Rilo Kiley (/ˈraɪloʊ ˈkaɪliː/ RY-loh KY-lee) was an American indie rock band based in Los Angeles. Formed in 1998, the band consisted of Jenny Lewis, Blake Sennett, Pierre de Reeder, and Dave Rock.
The group released their debut album Take-Offs and Landings under Seattle-based independent label Barsuk Records in 2001. Since then, they have released three additional studio albums and several EPs. In 2007, they were signed with major record label Warner Bros., and subsequently made their major record label debut Under the Blacklight.
Fronted by Jenny Lewis and Blake Sennett the band signed with independent label Barsuk Records for its first full-length album, Take-Offs and Landings, in 2001. The band later signed with Omaha's Saddle Creek Records and released The Execution of All Things in 2002. In 2004, it released More Adventurous on its own imprint, Brute/Beaute Records, which was distributed by major label Warner Bros. Records. The band later signed directly with Warner Bros.
"The Moneymaker" is a song by American indie rock band Rilo Kiley. It was released on July 3, 2007, as the first single from the group's fourth album Under the Blacklight (2007). The lyrics are almost certainly about sex, if not prostitution or the adult industry, in keeping with the album's theme of showing the "sketchy side" of Los Angeles.
The music video for "The Moneymaker" opens with brief clips of interviews (apparently conducted by Jenny Lewis) with pornographic actors Tommy Gunn, Faye Runaway, and Hailey Young. Along with the band, these three are featured in the video, where they interact in what is best described as a sexually charged manner.
In 2009 American-based fast-food restaurant chain Carl's Jr. used the song in one of its commercials. The same year "The Moneymaker" was featured in a episode of 90210 TV series.
Silver Lining, A Silver Lining or The Silver Lining may refer to:
Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. (commonly known as Warner Bros., Warners, or simply WB) is an American entertainment company that produces film, television and music entertainment. As one of the major film studios, it is a division of Time Warner, with its headquarters in Burbank, California. Warner Bros. has several subsidiary companies, including Warner Bros. Pictures, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Warner Bros. Television, Warner Bros. Animation, Warner Home Video, New Line Cinema, Castle Rock Entertainment, and DC Entertainment. Warner Bros. owns half of The CW Television Network.
The company's name originates from the four founding Warner brothers (born Wonskolaser or Wonsal before Anglicization):Harry (born Hirsz), Albert (born Aaron), Sam (born Szmul), and Jack (Itzhak, or to some sources, Jacob). They emigrated as small children with their parents to Canada from Krasnosielc which was located in the part of Congress Poland that had been subjugated to the Russian Empire following the eighteenth-century Partitions of Poland near present-day Ostrołęka.
Warner Bros. Records Inc. is an American record label. It was the foundation label of the present-day Warner Music Group, and now operates as a wholly owned subsidiary of that corporation. Cameron Strang serves as CEO of the company.
Warner Bros. Records was established in 1958 as the recorded music division of the American movie studio Warner Bros. Pictures. For most of its existence it was one of a group of labels owned and operated by larger parent corporations. The sequence of companies that controlled Warner Bros. and its allied labels evolved through a convoluted series of corporate mergers and acquisitions from the early 1960s to the early 2000s. Over this period, Warner Bros. Records grew from a struggling minor player in the industry to become one of the top recording labels in the world.
In 2003, these music assets were divested by their then owner Time Warner and purchased by a private equity group. This independent company traded as the Warner Music Group (WMG), before being bought by Access Industries in 2011. WMG is the smallest of the three major international music conglomerates and the world's last publicly traded major music company.

In steep cliffs with rocks all piled up mysteries of your passing luck Ages past shells and bits of foam forming new limestone to give things their turn There are no bad words for the coast today You never knew why you felt so good in the strangest of places Like in waiting rooms and long lines that made you late and mall parking lots on holidays. There are no bad words for the coast today when we hold our breath until nothing's left it all starts to fade. We can see the stars from where the birds make their homes staring back at us Indifferent but distanced perfectly projected endlessly it's so fucking beautiful. There are no better words for the coast today then you ask what's a palisade and if we're too late for happiness?

