Woolmer was known for his progressive coaching and extensive computerized analysis on technique improvement. He is credited with making the reverse sweep a popular shot for batsmen in the 1990s, as well as being one of the first to to adapt the knowledge of goalkeepers to wicketkeepers in cricket. He was one of five Wisden Cricketers of the Year in 1976 and was posthumously honoured with the Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Star of Excellence), a high ranking civil award of Pakistan, for his contribution to Pakistan cricket.

"Poisoned before being strangled". "A team more interested in praying than playing". Players "members of a Sunni fundamentalist group". Bob Woolmer's "death is shrouded in mystery". Pakistan team media manager PJ Mir flees the country claiming a fatwa is issued against him. No wonder this whole scandal has been hushed up. Nothing going on here. Move along. Except that this documentary exposes many more hidden facts about cricket match fixing..... well done beeb.

Impressive. Bob was definately a professional coach. Though in these videos he's teaching basics of batting but I believe even professionals can learn from this. (Bowling and Wicket keeping/fielding videos comming soon) Part2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-soOsOLIGQ

Perhaps the most dramatic day of any World Cup, as the Pakistan coach Bob Woolmer is very sadly found dead in his hotel room. And this follows a mad morning in which Freddie Flintoff's pedalo antics have been revealed in the Sunday newspapers, leading to his removal from the England team in their match against Canada. Here is how the BBC covered all this in their highlights programme. Note the slightly-too-cheery-to-be-appropriate continuity announcement, Manish Bhasin trying his best to sound sincere (and doing a good job on what must have been a very taxing day, but making one 'Colman ball': "...the death of Bob Woolmer, who died today"), Michael Vaughan attempting to keep a straight face in the toss interview when discussing the 'Fredalo' incident, the inclusion of a pre-made feature...

Close your eyes, feel the power of the fantasy
Into the dreams, see the colour of the mystery
Turn to light, cause darkness is your real enemy
Close your eyes and tell me what you see
All of those dreams are bright as stars
That flame in the twilight
You never give up to follow those lights
Close your eyes and tell me what you see
To have a dream's to wonder like to be free
You hear the voice of eternity
Feel the power of the fantasy
You remember the old stories in your memory,
Into the dreams, listen the call of the fairies
See the light, only you can change your reality
Close your eyes and tell me what you see
All of those dreams are bright as stars
That flame in the twilight
You never give up to follow those lights
Close your eyes and tell me what you see
To have dream's to wonder like to be free
You hear the voice of eternity
