Could taste your sweet kisses, your arms open wide
This fever for you was just burning me up inside
I drove all night to get to you
Is that all right?
I drove all night, crept in your room
Woke you from your sleep to make love to you
Is that all right?
I drove all night

We went to the beautiful & scenic village of Dent in Yorkshire last month.Through this village runs the Settle-Carlisle railway and we were really happy to travel in it.
The Settle-Carlisle railway journey is a memorable one to anyone as it passes through some unspoilt landscape and dales which are truly breathtaking.It also passes through some beautiful meadows and lush riverside pastures.There are 11 stations, 22 viaducts and 14 tunnels on this line.
The viaducts are truly breathtaking and are must see structures.
I really wanted to see the magnificent & the longest 24 arch viaduct at Ribblehead.We took the train journey from Dent to Ribblehead and back.We also walked near it & went under it.I did the train journey for a sorter video for easy viewing.
Welcome to England's most scenic railway
================================
Welcome to Settle-Carlisle country.The Settle - Carlisle Railway is without doubt one of Britain's most spectacular railway lines.
The line is probably the most scenic railway journey in England. It has survived two attempts to close it - once in the early 1960s and later in the 1980s. Both attempts caused local and national outrage. However, fortunes have now changed as millions of pounds have been spent upgrading tracks and stations. The line opened in 1876 - we hope the line is here for many more generations to come.
The 72 mile route from Settle to Carlisle takes you on a journey through the magnificent Yorkshire Dales, the line heads north up Ribblesdale between the towering gritstone capped fells of Yorkshire's famous Three Peaks - Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-Ghent.
Over the 24 arches of the magnificent Ribblehead Viaduct before plunging in to the longest tunnel on the line at Blea Moor. Emerging onto the side of Dentdale,(one of the more remote - and dramatic - northern dales) the line leaves the Dales at Garsdale and makes it way through the gentle, lush rolling hills of the Eden Valley. with rural villages and market towns before arriving at the great border city of Carlisle.
Ribblehead Station
===============
Ribblehead Station is in one of the most beautiful areas on the Settle to Carlisle line.This was one of the most difficult sections of the line ever to be built.The station is unstaffed.
The magnificent Ribblehead Viaduct - 24 arches crossing Batty Moss 100 feet below and 440 yards long, follows the station. Ribblehead station now houses a Visitor Centre in the refurbished station building.
Shortly after the viaduct is Blea Moor Tunnel, at 2629 yards long & built1870-1875.This is the longest tunnel on the line.The area of Ribblehead station and viaduct is one of the wildest and most remote in the North of England. Frequently there is a very strong wind and the weather can close in very quickly.
In 1938 Ribblehead became a meteorological report point.
Dent station
==========
Dent is the highest mainline station in England.Dent station first opened for public use in 1877 - it closed in 1970 and reopened in 1986. Dent village is situated 4 miles away and 600 feet lower than the station.
The weather is the prevalent feature at Dent. Snow fences made from old railway sleepers can be seen on the right when travelling towards Carlisle. These were used to try and keep the snow off the tracks, but were not always successful, as was found to be the case in the winter of 1947. At the peak of its use 90 trains a day passed through the station.However it is unstaffed today.
Dent Head Viaduct - 100 ft. high , 199 yds. long,10 arches, Built 1870-1875
Ribblehead Viaduct
================
Ribblehead viaduct is actually the largest and most famous viaduct throughout the whole of the Settle to Carlisle railway line. The viaduct has 24 arches, is 104 feet high and 440 yards long.Built 1870-1875.
The wind is very prevalent around the Station and viaduct and many signalmen, crossing the viaduct, going to Bleamoor signal box have been blown off the embankment. During the war a train carrying vehicles was even blown off. There has even been the odd steam engine blown to a halt.
Construction of Ribblehead Viaduct took 5 years although it was not decided until December 1872 whether to have 24 or 18 arches. This depended on the workforce available - either stonemasons or navvies. The brick arches of a nominal 45ft span were sprung with stone voussoirs. The stone was quarried between Selside and Ribblehead.
During the building of the line over 2,000 people mainly 'navvies' lived at Batty Moss in temporary huts. When not working on the line navvies and miners lived in squalid conditions, and drinking, gambling and fighting were the main recreation.A school and hospital of sorts was established and missionaries were even sent in. Many lives were lost during the building of the viaduct.

