Sex Tape Posted on Twitter Gets Minnesota Basketball Players Suspended
Prior to last night’s
Minnesota/
Illinois game, Minnesota announced that they were suspending three players for the entirety of the game due to a violation of team rules.
Head coach Richard Pitino didn’t say what the players did to deserve their suspensions, but he revealed that Nate
Mason,
Kevin Dorsey, and Dupree McBrayer were all being suspended for not living up to the “expectations and standards to which we hold our student-athletes accountable.”
Under normal circumstances, that wouldn’t be much of a story.
College athletes, er, student-athletes get suspended all the time for skipping classes, getting bad grades, and, well, being college kids. But in this particular instance, it sounds like Minnesota might have a big problem on its hands.
According to Deadspin, the three players were suspended after Dorsey (pictured above) posted two videos to his
Twitter account on Friday night that showed him and another man having sex with a woman. The videos were quickly deleted, and Dorsey eventually deleted his entire Twitter account. But the videos turned into a hot topic on the GopherHole.com message board with several people who had seen the videos describing what was going on in them. Here's one graphic description of what was reportedly on the videos.
