The Daily Kitchen is THE place to meet friends, family and colleagues, while enjoying healthy, tasty and creative food and drinks.

At The Daily Kitchen we save our customers time and keep their hunger at bay by creating meals, desserts, snacks, treats and drinks that you can choose to eat on the go or sit and enjoy.

We don't order in our sandwiches, wraps, baguettes or salads – we make them daily by hand, in our own kitchen, to provide you with maximum freshness and quality.

VU at MetroWest (Footscray)

Catch up for a tea or coffee with friends at the Co-café. We have a variety of homemade treats to share, including daily specials and combos.

Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere, play a game of table tennis or two, and get cosy at the Co-café.

Co-op members can enjoy discounts on all of the Co-café products. We're open during VU at MetroWest opening hours.

Catering menu 

If you're having a function at VU at MetroWest and want to include catering for the event, the Co-café has all your needs covered.

We cater for any size function day or evening, and can cater for vegan, lactose/gluten free requirements.

The basic menu is as follows:

• food platters:
  • sandwiches (veg/non veg)
  • fruit
  • cheese
  • savoury (veg/non veg): including savoury muffins, spring rolls/samosas, pastizzi, roast vegie shish kebabs, mini quiches/frittatas, party pies/sausage rolls
• sweets, including slices, cakes, muffins and cookies
• drinks including coffee/tea, soft drinks and juice.

This is not the full extent of our menu. We can accommodate most requests.

External caterers

While Victoria University does not have exclusive catering contracts, these are our preferred caterers. The companies listed above can cater on any Victoria University campus and comply with all relevant laws and regulations.

If you decide to hire an external caterer, it is your duty of care to to ensure they provide comply with the relevant laws.

As a guide, you should ask the following questions:

• Does the caterer have public liability insurance?
• Does the caterer have a registered business name with an Australian Business Number (ABN)?
• Does the caterer have a current Food Act Registration?
• Does the caterer use an approved food transport vehicle?
• Does the caterer have an approved food safety plan?
• If liquor is to be served, does the caterer or premises have an appropriate liquor licence?
• Is the caterer willing and have the ability to safely cater for people with food allergies?

The local government council in the area where the caterer is based can be contacted to verify most of this information.

Vending machines

There are a number of vending machines on each campus. Choose from chips, chocolate, juice, water, soft drink, coffee, noodles and a variety of Asian snacks/drinks.
