Set in London's East End, The 14 (aka The Wild Little Bunch aka Existence) is based on the true story of fourteen children who struggle against overwhelming pressures to stay together after the death of their single mother.
Heading the cast is Oliver! star Jack Wild, who plays Reg -- at 17 the eldest of the children, and committed to keeping his young family together after a promise he made to his mum; his mischievous siblings are portrayed by largely untrained juvenile actors. The 14 was the second film directed by Blow Up star David Hemmings, and received a Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival in 1973.
Made available here for the first time in any format, this rare and remarkable film drama is presented in a brand-new transfer from the original film elements.

► Part no. 1: from August 23, 1973 till December 31, 2015 only 25 tennis players have reached the #1 position in ATP Rankings from Nastase (1) to Djokovic (25).
Only 4 players have been #1 for more than 200 weeks: Connors (268), Lendl (270), Sampras (286) & Federer (302).
► Part no. 2: in my opinion can be distinguished the following 5 different periods:
❶ A first period (August 23, 1973 - July 29 , 1974) that I call ‘The Beginnings’: it lasts very little (Nastase and Newcombe in less than a year).
❷ A second period (July 29, 1974 - September 12, 1988 = over 14 years) in which there are only four new #1, in order: Connors, Borg, McEnroe and Lendl. It is a period ‘blocked’ by these four great champions. I call this second period ‘The BIG 4’.
❸ The third period (September 12, 1988 - March 30, 1998) shows seven new #1 in about 9.5 years, in order: Wilander, Edberg, Becker, Courier, Sampras, Agassi and Muster. It is a period a little more dynamic. I call this period ‘Sampras & Agassi’.
❹ The fourth period (March 30, 1998 - February 2, 2004) sees the appearance of nine new #1 in less than six years. Jokingly I call this period ‘The Wild Bunch’ (remembering the movie by Sam Peckimpah, 1969).
❺ The fifth period (February 2, 2004 - December 31, 2015) sees a situation very similar to that previously called ‘The BIG 4’, with three big rulers (Federer, Nadal and Djokovic) in nearly 12 years. I call ‘The BIG 3’ this last period.
► Part no. 3: Precocity. The analysis of earliness shows that the greater precocity belongs to Hewitt and Safin (less than 21 years old), while the lower is of Newcombe (30 years), who was catapulted (as Nastase) into the ATP Rankings when his career was already fully developed.
Longevity. The analysis of longevity with which each of the 25 champions has maintained or regained the top spot of the ATP Rankings shows that the highest longevity belongs to Agassi and Federer (over than 31 years old), while the lowest belongs to Safin and Roddick (less than 22 years old).
Duration. Let’s analyze the time elapsed between the first and the last day in position #1 of each of the 25 champions. The more extended duration belongs to Connors, Federer and Agassi (over 8 years), while the lower belongs to Rafter (only one week).
► Part no. 4: let’s compare for every player the following two elements:
a) the number of weeks at # 1 and b) the duration (years) between the first and the last day at #1.
The resulting Matrix may be represented in a two-dimensional plane, displaying the data combination of two elements:
- on the horizontal axis the number of weeks at #1;
- on the vertical axis the duration (years) between the first and the last day at #1.
► Part no. 5: I added the wins obtained by the 25 champions in Grand Slam Tournaments.
I also added a 26th player, Vilas, who conquered 4 slams; some discussions are ongoing about whether Vilas got or not got first position in 1975 or in 1977.
I then calculated - for each of the 26 champions - the 'Dominance Index'.
★ Federer is in the first position in the Ranking based on the 'Dominance Index'.
Sampras is in second place, Connors is in third position. Nadal is at 4th place, Djokovic at 7th.
The great rivals McEnroe and Borg (8th and 9th place respectively) are almost matched, as well as Lendl and Agassi (at 5th and 6th place respectively) and Edberg and Becker (at 10th and 11th place respectively).
Note that the BIG3 (Federer, Djokovic and Nadal), being still active, in the coming years will be able to improve their own scores.
