce per shoe!) and added rigidity in the upper/front toe-box lead to some initial issues (ie blisters, width issues, etc).
Overall, the shoe is still good, still fun, but not quite as successful as the previous version. While I still use them now for long runs from time to time, I'm holding on to my first pair as a solid back-up/alternate version for days I just want to forget about the shoes I'm wearing and escape into cushioned comfort!

Taren spent a month testing the Hoka One One Clifton 2 cushioned maximal running shoe for this review. The Hoka One One Clifton 2 feels fantastic running underneath your foot, it has great cushioning and is very responsive too. However, the upper of the shoe took some getting used to. The Hoka Clifton 2 will be one of Taren's go-to shoes for long runs, trail runs and recovery runs.

Andrew Geoffrey "Andy" Kaufman (January 17, 1949 – May 16, 1984) was an American entertainer, actor and performance artist. While often referred to as a comedian, Kaufman did not consider himself to be one. He disdained telling jokes and engaging in comedy as it was traditionally understood, referring to himself instead as a "song-and-dance man." Elaborate hoaxes and pranks were major elements of his career. His act maintains a cult following and he continues to be respected among comedians for his original material, performance style, and unflinching commitment to character.
Kaufman was born in New York City, on January 17, 1949, the first son of Janice (née Bernstein) and Stanley Kaufman. He grew up in a middle-class Jewish family, in Great Neck, Long Island, New York, and began performing at age nine. He attended the now defunct two-year Grahm Junior College, in Boston, graduating in 1971. He then began performing stand-up comedy at various small clubs along the East Coast.
Kaufman first caught major attention with a character known as Foreign Man, who claimed to be from Caspiar (a fictional island in the Caspian Sea) and would appear on the stage of comedy clubs to play a recording of the theme from the Mighty Mouse cartoon show and sing only the chorus. He would proceed to tell a few jokes and perform a number of impersonations such as television character Archie Bunker or President Richard Nixon. Some variations of this performance were broadcast in the first season of Saturday Night Live; the Mighty Mouse number was featured in the October 11, 1975 premiere, while the joke-telling and Bunker impression were included in the November 8 broadcast that same fall.

James Eugene "Jim" Carrey (born January 17, 1962) is a Canadian-American actor, comedian, and producer. Carrey has received four Golden Globe Award nominations, winning two. Known for his highly energetic, slapstick performances, he has been described as one of the biggest movie stars in Hollywood.
Carrey first gained recognition in 1990 after landing a recurring role in the sketch comedy In Living Color. It is likely that he really didn't have any idea that he would crash the party, but realising the event was in a since a joke, Jim Carrey was very quick to act and make the best of the situation. Overall, the shoe is still good, still fun, but not quite as successful as the previous version. While I still use them now for long runs from time to time, I'm holding on to my first pair as a solid back-up/alternate version for days I just want to forget about the shoes I'm wearing and escape into cushioned comfort!

Is the song being sung from the point of view of a parent to a child? from a lover to his love? from a loved-one who has passed away? Different lines from the song lend itself to different points-of-view. My daughter wisely said that perhaps the song was supposed to encompass all these relationships. Without argument, we thought the message was about encouragement and how the most "perfect" gift we could get from those we love is to see them flourish while following their dreams. And that they always remember that "we will always be there" supporting them in spirit, if not with our physical presence, as they do it.

Hunters from Outwest Farms located in Okeechobee, Florida have posted an image showing a massive, near 15-foot, 780 pound alligator they found and killed. According to CNN, the huge reptile was discovered on Saturday on one of the ponds located on a private ranch owned by Outwest Farms owner Lee Lightsey ... They were surprised when they came across this huge alligator instead ... I hate seeing a beautiful dinosaur like that killed.???? #RIP....
