Description

Opening on to the wetlands reserve with plenty of open areas for kids and pets and less than a kilometer from the beach this is a holiday you won’t forget!
For adults; spend your days at the beach, numerous local wineries and the cider house or enjoying the heart of Ocean Grove and other vibrant nearby towns including Point Lonsdale, Queenscliffe and Barwon Heads. At night relax to the sounds of water birds and frogs and have a fire in the brazier overlooking the wetlands and listening to the crash of the surf, or walk to the pub up the road for dinner and drinks. Wind down with a soak in the deep spa bath or nap in the hammock on the back porch.
For families; entertaining the kids is easy! The back fence opens onto the wetlands reserve offering acres of green space to roam and explore and even feed the ducks! With a large open area for sports with houses excluding access to the road for most of the area which has a very private feel. If that’s not enough just a 300m walk up the road is a large sporting oval. During the day it is a short walk to the beach and a short drive to the local water park, a must see! Other activities include guided tours of the Queenscliffe fort and learn to surf lessons held regularly thought the warmer months in Ocean Grove. The local pub has a huge play area for kids including an in ground trampoline and is only a short 800m walk or, if you prefer, use the barbecue in the back yard and enjoy the view.

Bring the fur family too!

We welcome well mannered dogs and are happy to provide dog beds and bowls. We are within a short walk of the massive off-lead dog beach (some seasonal restrictions apply). While the property is fenced the back fence is only half height to allow you to take in the view so it is not ideal for escape artists.

Information for you stay

The house itself has three bedrooms and a massive bathroom with deep, single spa tub and rain head shower. Cooling and heating is by split system air conditioning. Two of the bedrooms in the house have queen size beds and the third, two sets of bunk beds- sleeping up to 8 people. The house has an additional living area in the double storey wooden ‘barn’ with another queen bed and a single bed (sleeping another three people). These are upstairs with a lovely view of the lake. Downstairs is a large living space. This unit has its own split system for heating and cooling. There is an additional toilet in the separate laundry and a private outdoor shower, for a nice hot shower after a swim or a surf. There is one baby cot in the house and a second is available on request. There is also one baby high chair in the house.

Information on the local attractions are supplied and linen and towels will be supplied for the number of guests booked (if you have a preference on beds please let us know). Great for multiple couples or families holidaying together. Booking fee includes linen for up to four people. Each additional person will be charged at $10 per head for linen and towels.

Please let us know the number of couples, singles, kids and pets so we can make the house up appropriately for your stay.

This property is not available for use for schoolies groups or young party groups.

Note: two additional single sized thick foam mattresses are always available for use should you need to sleep more people whoever these are best suited to children.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wetland views Best property i have stayed at. The kids said it and I agree. Clean and quiet on a busy ocean grove weekend. The dog also gave this property the wag of approval. Kids had the appartment with the games and wii. We had the house. The only time we left the house was to eat and hit the beach. Thanks for a relaxing weekend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a GREAT stay! We had a wonderful stay at this property while in the area for a wedding. All the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped. The bathroom is particularly gorgeous. The extra bedrooms in the separate living annex were a welcomed bonus for our large family. The location was beautiful and I would highly recommend this property.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A revitalising surprise The photos of this serene getaway do not do it justice, and neither do the descriptions. Seeing the bird-life ducking and bobbing in the water, and watching the electric storm sweep over the greenery are images I'll treasure. Walking along the beach at sunset, and snuggled up on the soft couch watching movies, as well as the clever sleeping arrangements for loads of kids - all of these aspects meant that this holiday was a refreshing pleasure. Very impressed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nothing left wanting I've never stayed at such a well stocked house. All the things you'd want including nice personal touches (cute toddler towel for my young one) and who ever heard of a holiday house with sharp knives? The property was immaculate and it wasn't hard to relax with the deck and view of the wetlands. I could go on but part of the fun was experiencing the little surprises I wasn't expecting. If you book here you definitely won't be disappointed, I'm just sorry that I live in Canberra but if I was closer this would be a go to spot for my holidays with friends and family as the space is brilliant and I haven't slept on a bed that comfortable in a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Relaxing holiday experience Lovely quiet location with fantastic view of the wetlands and access to parkland which was great to walk the dogs. Easy access to the beach and coffee shop. Lovely home with mod cons and comfortable clean furniture. Will be coming back again.
