Anyway, I later found out that this was a response to his performance at XPN, or lack there of. I think this was his kind of apologizing, and also going into further context. I think he's a very smart guy. His performance at MoPop was really good, it was my first time at MoPop but my second time seeing FJM, but I enjoyed this one a lot cause I actually knew all of his songs better than last time. He sang some new songs too which was cool! I didn't record them because they aren't out yet and he didn't want it leaked. Anyway, I think he means well and has a lot of good things to say, and it's okay for artists to take a few minutes to share their thoughts, as long as they also perform as planned, which he did! At least at MoPop. I didn't get all of it but he opened with talking about fascists and I think morally he's in a good spot. Although he's kind of vague, I'm pretty sure a lot of his anger is in response to the republican party and no coincidence his speech at XPN was right after the Donald Trump shit. How media should stop giving these people a spotlight. And then at MoPop he kind of gave more context to why he talked so much at XPN, and said although he is critical of entertainment, he enjoys entertaining. And that people should just be cautious of what entertainment hey consume. You'd have to follow my train of thought, but it kinda reminds me of Bo Burnham on how many entertainers aren't worth your time because they aren't worth it.