Bridgetown (metropolitan pop 110,000 (2014)) is the capital and largest city of the nation of Barbados. Formerly, the Town of Saint Michael, the Greater Bridgetown area is located within the parish of Saint Michael. Bridgetown is sometimes locally referred to as "The City", but the most common reference is simply "Town".
The Bridgetown port, found along Carlisle Bay (at 13.106°N 59.632°W) lies on the southwestern coast of the island. Parts of the Greater Bridgetown area (as roughly defined by the Ring Road Bypass or more commonly known as the ABC Highway),[3] sit close to the borders of the neighbouring parishes Christ Church and St. James. The Grantley Adams International Airport for Barbados, is located 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) southeast of Bridgetown city centre, and has daily flights to major cities in the United Kingdom, United States, Canada and the Caribbean. While there is no longer local municipal government, it is governed as a political constituency within the national Parliament. During the short lived 1950s-1960s Federation of the British West Indian Territories, Bridgetown was one of three capital cities[4] within the region being considered to be the Federal capital of region.
The present day location of the city was established by English settlers in 1628 following a prior settlement under the authority of Sir William Courten at St. James Town. Bridgetown is a major West Indies tourist destination, and the city acts as an important financial, informatics, convention centre, and cruise ship port of call in the Caribbean region. On 25 June 2011, Historic Bridgetown and its Garrison were added as a World Heritage Site of UNESCO.

Shepherd Entertainment gives you the history of Antigua in the Canary Islands. Its visitors can enjoy the development on
its architecture, the fortress of Grand Tarajal and the unusual black sanded beach, among other spectacular location worth visiting.
Antigua is one of the oldest cities of Fuerteventura. It was established by Norman settlers in 1485. They brought windmills in order to irrigate the islands on which they grew crops and fodder plants. They raised animals such as goats and sheep. Antigua on the occasion of the 370th anniversary of its foundation was made the capital. Before that, Betancuria and after that -- received this privilege. The white church of Nuestra Senora de Antigua with wooden vaulted and stoned framework decorated with folk motifs originates in this time.
The fortress of Grand Tarajal was built in Normal times when the conqueror, Jean de Bethancourt invaded the island with his troops. The town created around the fortress has become the second biggest city by the 20th century. The beach of the city, Las Playitas, covered by black sand is very popular among visitors.

"Travelogue, made for theatrical showing and commissioned by Chevrolet, promoting tourism by car..."
Reupload of a previously uploaded film with improved video & sound.
Public domain film from the Prelinger Archives, slightly cropped to remove uneven edges, with the aspect ratio corrected, and one-pass brightness-contrast-color correction & mild video noise reduction applied.
The soundtrack was also processed with volume normalization, noise reduction, clipping reduction, and/or equalization (the resulting sound, though not perfect, is far less noisy than the original).

The Pennsylvania Turnpike is a toll highway system operated by the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States. The three sections of the turnpike system total 532 miles (856 km). The main section extends from Ohio (west) to New Jersey (east) and is 359 miles (578 km) long. The 110-mile (180 km) Northeast Extension extends from Plymouth Meeting in the southeast to Wilkes-Barre and Scranton in the northeast. The various access segments in Western Pennsylvania total 62 miles (100 km).
The highway serves most of Pennsylvania's major urban areas. The main east/west section serves the Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, and Philadelphia areas, while its Northeast Extension serves the Allentown/Bethlehem and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre areas.
This system has an optional payment method called E-ZPass, where tolls are paid electronically through a transponder attached to the car either behind its rear-view mirror or to the front bumper.
The Pennsylvania Turnpike is part of the U.S. Interstate Highway System, and is signed with the following route numbers:
- Interstate 76. Interstate 76 comprises the majority of the system, starting at the turnpike's western terminus at the Ohio state line, and continuing to the Valley Forge exit, where Interstate 76 leaves the turnpike.
- Interstate 70 joins the turnpike at New Stanton, Exit 75, and runs concurrently with Interstate 76 until leaving the turnpike at Breezewood, Exit 161 (the only other tolled section of I-70 is on the Kansas Turnpike). This section is internally known as State Route 7076.[2]
- Interstate 276. Interstate 76 leaves the turnpike mainline at Valley Forge/Philadelphia, Exit 326, where it begins to follow the Schuylkill Expressway. At that point, the turnpike becomes Interstate 276 for 32.65 mi (52.55 km)[3] until it meets with a spur of the New Jersey Turnpike at the Delaware River, at the turnpike's eastern end. Some maps have the I-276 shield on the New Jersey Turnpike extension. This section is internally known as State Route 7276.[2]
- Interstate 376. Interstate 376 is a recent addition to the Pennsylvania Turnpike system, known as the James E. Ross Highway, formerly signed as Pennsylvania Route 60.
- Interstate 476. The Northeast Extension, which meets the turnpike mainline at milepost 333.5 (the interchange is designated as Exit-20, the milepost marker for I-476), is signed as part of Interstate 476. This section was originally signed as Pennsylvania Route 9 before redesignation in the 1990s. This section is internally known as State Route 7476.[2]
- Interstate 95. The turnpike mainline currently crosses Interstate 95; however, there is no direct connection between the two routes. Once the Pennsylvania Turnpike/Interstate 95 Interchange Project northeast of Philadelphia is completed, which will add a direct connection, the section of the turnpike east of that interchange (now Interstate 276) will be redesignated Interstate 95...
History
Governor Earle signed the Turnpike into law on May 21, 1937, and construction began shortly after, with the first section from the Pittsburgh suburb of Irwin, Pennsylvania to Carlisle, Pennsylvania opening in 1940, and from Ohio line to the New Jersey line in 1956. When the first section opened in 1940, it was built to higher design standards and extended over a longer distance than any other limited-access divided highway in the United States, and was the first inter-city expressway comparable to the German Autobahn. Before World War II it was popularly known as the "tunnel highway" because of the seven mountain tunnels along its route.
First section
The turnpike was partly constructed on an unused railroad grade intended for the aborted South Pennsylvania Railroad project, and six of its seven original tunnels (all except the Allegheny Mountain tunnel) were first bored for that railroad. The construction began in the 1880s but was never completed. A combined total of 4.5 miles (7.2 km) of tunnel had been dug through seven mountains...