★ At the end of each of the next years will be interesting to see the changes that there will be in this special ranking, as a result of:
- the performances that players still active will obtain year by year, starting in 2016,
- the new "stars" that surely (sooner or later) will appear in the firmament of the tennis world and will occupy the top spots in the ATP Ranking.

Yesterday the city of Modesto, California came together to honor Bo Hopkins along with other movie stars of the American Graffiti movie stars on the new Legends Of The Cruise Walk Of Fame on the Modesto Historic Graffiti Cruise Route.
Bo Hopkins starred in the movie as Joe 41 years ago in 1973 George Lucas hit film. He has starred in over 100 feature films over the years but will always be most recognized for his work in American Graffiti by the people of Modesto, California.
We met up with Bo Hopkins at the event with Modesto News .org correspondent Naja Davis in order to bring you this exclusive interview with her.

Bo Hopkins has appeared in more than one hundred film and television roles in a career of more than forty years, including The Bridge at Remagen, The Wild Bunch, The Getaway, American Graffiti, White Lightning, Radioland Murders, The Killer Elite, Midnight Express, More American Graffiti and A Small Town in Texas. When Gretchen Corbett left The Rockford Files television series in 1978, Hopkins as "John Cooper" replaced her character as Rockford's attorney for several episodes, arguably Hopkins' most memorable role in well over a hundred TV and movie appearances.Bo Hopkins' first major role in a film was in White Lightning, a 1973 cult classic that also starred Burt Reynolds and Ned Beatty. Bo Hopkins played Roy Boone, Gator McClusky's (played by Burt Reynolds) sidekick during much of the film.Jerry Reed played Bama McCall in the sequel to White Lightning called Gator. Jerry Reed and Bo Hopkins bore a striking resemblance to one another, hence they played brothers Joe Hawkins and Tom Hawkins in the film What Comes Around.In 1981, he appeared in the first season of the prime-time drama Dynasty as Matthew Blaisdel. 100 Greatest Westerns - Introduction and Brief History: For over 100 years, Westerns have been a popular, uniquely American staple -- although the genre has suffered both peaks and valleys in popularity. In fact, Westerns made up the dominant film genre from the beginning of cinema until about 1960, and they appear to be making an invigorating comeback, at least on TV.
Modern movie remakes such as 3:10 to Yuma (2007) and the Coen brothers' True Grit (2010) have paid homage to their mid-twentieth-century predecessors. All Westerns embody a return to the bygone frontier: wide-open spaces, sturdy individualists, gunfighters, shoot-outs, larger-than-life good guys and bad guys, institutions such as the saloon (with bad girls), horse chases, cattle, and lawmen.
Edwin S. Porter's innovative short The Great Train Robbery (1903), marked the real birth of the genre. Some of the earliest traditional Westerns were based on Wild West pulp novels and stories, including the genre's first epic -- the pioneer spectacular The Covered Wagon (1923). From the thirties to the late forties, inexpensive, formulaic B Westerns were churned out each year by the hundreds by lesser studios (Columbia, Universal, and Republic) -- mostly for kiddie audiences at matinees.
As B Westerns began to disappear from theaters and appear on television, the genre's development was saved by some respectable A Westerns. They included John Ford's influential Stagecoach (1939), Ford's take on the Wyatt Earp legend My Darling Clementine (1946), and Ford's acclaimed Cavalry trilogy. Also important was Howard Hawks' definitive generational-conflict and cattle-drive tale Red River (1948). During the era, the much-censored The Outlaw (1943) and scandalous Duel in the Sun (1946) infused the genre with sex. The traditional Western experienced a resurgence in the fifties, brought about by Fred Zinnemann's allegorical High Noon (1952), George Stevens' Shane (1953), and the wide-screen epics Vera Cruz (1954) and The Big Country (1958).
