Lesotho 2015 - Uptown Funk Music Video

Hello! This is a music video I made when I traveled to Lesotho this year with my friends and teachers! Let me explain myself- :) Myself and some students from the Maelor School were chosen last year, along with 2 teachers to take part in an educational student exchange visit with a school in Lesotho, South Africa. In doing this, some of us got the chance to host 8 students and 2 teachers from St. Saviours high school last year in October. We spent over a week with them and they got to experience live in Wales/UK and what sort of things we are able to do (bowling, trips to London etc). To complete the student exchange, we traveled over to Lesotho this year in February for just under 2 weeks. Just like them, we got to experience what life is like in Lesotho, from visiting the different primary schools and high schools, climbing -very high and steep- mountains and taking part in their culture. Life out there is so different to life here in Wales/UK, but we are also very similar in very many ways. Both countries share a strong passion for music, every when we went in Lesotho, whether it was a party or just someone turning on some music, everyone would be on their feet dancing and singing along. It was a blast!!! Everyone in Lesotho was so warm and welcoming, I've never received such a fantastic welcome in all my life! Wherever we were, people would stop and say 'Hello' to us, or as they say in Lesotho 'Lumela'! We all felt like celebrities, everyone wanted pictures with us! Now, some people may find that overwhelming with everyone staring at you, or even wanting to touch your skin, but I never felt any discomfort, in a way, it felt like home. A place where I felt happy. When the 8 of us received the letter telling us that we had been picked to go to Lesotho, we were all quite good friends and some even meeting for the first time, but I feel that this experience with everyone has brought us closer together. It was one heck of an experience to be taken into with some people that I wasn't very close with, but the more time we spent together, the more we became closer and developed memories and friendships that I hope to keep for a long time. And all of the friendships which I made, along with the rest of my group out in Lesotho, I hope to keep forever! They are always in my heart, Lesotho is in my heart! We decided that making a music video would help us to remember everything that we did out there, all the fun memories and good times that we shared! Not everything was included in the music video, Rich made a separate video with everything included, which maybe I will be able to post at another time. All in all, it was one of the best experience that I have ever had in my life, so far! I don't know what else to say, I feel emotional just writing this! I don't think I missed anything else... Oh! I love all my Lesotho family, including both the people of Lesotho and my friends from Team Lesotho 2015. Thank you for the fantastic experience, and I will definitely be returning in the future! :) If anyone has any questions or if they are thinking about going to Lesotho, whether you go to the Maelor School or not, GO!
