Hathras
Hathras is a city and a municipal board in Hathras district (formerly Mahamaya Nagar district) in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is the headquarters of the district that was created on 3 May 1997 by incorporating parts of: Aligarh, Mathura, Agra Districts, and Khair Tehsil. It forms a part of Aligarh Division. Mahamaya Nagar district was renamed Hathras in July 2012.
Hathras lies within the Braj region in Central or Middle Doab, and is associated with the epic Mahabharata and Hindu theology. The principal spoken language is Hindi. Its dialect, Braj Bhasha, which is closely related to Khariboli, is spoken in this region.
Geography
Hathras is located at 27°36′N 78°03′E / 27.6°N 78.05°E / 27.6; 78.05. It has an average elevation of 178 metres (584 feet). It is situated on Agra, Aligarh and Mathura, and Bareilly Highways' crossing. Variations in temperature are extreme.

It's located at the site of the legendary city of Indraprastha, that was founded by Pandavas on the banks of perennial river Yamuna, which is revered by Hindus since ages, points to the possibility of this site's history dating back to nearly more than 5000 years old. Consequently the fort is considered by some, to be 'the first city of Delhi'.
Purana Qila, situated on the banks of Yamuna, was constructed by the Pandavas as Indraprastha 5,000 years ago, during the period of the Indus Valley civilization. It is where Humayun's capital Din Panah was located. Later it was renovated and named Shergarh by the first Afghan emperor of India, Sher Shah Suri. The Hindu king Hemu (Samrat Hem Chandra Vikramaditya), often referred to as the last Hindu emperor of India, was crowned there after defeating Akbar's forces in the Battle of Delhi (1556) on 7 October 1556.
Fort was called as the inner citadel of the city of Dina-panah during Humayun's rule who renovated it in 1533 and completed five years later.Purana Qila and its environs flourished as the "sixth city of Delhi".

The fort is built on a hill, north of the Aligarh Muslim University at Barauli Marg. It has steep ravines, over 30 feet high, on every side, and bastions in every angle on the walls. Now Aligarh fort is in the control of Aligarh Muslim University. The university uses part of the internal area fort as location for its department of Botany. The fort has been the seat of many governors and other rulers of this land, including Sabit Khan, Surajmal Jat in 1753 and mentioned Madhavrao Scindia in 1759. The fort was expanded three times in 1753 by lieutenant Banasaur, commanding officer of contemporary ruler Surajmal Jat, to include a basement, an explosives warehouse and an air cooled kitchen.
Aligarh fort, as it stands today, is the work of the French engineers under the control of de Boigne and Perron.

Few info About New Delhi Station :-
The New Delhi Railway Station (station code NDLS), situated between Ajmeri Gate and Paharganj is the main railway station in Delhi. New Delhi railway station is the busiest and largest railway station in India. It handles over 350 trains and 500,000 passengers daily with 16 platforms. The New Delhi railway station holds the record for the largest route interlocking system in the world along with the Kanpur Central Railway Station i.e. 48. The station is about two kilometres north of Connaught Place, in central Delhi.
Most eastbound and southbound trains originate at New Delhi Railway Station. However, some important trains to other parts of the country also touch/originate at this station.
Before the new imperial capital New Delhi was established after 1911, the Old Delhi Railway Station served the entire city and the Agra-Delhi railway line cut through what is today called Lutyens' Delhi and the site earmarked for the hexagonal All-India War Memorial (now India Gate) and Kingsway (now Rajpath). The railway line was shifted along Yamuna river and opened in 1924 to make way for the new capital. Minto (now Shivaji) and Hardinge (now Tilak) rail bridges came up for this realigned line. The East Indian Railway Company, that overlooked railways in the region, sanctioned the construction of a single story building and a single platform between Ajmeri Gate and Paharganj in 1926. This was later known as New Delhi Railway station. The government's plans to have the new station built inside the Central Park of Connaught Place was rejected by the Railways as it found the idea impractical. In 1927–28, New Delhi Capital Works project involving construction of 4.79 miles (7.71 km) of new lines was completed. The Viceroy and royals entered the city through the new railway station during the inauguration of New Delhi in 1931. New structures were added to the railway station later and the original building served as the parcel office for many years
In 2007, Farrells were commissioned to modernise and expand the station in time for the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi. Farrells are the lead consultant for the Masterplan for Indian Railways for the redevelopment of New Delhi Railway Station to be in line with the pace of modernisation and growth in the city centre. To provide station and property development over and around the station. The first phase was planned to be operational by the time of the games. The redevelopment was expected to cost ₹60 billion (US$895.8 million) and 13 consortiums have placed bids to win the contract to upgrade and modernise the terminal[6] on a Build-Operate-Transfer basis for 30 years.

The station occupies 86 ha and 10–20% of it (50 acres) could be used for retail and commercial use. In September 2009, the new building of the station on the Ajmeri Gate side was opened by Northern Railway; built at Rs250,000,000 by Gangotri Enterprises Limited and the building has a total floor area of 9,000 m2 spread over three floors
Northern Railways concluded a tender in May 2013, won by a Mumbai-based company, to enable free Wi-Fi connectivity at the station, at an approximate cost of ₹8 million (US$120,000). Service became available later in the year

Dara Shikoh Library- Dara Shikoh Library is the part of Department of Archeology. Built by Emperor Shaha Jehans liberal intellectual son and chosen successor, Dara Shikoh. When Dara Shikoh was killed by his Brother Aurengzeb, the property of Dara Shikoh passed on to the hands of Britishers. Taken by Sir Ochterlony, it was renovated, with Verandah and several pillars added to it. Several Historical and Precious Books can be found here. The building holds importance for its Mughal and British Architecture.
