Edward Albert Heimberger (April 22, 1906 – May 26, 2005), known professionally as Eddie Albert, was an American actor and activist. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1954 for his performance in Roman Holiday, and in 1973 for The Heartbreak Kid.
Other well-known screen roles of his include Bing Edwards in the Brother Rat films, traveling salesman Ali Hakim in the musical Oklahoma!, and the sadistic prison warden in 1974's The Longest Yard. He starred as Oliver Wendell Douglas in the 1960s television situation comedy Green Acres and as Frank MacBride in the 1970s crime drama Switch. He also had a recurring role as Carlton Travis on Falcon Crest, opposite Jane Wyman.
Edward Albert Heimberger was born in Rock Island, Illinois, on April 22, 1906, the oldest of the five children of Frank Daniel Heimberger, a realtor, and his wife Julia Jones. His year of birth is often given as 1908, but this is incorrect. His parents were not married when Albert was born, and his mother altered his birth certificate after her marriage.
Green Acres is an American sitcom starring Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor as a couple who move from New York City to a country farm. Produced by Filmways as a sister show to Petticoat Junction, the series was first broadcast on CBS, from September 15, 1965, to April 27, 1971.
Receiving solid ratings during its six-year run, Green Acres was cancelled in 1971 as part of the "rural purge" by CBS. The sitcom has been in syndication and is available in DVD and VHS releases. In 1997 the two-part episode "A Star Named Arnold is Born" was ranked #59 on TV Guide's 100 Greatest Episodes of All Time.
Following the success of The Beverly Hillbillies and Petticoat Junction, CBS offered producer Paul Henning another half-hour on the schedule--with no pilot required (which was very unusual). Henning encouraged colleague Jay Sommers to create a series for the time slot. Sommers created the show based on his 1950 radio series, Granby's Green Acres. The radio series, which lasted 13 episodes, had starred Gale Gordon and Bea Benaderet as a big-city family who moved to the country.
Eva Gabor (February 11, 1919 – July 4, 1995) was a Hungarian-born American socialite and actress. She was widely known for her role on the 1965-71 television sitcom Green Acres as Lisa Douglas, the wife of Eddie Albert's character, Oliver Wendell Douglas. She voiced "Duchess" in the 1970 Disney film The Aristocats, and Miss Bianca in Disney’s The Rescuers and The Rescuers Down Under. Gabor was successful as an actress in film, on Broadway and on television. She was also a successful businessperson, marketing wigs, clothing and beauty products. Her elder sisters, Zsa Zsa and Magda Gabor, were also actresses and socialites.
Gabor was born in Budapest, Hungary, to a Hungarian Jewish mother and a Hungarian father, the youngest of three daughters of Vilmos Gábor (died 1962), a soldier, and his wife Jolie (born Janka Tilleman; 1896–1997), a jeweler. She was the first of the sisters to emigrate to the US, shortly after her first marriage, to a Swedish osteopath, Dr. Eric Drimmer, whom she married in 1939 when she was 20 years old.
Green Acres is an American sitcom starring Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor as a couple who move from New York City to a rural country farm. The series was first broadcast on CBS, from September 15, 1965 to April 27, 1971.
Maxwell Emmett "Pat" Buttram (June 19, 1915 – January 8, 1994) was an American actor, known for playing the sidekick of Gene Autry and for playing the character of Mr. Haney in the television series Green Acres. He had a distinctive voice which, in his own words, "never quite made it through puberty".
Buttram was born in Addison in Winston County, Alabama, to Wilson McDaniel Buttram, a Methodist minister, and his wife Mary Emmett Maxwell. He had an older brother, Augustus McDaniel Buttram, and five other elder siblings. When "Pat" Buttram was a year old, his father was transferred to Nauvoo, Alabama. Buttram graduated from Mortimer Jordan High School, which was then located in Morris, Alabama, then entered Birmingham–Southern College to study for the Methodist ministry.
Buttram performed in college plays and on a local radio station, before he became a regular on the National Barn Dance in Chicago, Illinois. He also had his own program on CBS.

After Granny had visited Hooterville, and then the rest of the Clampett clan, it was time for Sam Drucker to visit Hollywood and "claim his prize!" I believe Sam was the only one to visit Beverly Hills as his Petticoat Junction/Green Acres character, but Lori Saunders, Mike Minor, and Charles Lane would make appearances in S9 of The Beverly Hillbillies after Petticoat Junction was cancelled in 1970. There is absolutely no copyright infringement intended. Constantly Being Stalled (CBS) still seems to hold a grudge against this show. Although it was one of the highest rated comedies during its run, they have refused to bring it or Petticoat Junction to DVD in a timely manner, going 2 years between releases at times. Hilarious comedy and song routine with cows and Motion Picture-TV star Eddie Albert ("Green Acres" fame). Dean, attempting to milk the cow, tries to calm the animal by singing "I'll Be Seeing You", that doesn't work, and they both sing the country song, "Beautiful Brown Eyes". The song was written in 1951 by Fiddlin' Arthur Smith and Alton Delmore of "The Delmore Brothers".

Eddie Albert (Green Acres) and Robert Wagner (Hart To Hart) star as unlikely partners in a private investigation agency. Each episode features the pair creating an elaborate con job to catch the bad guys. This pilot movie originally aired on March 21, 1975 and launched the successful TV series. If there is sufficient interest, I have nearly all of this series and can post it. Comments welcome. The quality is best available (not so great, but off a VHS from the early days of satellite TV).
The movie follows two adolescents with acute psychic powers who are chased by a scheming millionaire who wants to harness their special powers for his benefit. A cynical widower, helps the kids "escape to witch mountain," while at the same time the kids help him escape the pain of the loss of his wife.

Green Acres is the place to be
Farm livin' is the life for me
Land spreadin' out so far and wide
Keep Manhattan, just give me that countryside
New York is where I'd rather stay
I get allergic smelling hay
I just adore a penthouse view
Darling I love you but give me Park Avenue
The chores, the stores
Fresh air, Times Square
You are my wife
Good bye city life