Antigua and Barbuda is a twin-island nation lying between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. It consists of two major inhabited islands, Antigua and Barbuda, and a number of smaller islands (including Great Bird, Green, Guinea, Long, Maiden and York Islands and further south, the island of Redonda). The permanent population numbers approximately 81,800 (at the 2011 Census) and the capital and largest port and city is St. John's, on Antigua.
Separated by a few nautical miles, Antigua and Barbuda are in the middle of the Leeward Islands, part of the Lesser Antilles, roughly at 17 degrees north of the Equator. The country is nicknamed "Land of 365 Beaches" due to the many beaches surrounding the islands. Its governance, language, and culture have all been strongly influenced by the British Empire, of which the country was formerly a part.
Antigua was first settled by Archaic Age hunter-gatherer Amerindians called the Siboney or Ciboney.[2] Carbon-dating has established that the earliest settlements started around 3100 BC. They were succeeded by the Ceramic Age pre-Columbian Arawak-speaking Saladoid people who migrated from the lower Orinoco River.
The Arawaks introduced agriculture, raising, among other crops, the famous Antigua Black Pineapple (Moris cultivar of Ananas comosus), corn, sweet potatoes (white with firmer flesh than the bright orange "sweet potato" used in the United States), chiles, guava, tobacco and cotton.
The indigenous West Indians made excellent seagoing vessels which they used to sail the Atlantic and the Caribbean. As a result, Caribs and Arawaks were able to colonize much of South America and the Caribbean Islands. Their descendants still live there, notably in Brazil, Venezuela and Colombia.
Most Arawaks left Antigua around 1100 AD; those who remained were later raided by the Caribs. According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, the Caribs' superior weapons and seafaring prowess allowed them to defeat most of the West Indian Arawak nations, enslaving some and possibly cannibalizing others.
The Catholic Encyclopedia does make it clear that the European invaders had some difficulty differentiating between the native peoples they encountered. As a result, the number and types of ethnic/tribal groups in existence at that time may have been much more varied and numerous than just the two mentioned in this article.
European and African diseases, malnutrition and slavery eventually killed most of the Caribbean's native population, although no researcher has conclusively proven any of these causes as the real reason for these deaths.[3] Smallpox was probably the greatest killer.[4] In fact, some historians[who?] believe that the psychological stress of slavery may also have played a part in the massive number of deaths amongst enslaved natives. Others believe that the reportedly abundant, but starchy, low-protein diet may have contributed to severe malnutrition of the Amerindians, who were used to a diet fortified with protein from the sea.[3]
The island of Antigua, originally called "Wa'ladli" by Arawaks, is today called "Wadadli" by locals. It is possible that Caribs called it "Wa'omoni". Christopher Columbus, while sailing by in 1493, may have named it Santa Maria la Antigua after an icon in the Spanish Seville Cathedral. The Spaniards did not colonize Antigua because it lacked fresh water but not aggressive Caribs.
The English settled on Antigua in 1632; Sir Christopher Codrington settled on Barbuda in 1684. Slavery, established to run sugar plantations around 1684, was abolished in 1834. The British ruled from 1632 to 1981, with a brief French interlude in 1666.
The islands became an independent state within the Commonwealth of Nations on 1 November 1981, with Elizabeth II as the first Queen of Antigua and Barbuda. The Right Honourable Vere Cornwall Bird Sr became the first Prime Minister.

http://ibm.co/XSW1AC The city of Honolulu and IBM are transforming how citizens interact with government. By providing transparent and secure access to city data, Honolulu supports services in a cloud. This enables citizens to create exciting new services themselves which fosters greater civic engagement and encourages dialog between government and the public. As mayor Peter Carlisle puts it, "Our goal is to create Honolulu as the lean, clean, smart city of the future." For more information, see: http://ibm.co/XSW1AC