Records This was a slightly controversial documentary that was released with the single and video of The Moneymaker off of Rilo Kiley's latest album, Under The Blacklight. These actors were called in for a porn audition. They had no idea a doc was being made. After their auditions they were told about the project and gave us permission to use the footage. Jenny Lewis, accompanied by Blake Sennett of Rilo Kiley, performs Rilo Kiley's "Portions For Foxes" live at the second weekend of the 2015 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, CA, on April 19, 2015.
"Close Call" is my favorite Rilo Kiley tune from the new "Under The Blacklight" album, and this clip features a stellar performance on JOOLS HOLLAND. Watching this put a smile on my face all day long and maybe it will do the same for you. I work nights in a television studio and used to come home in the morning to find absolutely nothing interesting to watch on television. The last thing I wanted to see was more commercials. And I'm not really interested in watching talk shows and soap operas. Then I discovered the commercial free music channel RAVE. HD quality video and pretty much perfect 5.1 sound. A few times a week they run "Later With Jools Holland" in the morning. Jools has great taste in music and each show runs the gamut from pop, rock, folk, Celtic, African, to Joanna Newso...

After finally meeting Sarah Holtschlag and finishing the collaborative live film I first suggested years back, I had just enough time left in Chicago for just one more visit. Enter: Grandkids. I found this band so randomly online after browsing old show posters that some Chicago venues still had up on their calendars. More importantly, I really got hooked by their song, "Ethylene," the first song on the video. It's an interesting unplugged, super-slow take especially since I fell in love with the faster, pop-rock version that reminded me of a Rilo Kiley B-Side. Vivian had offered her brother's place as a spot to film all of their songs. The house is a creative person's home. You won't see it here, but everywhere there are vinyl records, stacks of old art books, and replicas of famous pain...
Los Angeles singer-songwriter Nik Freitas has opened for acts such as Bright Eyes and Rilo Kiley and toured as a part of Broken Bells' live band. Playing every instrument on each one of his five albums, Freitas' brand of indie-pop is homey, light and sweet, with an easy-going, Beatlesesque tone. His performances are effortless serenades immersed in the emotion of the songs. Nik Freitas' latest album, Saturday Night Underwater, is out now via Little Record Company. Nardwuar interviews Rilo Kiley in Vancouver, BC, Canada!
"If you want to get to heaven/Get out of this world," sings Jenny Lewis in the title track of her charmer of a third solo album, The Voyager, out July 29. If the song's acoustic chords and slightly dreamy quality sound familiar — a bit like a certain Mancunian band that ruled during Britpop's '90's heyday, there's a reason for that. Lewis' producer and one of many collaborators on the new record, the notoriously prickly Ryan Adams, issued a challenge as work on the album drew to a close. "[He] told me to go home and write 'Wonderwall,'" she says. That Oasis assignment is just one of the revelations to come out of Refinery29's recent conversation with Lewis. It's been five long years since her last solo release, Acid Tongue, eight since its predecessor with the Watson Twins, Rabbit Fur ...

A young (15) Jenny Lewis (Rilo Kiley, the Postal Service) from back in her acting days (The Wizard, Troop Beverly Hills) featured in Teen Set video magazine. Interview, hat collection, and trampoline. Teen Set was an ill conceived video magazine aimed at teens, but it completely missed the mark. Obviuously an adult vision of the hip teen world, the video is unintentionally funny, and kinda embarrassing. A great relic of the pre-alternative 90s.

Moods don't command you if you don't know what you're going through
There's love for you up where the population grows
There are friendly people in cities too, just ask them where they are going to
There's life and work up where the clouds meet the snow
And i don't waiting
I'm always one step ahead of you if you don't know what you're going through
There's laughs and fun up where the conversation flows
I don't mind waiting if it takes a long, long time
I don't mind braving the coldest winters of our time
I don't mind racing through our goodbyes
This is your last line of defense
You can sell your baseball cards just to pay your rent, yeah
I don't mind waiting if it takes a long, long time
I don't mind wasting the best years of our lives