During the postwar period of the forties and fifties, some Westerns took on brooding, dark, and intense themes. Hollywood infused them with cynicism, character complexities, flawed outlaw heroes, and dark pessimism. Anthony Mann teamed with James Stewart for a cycle of five Westerns (from 1950-1955) with themes including revenge, paranoia, and obsession, while neglected director Budd Boetticher collaborated with Randolph Scott in the late 1950s on seven B-Westerns with lean and simple plots. Sergio Leone's trilogy of spaghetti Westerns was representative of a subgenre of foreign films featuring American stars (e.g., Clint Eastwood and Henry Fonda): A Fistful of Dollars (1964), For a Few Dollars More (1965), The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966), and Once Upon a Time in the West (1968, It.). Spaghetti Westerns helped pave the way for the further globalization of Westerns, evidenced earlier by John Sturges' The Magnificent Seven (1960) (a remake of Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai (1954, Jp.)).
So-called revisionist Westerns reinvented, redefined, ridiculed, and questioned the themes and elements of traditional classics. Delmer Daves' Broken Arrow (1950) was considered the first Hollywood picture to take a sympathetic view of the Native Americans. It was followed 40 years later by Kevin Costner's politically correct Dances With Wolves (1990). Bad Day at Black Rock (1955), Peckinpah's violent The Wild Bunch (1969), Little Big Man (1970) with Dustin Hoffman as elderly Jack Crabb, Altman's McCabe & Mrs. Miller (1971), Robert Aldrich's Vietnam allegory Ulzana's Raid (1972), and many other similar films turned the genre upside down. Spoofs such as Cat Ballou (1965), Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), and Blazing Saddles (1974) made fun of some of the form's conventions. Actor-director Clint Eastwood's serious Best Picture-winning Unforgiven (1992) brought the genre back full-circle.

Yesterday the city of Modesto, California came together to honor Bo Hopkins along with other movie stars of the American Graffiti movie stars on the new Legends Of The Cruise Walk Of Fame on the Modesto Historic Graffiti Cruise Route. Bo Hopkins starred in the movie as Joe 41 years ago in 1973 George Lucas hit film. He has starred in over 100 feature films over the years but will always be most recognized for his work in American Graffiti by the people of Modesto, California. We met up with Bo Hopkins at the event with Modesto News .org correspondent Naja Davis in order to bring you this exclusive interview with her. Here is some more info. on Bo Hopkins: Bo Hopkins has appeared in more than one hundred film and television roles in a career of more than forty years, including The Bridge at Remagen, The Wild Bunch, The Getaway, American Graffiti, White Lightning, Radioland Murders, The Killer Elite, Midnight Express, More American Graffiti and A Small Town in Texas. When Gretchen Corbett left The Rockford Files television series in 1978, Hopkins as "John Cooper" replaced her character as Rockford's attorney for several episodes, arguably Hopkins' most memorable role in well over a hundred TV and movie appearances.Bo Hopkins' first major role in a film was in White Lightning, a 1973 cult classic that also starred Burt Reynolds and Ned Beatty. Bo Hopkins played Roy Boone, Gator McClusky's (played by Burt Reynolds) sidekick during much of the film.Jerry Reed played Bama McCall in the sequel to White Lightning called Gator. Jerry Reed and Bo Hopkins bore a striking resemblance to one another, hence they played brothers Joe Hawkins and Tom Hawkins in the film What Comes Around.In 1981, he appeared in the first season of the prime-time drama Dynasty as Matthew Blaisdel. 