Dungeon Defenders

Dungeon Defenders is a multiplayer video game developed by Trendy Entertainment that combines the genres of tower defense and action RPG. It is based on a showcase of the Unreal Engine named Dungeon Defense. The game takes place in a fantasy setting where players control the young apprentices of wizards and warriors and defend against hordes of monsters.Dungeon Defenders was announced on August 25, 2010, and has been released on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and PC. Support for the Move accessory is planned for inclusion in the PlayStation Network version. Epic Games' Mark Rein has stated that there will be cross platform play between the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation Vita. The game was released on October 19, 2011 through Steam.

Dungeon Defenders sold over 250,000 copies in first two weeks of release and over 600,000 copies by the end of 2011. By February 2012, the game's publisher reported over one million sales across Xbox Live, PlayStation Network, and Steam.

Tower defense

Tower defense is a subgenre of real-time strategy video games, where the goal is to stop the enemies from reaching a specific point on the map by building a variety of different towers which shoot at them as they pass. Enemies and towers usually have varied abilities, costs, and upgrade prices. When an enemy is defeated, the player earns money or points, which are used to buy or upgrade towers, or upgrade the number of money or points that are earned, or even upgrade the rate at which they upgrade.

The choice and positioning of the personal towers is the essential strategy of the game. Many games, such as Flash Element Tower Defense feature enemies that run through a "maze", which allows the player to strategically place towers for optimal effectiveness. However, some versions of the genre force the user to create the maze out of their own towers, such as Desktop Tower Defense. Some versions are a hybrid of these two types, with preset paths that can be modified to some extent by tower placement, or towers that can be modified by path placement.

Patch Tuesday

Patch Tuesday (a.k.a. Update Tuesday) is an unofficial term used to refer to when Microsoft regularly releases security patches for its software products. It is widely referred to in this way by the industry. Microsoft formalized Patch Tuesday in October 2003.

Patch Tuesday occurs on the second, and sometimes fourth, Tuesday of each month in North America. As far as the integrated Windows Update function is concerned, Patch Tuesday begins at 18:00 or 17:00 UTC (10:00 PST (UTC−8) or 10:00 PDT (UTC−7). The updates show up in Download Center before they are added to WU, and the KB articles and the Technet bulletin get unlocked even later.

Microsoft has a pattern of releasing a larger number of updates in even-numbered months, and fewer in odd-numbered months. Minor updates are also released outside Patch Tuesday. Daily updates consist of malware database refreshes for Windows Defender and Microsoft Security Essentials. Sometimes there is an extraordinary Patch Tuesday, two weeks after the regular Patch Tuesday. Some updates could be released at any time.