100 Greatest Westerns - Introduction and Brief History: For over 100 years, Westerns have been a popular, uniquely American staple -- although the genre has suffered both peaks and valleys in popularity. In fact, Westerns made up the dominant film genre from the beginning of cinema until about 1960, and they appear to be making an invigorating comeback, at least on TV. Modern movie remakes such as 3:10 to Yuma (2007) and the Coen brothers' True Grit (2010) have paid homage to their mid-twentieth-century predecessors. All Westerns embody a return to the bygone frontier: wide-open spaces, sturdy individualists, gunfighters, shoot-outs, larger-than-life good guys and bad guys, institutions such as the saloon (with bad girls), horse chases, cattle, and lawmen. Edwin S. Porter's innovative short The Great Train Robbery (1903), marked the real birth of the genre. Some of the earliest traditional Westerns were based on Wild West pulp novels and stories, including the genre's first epic -- the pioneer spectacular The Covered Wagon (1923). From the thirties to the late forties, inexpensive, formulaic B Westerns were churned out each year by the hundreds by lesser studios (Columbia, Universal, and Republic) -- mostly for kiddie audiences at matinees. As B Westerns began to disappear from theaters and appear on television, the genre's development was saved by some respectable A Westerns. They included John Ford's influential Stagecoach (1939), Ford's take on the Wyatt Earp legend My Darling Clementine (1946), and Ford's acclaimed Cavalry trilogy. Also important was Howard Hawks' definitive generational-conflict and cattle-drive tale Red River (1948). During the era, the much-censored The Outlaw (1943) and scandalous Duel in the Sun (1946) infused the genre with sex. The traditional Western experienced a resurgence in the fifties, brought about by Fred Zinnemann's allegorical High Noon (1952), George Stevens' Shane (1953), and the wide-screen epics Vera Cruz (1954) and The Big Country (1958). During the postwar period of the forties and fifties, some Westerns took on brooding, dark, and intense themes. Hollywood infused them with cynicism, character complexities, flawed outlaw heroes, and dark pessimism. Anthony Mann teamed with James Stewart for a cycle of five Westerns (from 1950-1955) with themes including revenge, paranoia, and obsession, while neglected director Budd Boetticher collaborated with Randolph Scott in the late 1950s on seven B-Westerns with lean and simple plots. Sergio Leone's trilogy of spaghetti Westerns was representative of a subgenre of foreign films featuring American stars (e.g., Clint Eastwood and Henry Fonda): A Fistful of Dollars (1964), For a Few Dollars More (1965), The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966), and Once Upon a Time in the West (1968, It.). Spaghetti Westerns helped pave the way for the further globalization of Westerns, evidenced earlier by John Sturges' The Magnificent Seven (1960) (a remake of Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai (1954, Jp.)). So-called revisionist Westerns reinvented, redefined, ridiculed, and questioned the themes and elements of traditional classics. Delmer Daves' Broken Arrow (1950) was considered the first Hollywood picture to take a sympathetic view of the Native Americans. It was followed 40 years later by Kevin Costner's politically correct Dances With Wolves (1990). Bad Day at Black Rock (1955), Peckinpah's violent The Wild Bunch (1969), Little Big Man (1970) with Dustin Hoffman as elderly Jack Crabb, Altman's McCabe & Mrs. Miller (1971), Robert Aldrich's Vietnam allegory Ulzana's Raid (1972), and many other similar films turned the genre upside down. Spoofs such as Cat Ballou (1965), Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), and Blazing Saddles (1974) made fun of some of the form's conventions. Actor-director Clint Eastwood's serious Best Picture-winning Unforgiven (1992) brought the genre back full-circle. -

Only 4 players have been #1 for more than 200 weeks: Connors (268), Lendl (270), Sampras (286) & Federer (302).
► Part no. 2: in my opinion can be distinguished the following 5 different periods:
❶ A first period (August 23, 1973 - July 29 , 1974) that I call ‘The Beginnings’: it lasts very little (Nastase and Newcombe in less than a year).
❷ A second period (July 29, 1974 - September 12, 1988 = over 14 years) in which there are only four new #1, in order: Connors, Borg, McEnroe and Lendl. It is a period ‘blocked’ by these four great champions. I call this second period ‘The BIG 4’.
❸ The third period (September 12, 1988 - March 30, 1998) shows seven new #1 in about 9.5 years, in order: Wilander, Edberg, Becker, Courier, Sampras, Agassi and Muster. It is a period a little more dynamic. I call this period ‘Sampras & Agassi’.
❹ The fourth period (March 30, 1998 - February 2, 2004) sees the appearance of nine new #1 in less than six years. Jokingly I call this period ‘The Wild Bunch’ (remembering the movie by Sam Peckimpah, 1969).
❺ The fifth period (February 2, 2004 - December 31, 2015) sees a situation very similar to that previously called ‘The BIG 4’, with three big rulers (Federer, Nadal and Djokovic) in nearly 12 years. I call ‘The BIG 3’ this last period.
► Part no. 3: Precocity. The analysis of earliness shows that the greater precocity belongs to Hewitt and Safin (less than 21 years old), while the lower is of Newcombe (30 years), who was catapulted (as Nastase) into the ATP Rankings when his career was already fully developed.
Longevity. The analysis of longevity with which each of the 25 champions has maintained or regained the top spot of the ATP Rankings shows that the highest longevity belongs to Agassi and Federer (over than 31 years old), while the lowest belongs to Safin and Roddick (less than 22 years old).
Duration. Let’s analyze the time elapsed between the first and the last day in position #1 of each of the 25 champions. The more extended duration belongs to Connors, Federer and Agassi (over 8 years), while the lower belongs to Rafter (only one week).
► Part no. 4: let’s compare for every player the following two elements:
a) the number of weeks at # 1 and b) the duration (years) between the first and the last day at #1.
The resulting Matrix may be represented in a two-dimensional plane, displaying the data combination of two elements:
- on the horizontal axis the number of weeks at #1;
- on the vertical axis the duration (years) between the first and the last day at #1.
► Part no. 5: I added the wins obtained by the 25 champions in Grand Slam Tournaments.
I also added a 26th player, Vilas, who conquered 4 slams; some discussions are ongoing about whether Vilas got or not got first position in 1975 or in 1977.
I then calculated - for each of the 26 champions - the 'Dominance Index'.
★ Federer is in the first position in the Ranking based on the 'Dominance Index'.
Sampras is in second place, Connors is in third position. Nadal is at 4th place, Djokovic at 7th.
The great rivals McEnroe and Borg (8th and 9th place respectively) are almost matched, as well as Lendl and Agassi (at 5th and 6th place respectively) and Edberg and Becker (at 10th and 11th place respectively).
Note that the BIG3 (Federer, Djokovic and Nadal), being still active, in the coming years will be able to improve their own scores.
★ At the end of each of the next years will be interesting to see the changes that there will be in this special ranking, as a result of:

Bo Hopkins starred in the movie as Joe 41 years ago in 1973 George Lucas hit film. He has starred in over 100 feature films over the years but will always be most recognized for his work in American Graffiti by the people of Modesto, California.
We met up with Bo Hopkins at the event with Modesto News .org correspondent Naja Davis in order to bring you this exclusive interview with her.

Sergio Leone's trilogy of spaghetti Westerns was representative of a subgenre of foreign films featuring American stars (e.g., Clint Eastwood and Henry Fonda): A Fistful of Dollars (1964), For a Few Dollars More (1965), The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966), and Once Upon a Time in the West (1968, It.). 100 Greatest Westerns - Introduction and Brief History: For over 100 years, Westerns have been a popular, uniquely American staple -- although the genre has suffered both peaks and valleys in popularity. In fact, Westerns made up the dominant film genre from the beginning of cinema until about 1960, and they appear to be making an invigorating comeback, at least on TV.
Modern movie remakes such as 3:10 to Yuma (2007) and the Coen brothers' True Grit (2010) have paid homage to their mid-twentieth-century predecessors. All Westerns embody a return to the bygone frontier: wide-open spaces, sturdy individualists, gunfighters, shoot-outs, larger-than-life good guys and bad guys, institutions such as the saloon (with bad girls), horse chases, cattle, and lawmen.
Edwin S. Porter's innovative short The Great Train Robbery (1903), marked the real birth of the genre. Some of the earliest traditional Westerns were based on Wild West pulp novels and stories, including the genre's first epic -- the pioneer spectacular The Covered Wagon (1923). From the thirties to the late forties, inexpensive, formulaic B Westerns were churned out each year by the hundreds by lesser studios (Columbia, Universal, and Republic) -- mostly for kiddie audiences at matinees.
As B Westerns began to disappear from theaters and appear on television, the genre's development was saved by some respectable A Westerns. They included John Ford's influential Stagecoach (1939), Ford's take on the Wyatt Earp legend My Darling Clementine (1946), and Ford's acclaimed Cavalry trilogy. Also important was Howard Hawks' definitive generational-conflict and cattle-drive tale Red River (1948). During the era, the much-censored The Outlaw (1943) and scandalous Duel in the Sun (1946) infused the genre with sex. The traditional Western experienced a resurgence in the fifties, brought about by Fred Zinnemann's allegorical High Noon (1952), George Stevens' Shane (1953), and the wide-screen epics Vera Cruz (1954) and The Big Country (1958).
During the postwar period of the forties and fifties, some Westerns took on brooding, dark, and intense themes. Hollywood infused them with cynicism, character complexities, flawed outlaw heroes, and dark pessimism. Anthony Mann teamed with James Stewart for a cycle of five Westerns (from 1950-1955) with themes including revenge, paranoia, and obsession, while neglected director Budd Boetticher collaborated with Randolph Scott in the late 1950s on seven B-Westerns with lean and simple plots. Sergio Leone's trilogy of spaghetti Westerns was representative of a subgenre of foreign films featuring American stars (e.g., Clint Eastwood and Henry Fonda): A Fistful of Dollars (1964), For a Few Dollars More (1965), The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966), and Once Upon a Time in the West (1968, It.). Spaghetti Westerns helped pave the way for the further globalization of Westerns, evidenced earlier by John Sturges' The Magnificent Seven (1960) (a remake of Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai (1954, Jp.)).
So-called revisionist Westerns reinvented, redefined, ridiculed, and questioned the themes and elements of traditional classics. Delmer Daves' Broken Arrow (1950) was considered the first Hollywood picture to take a sympathetic view of the Native Americans. It was followed 40 years later by Kevin Costner's politically correct Dances With Wolves (1990). Bad Day at Black Rock (1955), Peckinpah's violent The Wild Bunch (1969), Little Big Man (1970) with Dustin Hoffman as elderly Jack Crabb, Altman's McCabe & Mrs. Miller (1971), Robert Aldrich's Vietnam allegory Ulzana's Raid (1972), and many other similar films turned the genre upside down. Spoofs such as Cat Ballou (1965), Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969), and Blazing Saddles (1974) made fun of some of the form's conventions. Actor-director Clint Eastwood's serious Best Picture-winning Unforgiven (1992) brought the genre back full-circle.

Celebrated british composer and arranger the late David Whitaker produced a delightful score for this 1969 Richard Sarafian directed movie, based on the book of the same name by british author david rook who also wrote the movies screenplay. Shot beautifully on location in Dartmoor in south west England Run wild Run free is a
poignant and heart warming movie about Philip a troubled 10 year old boy (played superbly by Oliver star mark lester) who has driven his anxious parents (Sylvia syms and Gordon Jackson) to despair as a result of not uttering a word to them or anyone else since he was 3 years old.
Finding interaction with others difficult Philip shies away from the company of other children instead preferring to spend his days wandering around the nearby moorland. It is on the moors that Philip encounters the nature loving and recently retired colonel (john mills) who along with local girl Diana (Fiona fullerton) befriends Philip and shows him the abundance of animal life that can be found on the devon moors. And it is as a result of these explorations of the moors that Philip develops a strong bond with one of the wild ponies to be found living on the moors......this relationship between boy and pony forming the centrepiece of this gentle and sweet movie.
The lyrics to the title track of the soundtrack were provided by regular John Barry collaborator don black. David Whitaker passed away on 11 january 2012 aged 81. Former child star mark lester gave up acting in the late 1970s later going on to train as a osteopath and now operates his own acupuntcure clinic in cheltenham.
Apologies for the uneven quality of this track.
